"Uh thanks?" Riza murmured, although by the time she squeaked out the sound Keegan had already gone outside, taking her swimsuit and skirt with him. She twiddled her fingers a bit and stared at the floor nervously. Maybe she'd overdid it a bit back there? 'Oh, nice going Riza,' she thought bitterly, closing her eyes. 'You finally find a potential crush and you scare him off in record time! That's nice, really nice.' Her bitter thoughts were soon cut short as she saw one of the nurses from earlier looking around for her. Riza stood up carefully and made her way over to her. "How is my Sneasel?" she asked.
"Your Sneasel is resting comfortably," the nurse told her with a smile. "She has no injuries or other problems we need to worry about. A bit more of a rest and she should be ready to go, although I strongly suggest you both get a good night sleep tonight." she bowed politely before walking away.
"That's a relief," Riza murmured, feeling as though a weight had been removed from her shoulders. She walked over and sat back down in the same chair as before, deciding that she had nothing better to do than just wait for now.

Kilik and Rena sat in silence at their table, merely waiting for Lairon to be taken care of. The boy crossed his arms and tapped his finger on his bicep. He listened to an exchange of words between other trainers in the building. One was that girl from before. The one who suggested that they introduce themselves and he sort of did before dashing off. The other one was Keegan, that red headed kid that hung around Kasiya all the time. He couldn't exactly say he knew either one all that well.
Kilik looked over his shoulder to watch Riza sit down. The boy stood up and motioned for Rena to follow him. He approached the other girl and held out a hand to introduce himself. "Sorry about earlier. I was preoccupied with battling Mike and I don't think I should've run off like I did." He scratched the back of his head with his other hand. "My name's Kilik."
The girl blinked. What was he apologizing for? Must have been before she arrived. "My name's Rena. And you are?" she also held out her hand to introduce herself.

Basking in the sunlight for a bit longer, Whitney eventually opened her eyes and got to her feet. Well... I guess I'd better get going before I get too comfortable, she thought, taking one last look around the beach. So beautiful... heh. With a soft smile, she slipped her shoes back on, and headed northward. Going over Maorde's recent appearances and attacks on both Nina and all people surrounding Nina, Whitney did her best to try to form a pattern of some sort. Obviously, since Raimundo had been feeding him information about Nina and her whereabouts, this made it so Maorde could swoop down on his Salamence at any moment and attack... but why did he wait to attack her in the places that he did? After all, it wasn't like he secluded her away from the general population; he attacked her in plain daylight in Celadon City, for one. Maybe he wanted the attention? Maybe he wanted more people to fear him to get a heightened sense of power? Maybe it was just totally random? Whitney couldn't say.
And that bothered her. She wanted the answers. She wanted the solution. She wanted Anna back, she wanted Nina herself back. As fate would have it, though, Anna had been spirited away by Maorde, while Nina rested in Kanto's Pokemon League, carefully watched over by the members of the Elite Four as she recovered from the near-mental breakdown she incurred. Everything was broken and Whitney volunteered to pick up the pieces, not realizing at the time just how terrifically large of a job she had taken on. She cursed under her breath, continuing northward and leaving Slateport, along Route 110.
And as she walked, she spotted someone in the distance, sitting underneath a large tree, her back resting on its trunk. It looked like she had a map in her hands.

