[DC=Chakra Control-2+Str Mod-2+Etna's advice-2+Shuiro's help-2+1d20-14=22 Pass]

Yumi looked upward to her teammate. She wasn't sure what her name was yet but she would probably find out soon. Yumi listened to her words that she had to say. This was so much different than Giglamesh's way of teaching, he pretty much inflicted pain until she figured it out this team obviously believed in a lot more cooperation. "Thanks." She yelled up at her. That little piece of advice would make it easier as well.

Yumi groped the area above her to make sure she had a good place for her hand to grip onto before she tried to pull herself up to the next ledge. She found a small round rock ledge to place her right hand on. There looked also to be a place for her left hand just a little bit above that rock and to the left of it as well. Yumi was keeping her chakra constant in her hand and placed her hand on the next rock. She didn't slip to her surprise she managed to stay attached to the rock face. Then she pulled her left hand to the place where it looked like she could attach herself to and did successfully as well. Yumi steadied her feet and was so close to the top of the cliff.

Two more full length stretches of her body and she would be pulled up onto the edge of the cliffside. Yumi was glad that she was so close. Her body was slightly tired and had several scratches, along with bruises. She was tiny but not frail. Yumi was doing quite well, or so she thought. She was still trying to keep her chakra constant for her next move of pulling herself up the rock face.

Yumi felt around the area above her and she looked to see where would be a good spot to place her left hand then her right hand. Her chakra did remain constant through her hands. She moved her right hand to the area that she found and pulled herself up to then be able to reach the ledge she found with her left hand. Afterwards she sturdied her feet like she had the previous time. This was her pattern to climbing up the cliffside.

"One more time." She told herself. It wasn't that far and this training had been mostly easy going. She looked upwards again. Her hand would place on the earth plateau if she managed to keep her chakra the same strength as before. She looked for a moment and took a breath, hopefully this is it, she thought. It would be good to actually be introduced to the other teammate that she had besides Roy.

Yumi would push her feet up the cliffside to be able to place her hands on the plateau. She had inadvertently moved her chakra to her feet so that her feet stuck to the mountainside to be able to stay attached to the face. She pulled herself up with her hands and slide her body up the mountainside to the plateau. She looked slighlty clumsy as she slide her arms then torso then the rest of her body onto the plateau.

“You’re done… take a rest…” Etna spoke aloud to Shuiro.

Etna looked to Yumi as she laid there. She had made her way up the Cliffside. She sat there for a long moment and looked the girl over. She then glanced over to Shuiro whom had also completed her training. The only one left was the boy. A sick grin crossed her feline lips… if she had any. She began to walk over to the boy and look him over, “Well now boy… you’ve been bested by two girls. Both have completed their tasks and yet, here you are still struggling back here with yours. What’s taking you so long? Can’t think straight with this much estrogen in the air?”

The cat took great pleasure in teasing and taunting him. There were times when people wondered why she didn’t just kill Roy. He had captured the cat and basically turned her into a pet of his and yet she seemed ok with that… for the most part. What was her game?

Roy growled a little. The cat was trying to irk him… and it was working. Not that he was chauvinistic or anything like that, it’s just that he already had so much crap going on in his mind and now the cat was getting on him too. A bead of sweat ran down his face as he continued to pump his chakra through the sand. It was getting harder and harder to maintain his focus as he let his mind wander. He hated it when he couldn’t focus straight. Curse his imagination.

He glanced about for a moment and noticed that double d was finished with her training and the girl Yumi had even climbed all the way back up the cliff. What was going on? Was he really falling this far behind? Or was it rigged? Had Etna done something to make his life harder? These thoughts raced through his mind to the point where he had to close his eyes and focus.

Etna, the training guru from hell(literally?) has set upon you to perform training of the highest known chakra control, Elemental and Spatial recomposition. Take the object in hand and focus your chakra to bring it to the surface as the element you favor.

You have 5 turns to break the given DC. If, by the 5th roll, you have not broken the DC, it is classified as a fail. You must beat this DC to be classified as a pass.

It was working. The double hand over the chakra was actually working but he still had a long way to go. He was still focused too much and after blasting that sand everywhere the first time, he was terrified of failing again. He swallowed hard as he looked down to his hands and began to try and gather up his chakra again for one last good push. He couldn’t get the thoughts out of his mind as to what Etna might do to him if he didn’t finish this or if he failed too many times. She could be scary when she wanted too. What a pain this was going to be.

One last jolt and he felt it… he felt it falling apart. He couldn’t tell what was going on but he knew this wasn’t right. His focus was lost and he couldn’t get the thoughts out of his mind. He soon felt something rolling around in his hand. Just as he opened it slightly, huge bursts of sands and small pebbles shot from them. Some shot so fast that they made small hairline cuts into the palm of his hand. He growled and kneeled down. Even though they were small, the fact that some of the sand stuck in them made it all the worse. He couldn’t focus properly now but he knew he still had too.

He made every attempt to avert his eyes from his hands. Instead, he simply dug them back into the sand and began again.

Stinging… so much damn stinging. He gritted his teeth as the small specks of sand found all the sour and open wounds on his hand. It was almost like they were alive. Even when he didn’t move his hand, he still felt the sand shifting and digging into it. Clinching his eyes, he had to bite back a yip of pain. His mother had taught him better than that and he wouldn’t give Etna the satisfaction of seeing him show weakness.

