Decemius I've yet to watch any of the movies. Do they add anything to the story? they dont add anything to the movie

From my understanding Naruto doesn't die in the movie and the movies are actually comewhat AU to the series.

In the movie he doesn't die. Something happens where he comes back to life and what not.
The only movie I am looking forward to it the one where Sasuke and Naruto team up to defeat a powerful enemy. It is AU. In the manga Sasuke and Naruto only see each other once and that was when Sasuke tried to kill him or something like that.

i've seen all the movies and up to episode 108 in shippuuden which should be ep. 329. i forgot which volume it was but i read the manga with sasuke and itachi's fight.