Tora managed to turn her head just a bit to glare resentfully at Train, though she was certain that even her own trainer might be silently laughing at her predicament. But M.A.'s light-heartedness was expected by now, and was less irritating than contagious; thus, Tora was almost not angry until that Pikachu did that crazy speed thing and slammed into her again! The elephant groaned, suddenly able to uncurl out of her half-way-there curl. That hit had been pretty good.
Now, Tora's idealistic battle style was generally "I hit you, you hit me, let's see who's still standing" -- and so she rarely, much to M.A.'s exasperation, gave even a teensy bit of effort into dodging. Not that she reacted fast enough to dodge most of the times anyways. So she didn't mind the fact that Pikachu was getting the hits in, but man did it enfuriate her not to be able to return the sentiment! Snorting, and trying to manually shake out the paralysis that seemed to tie up her muscles, she once again tried to get into a Rollout; if only she got her momentum started, she'd be fine.
And this time it worked! A little stiffly, maybe, and for the first second the only thing she managed to do was send sand right in M.A.'s face (which the girl spat out), but eventually she got to moving like a boulder. And so the boulder spun wildly towards the Electric Mouse, spraying sand on innocent passing beach-goers in the meantime.
------
Ulani was petrified.
This utterly ugly greenish thing (ugly in her opinion, at least) was staring at her with such a mopey, dopey face that it was terrifying. And -- oh no -- she watched it as it, in extreme slow motion, lean down to kiss her wing with those terrible, icky lips!
The kiss seemed to break her petrification spell, and off Ulani flew, dashing away into the sky until that nasty feeling of being too close to that thing went away. Finally, when she was a good fifty feet up in the air, she sighed, feeling victorious in her escape. And she turned around then, just to gloat in that common painter's face, when she saw the fellow floating idly in pursuit! What the heck, how did it get those drippy green wings? Hooooly, did it paint those things?! More terrified than before of her love-eyed suitor, the Cotton Bird dashed away in the skies, the Smeargle very lazily following her, his tail drawing hearts into the air and letting them fall to the ground like rain.

Train shrugged apologetically at Tora, a sheepish grin playing it's way across her face. She shifted her weight and watched the little light-blue Pokemon try to move, a bit dissapointed when the Pokemon got going, but holding the smile she had previously when the Phanphy ended up spraying sand right in her trainer's face. "You alright over there?" The teenager called kind-heartedly, though her attention was divided as she noticed that some of the beach-go-ers who got sprayed were loitering around now to watch the battle, and she smiled inwardly that they're little battle was getting some attention.
Pikachu was not as happy, however, as the previously paralyzed Phanphy rolled towards him superfast, and then bowler him over like a...well, bowling pin! And it HURT, too. Pikachu winced as he got to his feet, but was still determined to to all the way. Train puzzled over what attack to use, then sighed finally and said, "Thundershock, Pikachu." The attack itself wouldn't do much, but maybe the electicity would get some paralyses to set in again.

"Yeah, I'm fine," M.A. said with a smile, relaxed as ever. It'd take more than some sand to ruffle her feathers, pardon the cliche. In her little world above the clouds, she didn't even really pay particular attention to the crowd gathering, only mostly focusing on the two Pokemon before them and the trainer across from her.
Pikachu's electric attack connected, but didn't appear to have any damaging effect as the Phanpy was more or less immune to it; the static did, however, cause quite a bit of disorientation in her rolling body, leaving the bowling ball pretty uncertain of where exactly where she was going. Better accuracy or not, the fizzly feeling caused her to lose concentration, and so she didn't exactly check her direction twice. Not even sure of whether or not she made contact with the Pikachu, she plowed straight throught, and M.A. realized with a bout of clarity that she was heading right into a bunch of beach-goers sitting under their umbrellas. "Tora, stop!" she shouted, uncharacteristically raising her voice, although probably not as panicky as she should be. Before she could rip her Pokeball off her belt to recall the wayward Pokemon, however, a weird phenomenon caused all her to stop as she was.
Tora, rolling away rapidly, was starting to get the impression that she was going too far now, and should maybe turn or something. But the partial paralysis was getting the best of her here, and she couldn't get her brakes to start. Not to mention, she was getting that weird fluttery sensation in her stomach again, and it kept ebbing in and out jerkily through the rest of her body. Jeez, was this that weird tummy ache again? Some tummy ache. It was even making her shiny!
The elephant debated, as she tumbled ominously close to the beach-goers's herd of umbrellas (the people themselves, having seen the threatening little boulder, scooted neatly out of the way), if she should try to swallow down this feeling again, but remembered that M.A. had told her to tough out her uncomfortableness and it'll go away. And so she did, and sure enough, her stomach got smaller... but the bigness went elsewhere?
And so, instead of a less harmful Phanpy colliding into these hapless umbrellas, there sat a rather dumbfounded Donphan, wondering how the heck her butt could fit over so many of these things.

