Veria turned and walked over to Demi. She fell to her knees and pulled somthing out. Carfully placing it onto her chest. The single phonix feather that demi had givin her. It was said to heal any wound... if only it was enough to heal a dead phonix. She hung her head low, "aunty you were kind to give me something personal from you. Let this single feather be my token of both appreation and my regard as to the love i havn't been able to express to you. Forgive me, and please accept this gift back..." she suddenly broke into tears as she sat there. However it seemed paradioa had to speak to keria, "you may have to find the body of evelyn now that it is no longer under ameiles control. I'm sure you can trace it misstresss... however the longer you wait the weaker the soul will be..." Veria sniffled as she spoke in a frail vioce, "at least you could spare her... i should have been here. I should have teliported demi out of here when ameile even thought of hurting her... i should have known better... i should not have been afrade." She grabbed hold of her uncle, "I'm so sorry uncle!"

Kiera stared down at the ground. "Amelie.. She always knows what she's doing.." She shook a little. "She probably... Planned all this before it happened.." Kiera let out a little insane giggle. "Mother knows everything.." Mordekai went silent for a while before he finally looked up. "Veira.. Please let go of me." He shrugged free of her grasp and stood up with Demi in his arms, already starting to go cold. Which was ironic for a Phoenix. He looked down at Veira dully. "Stop doing that. Stop pitying yourself. No one ever knew what Amelie was thinking. So its pointless to blame yourself over something that couldn't have been controlled." The life looked sucked from him. "I want to get out of here." He slowly walked to the hole that Kiera was in. "Kiera. Straighten up, I want out." Kiera shook a little and looked up to Mordekai gently. "That's... That's probably a good idea." Kiera dragged herself to her feet and leaned on the side gathering her strength, before climbing out of the hole. "Where do you want the body?.. I mean.." She stopped herself. Mordekai saddened again as he dipped his head down to Demi. "I don't know..." He winced. "This family is ******** cursed." He looked up. "Nothing used to happen to me or Demi before we started getting involved! Our first son died because of it! And now Demi too!" He weeped again. Kiera straightened herself out as she became more serious and stopped shaking. "Demi knew what she was getting into when she asked to come with me, uncle." Mordekai stared at Kiera. "Don't be so cold blooded. Haven't you got an inch of regret for any of this?" Kiera made sure Paradioa was safely on her back as she looked away. "Of course. But there's not much point whining about it now." She suddenly looked to him. "If you'd like. I can go back in time and make sure that Demi never died." She tilted her head. "But before you answer you must know that time travel comes at a very big price. For both the person doing it and the people around me. If Demi lives. Then Amelie will most likely live as well." Mordekai stared unblinkinly at Kiera.

Paradioa's eye glared, "not a wise act at all... when one fools with time sure on may be spared, or more, but in the proces fate will take another life int he process... if you also do so you can change the course of history and make another who paridox happen... which could also go many other ways..." he spoke wisely as veria wiped her eye, "but it may be a sacrifice worth giving, it sould be anyone one thats wanting to die or is living ahard life taht goes for the sake of a mother to live." It was all up to keria and mordikei now.

Kiera's eyes thinned. "Shut up, both of you. Paradioa I know all the risks. You need to stop schooling me on my own power. This is for Mordekai to decide. I'm sure he doesn't need any more confusion from you two." She focused on him. "After all, it is a large decision." Mordekai stared at Kiera then glanced to Veira and back to Demi. "You don't... you don't chose who gets to die, do you?" Kiera blinked lazily and folded her arms over her chest. "No." Mordekai looked up to her. "Will I remember anything.. if you do it?" Kiera shook her head. "Only myself and Paradioa will know." Mordekai exhaled. "Not even Veira?" Kiera shook her head and waited a minute. "So what will it be?" Mordekai winced. "I can't.. I can't wish a death on another person to save someone I love. That's not what Demi would have wanted either. You mentioned other risks with time travel, but I'm not sure Demi would want this. No one wants Amelie to live, either." Kiera nodded slowly. "Are you sure?" Mordekai frowned. "No."

