"You can bring people back? You mean into your own time?" Felicity blinks, surprised and interested, but stops when someone else appears. She hasn't seen him before, and his clothes make him hard to place. Sometime in the future, maybe, or a very warm climate somewhere.
She stops her mental analysis to nod a greeting toward him. "Afternoon. I think."

Aye, through the door. *Maggie tells her, and starts to say something more when Luke appears* Oh, good eve there, Luke.
*She gathers from thier exchanged greeting that they've not yet met, and steps forward to introduce them* Miss Felicity, this is Luke. He's been coming here for quite some time as well. And Luke, this is Felicity ... she's a wee bit new, yet.

*Luke turns on a smile and joins the women at the bar. He extends his hand to Felicity.* Nice to meet you. ... *He appraised her. She seemed to be handling it pretty damn well.* This your first time here?

"Nice to meet you.... And no, actually," she says, shaking his hand. "I've been coming here off and on for about... two months, now, I think." She looks up and down at his outfit again. "Where're you from?"

*Luke clears his throat and runs a hand down his shirt, smirking as she eyes his clothes.* Philadelphia. I'm in the middle of 2003.
*points to her, appraises her attire* How 'bout you? You look like you stepped out of a Western. Are you from America, too?

"Yep. New Mexico Territory, at present." She smiles slightly. "What's 2003 like? It's 1887 where I'm from... and everyone I've met so far is either from the far past, very far future, or too close to my own time to be much different."

*Luke raises his eyebrows. After a moment, he says.* Noisy. *smile* Fast. *He blinks, reaches into his pocket, and pulls out his cell phone.* Check it out. We've got these things.

For a split-second, Felicity thinks it's a gun, and almost acts accordingly before realizing that no one in the Brink would probably use one on her. Well, no one present at the moment.
She frowns slightly at the thing, though, curious. It doesn't seem to have a visible function, but there are a lot of buttons that she figures must do something. "What is it?"

*Luke flips it open.* Don't worry, it's not gonna hurt you. *Unless they cause cancer, like USA Today says... But even here, the cell phone isn't turned on.*
*hands it to her* It's called a cell phone. Here, take a look. ... See the numbers. You punch in a code. *makes a "phone" with his hand* Then you hold it up to your ear, like this.
It calls other people's cell phones. The sound travels through the phone, and you can talk to each other from miles away.

*Maggie looks on with some interest. She remembers Bard telling her about telephones, before.* 'Tis amazing, truly ...

Felicity stares at it for a while, listening to Luke's description. She turns it over in her hand, examining it with a slightly bemused look.
"That's impossible," she says finally, shaking her head. "It's so small. How could they possibly hear you?"

Technology, babe. *Luke says confidently.* It's rampant.
*grin* What? You don't believe me?
*points to her and to says to Maggie, as if in conspiracy* She doesn't believe me. Can't you believe that?

*Maggie laughs a little, and points out* Well ye can hardly blame her, can ye? I am sure ye doubted some of what Cora's told ye of her time when first ye knew her.

Felicity glanced from Luke to Maggie, frowning. "Well, the closest thing I can think of is a telegraph, so if it's anything like that I can see how it'd work. But just hearing someone from miles away.... It doesn't seem possible."