Keegan studied the clothes that were drying on the back of the bench behind him and sighed, wondering why he'd thought this was a good idea in the first place. The redhead closed his eyes and shook his head, finding himself unable to shake the image of a towel-clad Riza from his mind. There was no denying that she was a very beautiful girl, as well as the fact that she was proud of it and undoubtedly loved to flaunt it. He sighed again and tried to rationalize his thoughts. Yes, he was attracted to her, but the more he thought about it the more he began to realize that it was on a purely physical basis. Her attitude and mannerisms were definitely off-putting, and he found her to be a little bitter and cynical, which for him, was saying something.
He leaned forward, burying his face in his hands and tried to think of something else, like where Kasiya had gone off to. Between the hatching of her egg and the battle with Jaeshan, he'd lost track of her, and as he looked back towards the Pokemon Center, fully aware of the fact that Riza was still in there, waiting for him to bring back her clothes, another wave of guilt washed over him. I should be with Kasiya, he thought miserably. Not here with some half-naked stranger. He sat up straight and exhaled deeply, letting the fact that he felt guilty make him feel a little better. His father had always said that a person didn't have guilt in them unless they had a reason to feel that way, or something like that. A sort of half-smirk crept onto his face then, as another small thought edged its way through: all he had to do was give Riza back her clothes when they were dry, say goodbye and walk away, and Kasiya would never have to know.

Giovanni turned to leave the lab. There was nothing more of interest to him there. Perhaps a walk around the Gym would clear his head, or perhaps a spar against his Machamp. If anything, he was certain a cold glass of whiskey was necessary to calm his nerves. Why was this bothering him so much? The Leader clasped his hands behind his back and began to walk away.
Dr. Wright didn't have the heart to tell the leader what he saw on the monitor just now, but he could not leave it unchecked. The scientist called out of his leader. "Sir, we...have another one." He winced as Giovanni stopped dead in his tracks. "The girl that Kilik spent some time with, M.A., her Phanpy has just evolved into a Donphan. It does not seem that it can control its newly found power, however..."
The leader turned on his heel and went up to the scientist, his fist clenched tightly. So tightly that his knuckles were turning pale. "Listen to me. I don't care about these evolutions anymore!" Giovanni lifted his hands and grabbed Dr. Wright by the lapels of his coat. "What happens happens, and I will take the precautions and training necessary to stop them. They're children! I will not be made a fool of again!"
Dr. Wright shuddered in his grip, placing his hands on Giovanni's forearm and holding on almost for dear life. He could feel his feet dangling from the floor. "Y-yes, s-s-sir! Of course!" He gulped, "We will no longer keep you updated on situations involving the children! I just figured that you should know since you w-were d-down here!" The man shut his eyes tightly.
Once more, Giovanni's knuckles flashed white. He calmed down and slowly let the man's feet touch the floor. His grip relaxed and color returned to his hands. The Rocket still had his fingers latched on the labcoat. He whispered calmly, "You're right. You won't keep me updated. Nor will you keep our operatives or yourselves informed."
With that, he threw Dr. Wright into the console. He watched the other scientists scatter like roaches under a light as their superior crashed into the machine. The keyboard caved in, screens shattered upon impact, and a shower of sparks came down on the floor. Giovanni left without another word as the other men scrambled to help Dr. Wright.

Riza looked up when she heard a voice speaking to her, and she was a little surprised to see the tall boy with dark hair from before. 'Oh, he's the guy with the elekid,' she thought, slowly reaching up to shake his hand, even more surprised when he apologized to her. "I'm Riza," she said with a nod, looking to the other girl and shaking her hand as well. She stood up and stretched her long and slender legs, which were feeling cramped after all this sitting she'd been doing. She was still careful to keep her robe drawn tightly around her. "Battles can be pretty exciting so don't worry about it," she added, looking to Kilik. "I understand."
For a moment, the three of them stood there in silence, and Riza decided to break it. "So what brings you guys here?" she asked idly, glancing towards the treatment room. "I'm just waiting for my Sneasel. Oh, and my clothes as well," she added with a slight laugh.