*Veria looked sadly to the ground and went silent. Meanwhile Paraioda shied, "vary well mistresss...." it seemed it really was mordikeis choice. Veria held up a hand, "keria before he answers... i want to know somthing... how did mom kill her. she didn't seem to do anything at all... i mean... maybe i can reverse it. I have her DNA, and with her feather also... i may be able to reconstruct her body... from a jar of pee." She looked up with hope, "but i have to know, how did mother kill her..."

Kiera glanced to the side to look at Veira. "I'm not prepared to tell you that." Mordekai frowned. "W..why not?!" Kiera looked back to him. "Self-preservation, Mordekai. I don't exactly want more ways of how to kill my kind going around." Mordekai scowled. "Just tell us!" Kiera's expression dulled a little. "Since technically a Phoenix is immortal, nothing is supposed to kill it. There are only a few ways known to us. And even these are very difficult. The way that Amelie used was a little counterproductive." She looked to the floor. "To get the jist of it, Amelie knew she was going today." She looked up to Mordekai. "So she was dragging Demi along with her. Quite literally." She blinked lazily. "In the time she had a hold of Demi she made a bond between her soul and Demi's. Which is why when Paradioa broke the connection, Demi's soul got ripped out of her body. And she died. The killing method is called bonding sacrifice. It's become a ceremony in little Phoenix circles." Kiera shrugged. "Honestly, I thought at the time she was using a different method." Mordekai looked away. "So Veira's idea won't work." Kiera shook her head. "Unfortunately not. Wherever Amelie's going. Demi's going too." She focused on him. "So uncle," She held out her hand. "What will it be..?"

*Verias eyes widened as she walked up and snatched evelyns soul, "But ameile was attatched to evelyns soul as a sorce, meaning if she attacted demi then she would be included into shortstraws bonding soul for evelyns soul, meaning... shortstraw may be able to litarly defragimant demi from the soul... even if most was lost, if he can find a fragment of what was connected beforehand, you see ameile was just a tiny fragment, where demis was a full soul. So if demis soul went with amiele, there would be a replacment on evelyns in the size of ameiles soul fragment when she paired..." Paradioa glared, "that is conffussing... however i find that correct. Still as mistress had explained..." veria shot him a look, "she dosn't know what happened to ameiles fragment now does she. Thats becuse of what i just explained." She looked to keria then mordikei, "it's a estimated to be about a 15% chance and doughtful, but it's somthing." She wasn't going to let this go, she had to give it her all...

Kiera let out a small sigh. "There are different kinds of bonding, sister." She brought back her arm and looked into her palm. "There's the kind like Evelyn and Shortstraw. Live together, die together. Not because one holds some of the others soul, but because of a different bond that was made in the process. The only connection Amelie had with Evelyn is that they had a regular Demon deal, not anything that Evelyn and Shortstraw had." She glanced to Veira. "If it was all to do with the share of souls, then Amelie with the minimal power that she had would have probably accidentally just broken off a chunk of Demi's soul. Amelie is not experienced in soul sharing. Only Angels and Demons can do it effectively and easily. Amelie is none of the sort. She was able to kill Demi because it's a different kind of bonding. More like a weave than a mix. The intertwining of beings. Amelie knew that from when I was Ying and Yang. We were two beings weaved together." She frowned a little. "That's why I almost noticed.. a little softness in Amelie before she died." She shook her head. Mordekai walked away and little and went to sit on the ground, lay Demi gently on his lap and put his hands to his head. "It's all.. just too confusing... forget it.. Just forget it.." He clenched his fists in his hair. "I just want to go home.."

*Veria sadly looked down then whsipered, "kyle is just a boy... he will have to live without his mother wether you go back in time or not. If we can't find a way in the present then... theres no other way." She stepped back, and held out her hand, "i will be heading home... just after i talk to uncle one last time. to see if is should bring kyle to him or not. in the meantime if you wish i can take evelyns soul to her body if you have it located." She offered. surly she felt she was a failiur. She wasn't able to help her uncle... or her aunt. it was too sad... such good people who was just being freindly to the familiy just lost everything and crashed. Now burning. It was just... too sad for her to think of kyle growing up without demi. For her uncle to live on with kyle without demi even.