Glancing down to the cat, he saw her licking her paws. He knew what that face was about… that was her smug look. It was her eyes that gave it away. She would look up at him and then close her eyes while licking. He noticed also, that she was licking her paw pads, basically the equivalent to his palm. She knew he was hurting and she was mocking him. Without a second though, he pumped his chakra into his hands. He would finish this.

His anger was reducing his focus… he started to notice that a lot of things were doing that today. Maybe he just wasn’t having a good day today. Whatever the reason, he was getting a bit aggravated by his lack of focus and his general lack of discipline. After all the training he underwent with his mom to gain focus and control, both of which she constantly chooses to ignore, he would think he’d have better focus than this. But it was something about that stupid cat… that ignorant little black fluff ball that could easily destroy him if she felt like it. That thought plagued him to no ends. He could easily be wiped away if Etna truly felt like it yet she hung around, teaching him, tutoring him… torturing him. What was she after? What was her game? Either way, he couldn’t let it bug him. He held fast and continued pushing his chakra.

A still stream, a calm summers day, a single point of light, these were the types of things that Roy had read that others used to focus. These are the images that people would either go out and obtain and witness or picture with clarity in their minds. Roy… was a bit different. If one was to ask him what he focused on when he concentrated, his answer… in the end would simply equate to chaos.

What other chores does he have to do? How much time before he can get another game? When was truly the best time to skin a cat? Where did one gather those cool ninja accessories he always saw girls wearing but never saw the shops too? Why was the sky blue? Multitudes of questions and thoughts racing through his mind all at once and yet, one by one. They were Roy’s focus and Roy’s alone. He was fairly confident that no one else could focuse if they had things like this running around up there.

What are you so happy about boy?

That thought blasted through his mind, in Etna’s voice none the less. He had to recollect his thoughts as he almost lost the entire bundle of sand. He looked down to the cat for a moment but she seemed completely unaware of the transactions in his mind.

Was Etna psychic? Where did she com from? How did she live for so long? What was her real history? When did she learn to talk and ninja arts? Why didn’t she simply leave?

These questions consumed his thoughts now and became his new point of focus. In his head, it would seem like a session of politics at a Bazarr; far too many voices, way to little space. Over and over he asked himself these questions and gathered what information he could to try and come up with a reasonable explanation for it all. But each time, the pieces simply didn’t fit, or rather, it may be better to state that there weren’t enough pieces to get the full picture. Either way, he was no in a deeper state of mind. His focus and his chakra were back.

The pain passed… slightly. The gritting of his teeth slowed to a slight shifting. He was done.

Opening his hands, he still had a few grains of sand in the cuts, which were red almost with blood now but they weren’t there yet. He glanced about for a moment and soon completely opened his hand. There, sitting nice and still in his hand was a stone made of compressed sand. He put this one in his pocket as well and moved back over to the pile of sand. Etna kept a glare on the boy as he walked. With an almost smug appearance, he whipped his hands on his jacket and gathered up some more sand. He was over halfway done.

The sand was starting to not sting as much. Probably because as much as possible had already slipped into the cuts and scrapes on his hand. He winced only slightly but looked away for a moment. He looked off to the sky and smiled gently as he did. His hands cupped the top and bottom of the pile of sand once more and his chakra began to flow freely. He was getting closer to finishing this and he could see the end on the horizon. He wanted this done now.

Yumi lifted her head up after she had regained some strength. She pushed her body up and then slowly pulled her legs so that she could sit on them comfortably, instead of the hard ground below her. Her body showed all the scratches and bruises from climbing the cliffside, but it was well worth it. She watched Roy with curiousity as he trained.

Shuiro was relieved. Did Etna just seriously say I was done...?Roy's not even done yet, how can I possibly be done before him? The thought truly did bewilder her, however the look in the feline's eyes was proof enought tthat she was serious and her words were not some sick joke juts to tease her. Looking over casually from the tired girl the the annoyed Roy, she watched him for a while. Well, she didn't really watch him... in the way that normal people watch. Three down for him... Didn't Etna tell him anything besides the instructions at first? No, I would have heard her if she did... Hmmm... He stomach growled, interrupting her thoughts for the millionth time. "I'm gonna go run and get some food... I'll be back soon." Giving them a short wave, she took off at a jog, she'd probably get food for her teammates too. She had no clue what Etna would want though. Food, food, food, food, food!

Appearing on the plateu once more, at a slower job this time so the food wouldn't get messed up, she came slowly to a stop before her two teammates and started handing out the goods. First to the girl, she gave a cup of ramen, that was sealed and still warms, a few sweet buns, a wrapped set of onigiri and a water. Dang she's all beat up... doesn't she carry ointment or anything with her? Or does the Gig guy not let his students treat their own wounds? Then moved to Roy and set the same things next to him, only his onigiri wrapper had the the hint Etna had given the girl written on it. "Here... you need to eat... It'll make it easier to conentrait on a full stomach." C'mon... atleast open up the rice balls... Her eyes were serious and showed this immensley as she backed away and sat down with her own bundle of food. Etna said that forcing your chakra wasn't going to work... she said to just let it flow... Popping the lid off of her ramen, she slipped the wooden chopsticks from their paper shieth and dug into the warm deliciousness, all the while projecting mentally... Open the rice balls, Roy... just do it... eat soemthing!

(I dunno if he could get +2 for his next turn because she gave him the advice, or the +2 for each turn because it's really Etna's advice... I leave it to you.)