Kilik laughed as well. Nothing like a Pokemon Center shower to calm your nerves, that much he was certain. "We're just here waiting for my Lairon." He slipped his hands into the pockets of his swimtrunks. "She and I just had a little sparring match and I was hoping for him to evolve. Not yet, though." He sighed a bit then glanced over at Rena. "Which begs the question...what made you decide to show up anyway?"
"What, was I not invited?" she joked, "I heard 'party' and I figured you and your friends would be here so I took the opportunity to see you again." Rena glanced down at Riza and smiled, "And to meet new friends."
"Alright, alright. Fair enough," Kilik said. "So you're here with Keegan? How do you two know each other?" The boy shrugged. It was at this moment he realized that he wasn't that good at meeting new people. Of course, that didn't mean he shouldn't try.

It was safe to say that Riza had no idea what a 'lairon' even was so she just smiled and nodded along. She didn't let it bother her, as she was in a new region after all and there were bound to be hundreds of Pokemon she didn't even know about. "I bet it will be something when he evolves," she said, wondering if her own little Sneasel could ever evolve into something more as she combed her fingers through her still damp black hair.
She smiled a bit at the banter between Kilik and Rena. It seemed the two knew each other quite well, and she couldn't help but feel a little envious. Making friends was a foreign concept to her, let alone even having them. She shrugged a bit at Kilik's question, not really sure how to answer it. "We're not really here 'together', she said, touching a slender finger to her chin. He just happened to be here when I was, that's all." she couldn't very well say that he was her friend after all, they'd only just met a while ago. "We met earlier on the beach and we just seem to keep bumping into each other." She gave a coy little smile at this, but the expression passed quickly. "What about you guys?" she asked, an impish grin forming on her features. "You seem close."

It wasn't like he could actually fill her in to why or how they met. Saying that they were once both members of Team Rocket wouldn't exactly come across very well for a first impression. The two looked at each other then at Riza. "We uh..." Kilik began, "We met a few months ago. She helped me with a Gym Battle and we became friends after that." He kind of nudged her with his elbow for her to go along with it. I'm a bad liar, he thought.
She blinked then sort of winced when he jabbed her. "Oh! Right, yeah. It was way back. When you were going for your...Rainbow Badge, was it?" Rena didn't know what badges he had - she took a shot in the dark and luckily it was correct, because Kilik nodded furiously. "Yep! And we traveled together for a while, then I had some things to do. It's been a long time since we've seen each other."
"That's right, that's right!" Kilik clasped his hands together, hoping to change the subject quickly. No doubt he felt insanely awkward about it and having to lie to this new girl. "So once she gets her Sneasel and I get my Lairon, why don't the three of us go out to get some lunch, huh?" He laughed. If she and Keegan weren't actually there together, then he most likely wouldn't mind her leaving with them.