Kiera nodded with a small smile as she took Evelyn's soul. "It's fine, I can take the soul back. I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more use." She glanced to Mordekai. "And I'm also sorry that I couldn't take better care of your wife, uncle. We didn't really start out well at first, and we were just starting to get along. I hope this hasn't ruined it. And I take full responsibility for what's happened today. It was my fault." Kiera nodded and patted Paradioa's coffin. "Okay, lets go find Evelyn's body." She then disappeared. Mordekai dipped his head to Demi's stomach and started to break down again. After having a little hope up to get Demi back it was tugged away from him again. No, Demi wouldn't have wanted to bend any rules just to get her back. But now he was alone with Kyle. How would he explain to a little boy that his mother was gone and wasn't coming back? Not the same way he had to inform Demi of their first son's death all those years ago.

*Veria stepped up beside mordikei and slumped down beside him sadly, "...uncle... if thers anything i can do... i will. And right now kyle is at home wondering wher eyou are... from here... if you wish you can... cut the rest of us off and all that stuff. It does seem whenever anyone in our familiy groups together someone gets hurt... and my mother had been playing these games all her life, even disgiused as keria without keria relizing it... everything was a play for all of us and... well i know it isn't much..." she teared up, "but your son shouldn't have to be alone right now... you should go to him..." she held out her hand, "I can take you to him or bring him to you. Which would you like?" Meanwhile shortstraw was still at home in wonder of everything thats happened. so many questions, was everyone alrgith, they had been gone a while...

Mordekai frowned and shook his head. "I don't want Kyle seeing his mother like this." He looked to Demi's paling face. "I want Kyle to remember her as he saw her last. Confident and caring." He frowned more and covered his eyes with his hands. "I don't... I don't know.." He grit his teeth together. "You'd think I'd be so used to death by now.. from how long I've lived..." He rubbed his eyes. "But I never ever expected it from someone like Demi... anyone but her.."
Kiera soon appeared back at the castle, with Evelyn's unconscious body in her hands, soul restored, and Paradioa on her back. She looked to the others as she carefully put Evelyn down on the bed. Kyle looked up hopefully as he grabbed onto Kato's leg. Dante brought Kato in a while ago to comfort Kyle. "The others will be a bit delayed." Kyle looked up to her. "Where's... where's mom and dad?" He asked shyly. Kiera winced and leaned over to Shortstraw to whisper in his ear guiltily as she put Paradioa down next to them. "We have a dilemma.. Amelie's dead but.. so is Demi."

He didn't expect that outcome... demi was stronger then keria he figured. He patted kyles head as he looked to him, "their going to be alittle late..." he answered as he looked to keria. Surly there was more to this... somthing maybe he could help with as he walked back up, 'wait isn't phonixes suppost to heal, or ressurect or somthing... god no wonder mordikei left so suddenly...'

Kiera looked to Evelyn and stood at the side of the bed. 'Amelie stole a tablet from my drawer that had the instructions on how to kill a Phoenix. In killing Demi, she also sacrificed herself too. It was a complicated process. And now Mordekai isn't dealing with it too well. Veira's trying to talk to him. But we aren't sure what to do. We can't do anything to bring Demi back, unless it's breaking the rules. Mordekai doesn't want to anyway.' Dante grinned back to Kyle as he sat him on his lap and started to play with him again to keep him occupied as obviously Kiera and Shortstraw became more serious. That was never a good sign. Not after what they all just experienced with Amelie. "Daddy sometimes goes away for stuff.. but mommy is always there when he's gone." Kyle frowned a little. "I don't like them both being gone." Dante smiled and fiddled with Kyle's little hands. "I'm sure they'll be back soon. Don't worry, Kyle. Your parents are the strongest and kindest people I've ever seen. They wouldn't just leave you."

*Shortstraw pulled keria aside alittle more, "s**t." He scratched his head, "okay okay... what about we forget about revivle. It would be cheating, but could it be possable for veria to make a new demi... like using the old parts to actully find a way to litarly make her whole again. I mean... what is she missing her soul? If she still has a brain, and body, then veria can place a knew soul compatable, and maybe demi will be able to live... then again i would think she would already thought of that..." he put his head on her shoulder, "i wish evelyn was awake, she is uslly the one with answers about this stuff..." he looked to keria, "i'm glad your okay though. I was worryed when they started talking about russon rullet... i know it's not the moment, but i felt like i may neer see YOU again. I know how mordikei must feel... there has to be somthing we can do..."
