"Again, what do I need college for? Besides, I'm so far behind on my credits... and they're split between two school systems. i would have to fully dedicate two years in either system to actually graduate from high school. I'd never get into a good college."

Keiko's spent all her life being fed the lie that you can't make it without college. "But..." she stops. "Maybe that works for you." she says, still pondering this. "But I need to go to college."

"It's worse in Japan because they're so strict about attendence. YOu'd be amazed at how many days you can miss in Canada... and that's just how many days before you don't get your credits for that year, not how many days before the school expells you."