Finally Robin managed to grab a hold of Luffy and did her best to hold him still while he squirmed around trying to get at the weird looking man. "Luffy stop it! You can't attack trainers like that!" She cried trying to get control of her pokemon. She knew that if Luffy ever did lay one paw on someone there would be a lot of problems, pokemon that were under a trainers command were considered unsafe if they attacked people.
"Your damn right your pokemon can't attack trainers! I don't care if he was confused that is not right! Consider this battle over!" The Mr. Mime trainer glared angry at Robin before recalling his pokemon and storming off.
Robin watched him walk off as she struggled to hold onto the still confused Luffy. "Damn it Luffy." She cursed sniffling slightly. Still the confusion didn't last to long and soon he stopped squirming and held still in Robin's arms. "Are you ok Luffy?" Robin asked after a moment. She knew that she didn't have the best control over Luffy but that didn't mean she was going to punish him. He wasn't the smartest but he had a good heart and that was all that mattered to her. Getting up Robin still held onto Luffy, she suddenly wasn't feeling to happy about this party and just wanted to get back to where Ampersand was. "Come on Luffy lets try to find Ampersand." She muttered to the silent for once Aipom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aidan couldn't believe that Skorupi had blocked the attack for him. Getting his breath back he pushed himself back up to his feet. "Thank you Skorupi." He managed to breath out. The small pokemon glanced back and gave him a small nod. "All right well Use your Bite attack on one of them if you can." Aidan ordered as he took a few more steps back in order to not get caught up in any more attacks.
Off to the side Gible was busy unleashing her fury on the poor Bidoof, the small normal type pokemon didn't stand a chance. Using a powerful Take Down attack to end her foe Gible looked back to where her master and Skorupi were fending off two of the Bidoof. Snorting slightly at her partners inability to take down even one of the pathetic pokemon. Dashing forward in another Take Down attack Gible slammed into the Bidoof that Skorupi wasn't biting. Upon hitting the pokemon Gible winced slightly but was glad when she sent the other pokemon flying hitting the tree a little ways away with a loud smack.
When Gible smashed into the other Bidoof Aidan couldn't help but be surprised. He knew that his new pokemon was strong, and pretty aggressive for him he just hadn't known she was that aggressive. Still he was glad that he was on his side, she was a very good ally. Giving her a small nod he watched her tired and injured form for a second before turning his attention back to Skorupi. His strong jaws were clamped down hard on the Bidoof's body. Shaking his head about before letting ago and dropping the tired Bidoof on the ground.
Upon being dropped the Bidoof panted slightly, before looking around. All his partners were out and he was really injured. Deciding that he couldn't win this the Bidoof backed up before dashing away. This battle was over but he would be back to make sure that he came back to teach this trainer a lesson.
Seeing that the Bidoof was retreating Aidan let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much for your help you two." He bent down and patted each of his pokemon on their head before recalling them. He had to make a trip to the pokemon center now but he was still happy with his small victory.
Train sighed a bit when she saw that she'd been correct--the electricity seemed to merely roll over Tora, and the Phanphy had probably barely notice the attack. She expected Tora to turn around and begin heading towards Pikachu again, but was surprised to see that the Pokemon merely kept going forward, straight towards a group of umbrellas and people. "Uh--ohh, s**t," The teenager muttered, both her and Pikachu watching the light-blue Pokemon speed on towards the beach-goers.
But suddenly the little Pokemon was englufed in light, and glowed brightly. "Whoaa," Train exhaled, staring at the now huge and gray Ph--no...well, whatever it was, it was pretty cool. "Wow, what is it?" Train asked, directing the question at M.A., momentarily forgetting about the fact that she had a PokeDex that could easily tell her what it was.
"Loudred, smash that Metang with an Astonish!" Janice shouted. Even though reluctant to break the hold, the purple Pokemon did just that, taking a defensive step back before letting out a loud roar and quickly dashing forward, using its powerful arm to land a shocking blow right between Metang's eyes.
Metang blinked a few times in surprise but shook it off, managing to avoid flinching this time around. His eyes narrowed sharply and suddenly he too shot forward, rearing back and slashing downwards with his sharp claws. Jaeshan immediately recognized the attack as Metal Claw, and he sighed a bit, glad to know that Metang's evolution seemed to come with a few new attacks.
Meanwhile, Tropius had begun to beat its wings again, this time sending out a sharp gust of wind that slammed into Shelgon, as there was nothing she could do to stop it in time. Without waiting for Jaeshan to issue a command, the dragon lowered her head and charged forward, ramming into the leafy dinosaur for a powerful Headbutt attack.
=-=-=-=-= It took a lot longer than Flannery anticipated for her to find a spot on the beach to set up her things. After a while she just plum gave up looking before she resorted to sending out her very-scary looking Houndoom. A few sharp glares and growls later she had ample room, and after thanking the canine she recalled him (he didn't like the brightness of the sun anyway) she lied out a large blanket, the Lavaridge gym badge embroidered in the middle. Torkoal dug around in the sand nearby, puffing out clouds of white smoke and looking quite happy.
"Okay I have to admit... this is kinda nice," Flannery said with a sigh, donning her shades and lying back on the blanket. Despite the atmosphere in which she lived being constantly cloaked in heat, her skin was still very pale, mostly due to her being constantly locked in her gym, working with her trainers. Maybe a bit of colour couldn't hurt? On second thought, with her being a natural redhead, she realized that too much colour would be a bad thing, and she reached for her sunscreen, not wanting her extremities matching her hair by the end of the day.
