Maybe it is DoW 2, but Id think it would take more time than a year to redo Dawn of War.
And yes, Dawn of War is one of the most successful computer games of its genre, and its become a big franchise now.

The might do what Ubisoft did with Double Agent. Developped it from Day 1, and released Pandroa and Chaos Theory inbetween to make some money and test out their new stuff in the field.

We have ourselves a nice little conversation here.

I guess thats a possible part of Relic's plan, but most usually leave more than a year between the games to milk all possible money out of it.

Well, the beauty of this is, with the engine in place you already have yourself a very solid base. Most time will of course be put into post production again, mainly the balancing process.

And if the full scope of the CoH engine is to be used, I think we can expect buildings and terrain that can be plowed through and blown up. Maybe removal of the clone effect as well.

Excellent...
I hope this next installment will revamp the concept of Dawn of War's genre. It needs to revolutionize the gaming world, and inspire a sea of awesome games. I hope it will also recapture my dwindling interest in the repetitive game.
Is there some feature if CoH that allows your troops to smartly take cover and positions? Do you think that will be integrated into this upcoming game?

Yes, CoH uses a smart cover system where infantry will find the best cover while maintaining squad coherency.

I am hoping for inclusion of other races myself along with those already present. Tyranids would be a welcome sight, as are the Witch Hunters.

I dont understand the significant difference between the witch hunters and space marines...

You're kidding right.

In this universe, can you see the difference between the Army and the Catholic Church?

I kid you not.
I thought that Space Marines are the super soldiers of the Imperium, but the Witch Hunters are a sect or specific group of Space Marines who deal with Eldar and Witches.

You might want to read up on the Ordo Hereticus then. The OH are the military arm of the Imperial Cult, also known as the Ecclessiarchy (sp?) and was born from the ashes of the Age of Apostasy. They are a completely different faction and organization from the Adeptus Astartes.

I shall wikipedia it immediately!
I'm not that excited for Tyrannids however.

Well, I am. Chittering hordes of monsters has something dramatic to it. I'm looking forward to fighting off something like that with a fatal desperation.

Oh yes, you just read my mind on that part. I always imagine say a few select space marine survivors plus a chaplain and a commander knifing and battering their way through countless bugs, even though all hope is lost.

I prefer the "equal" numbers approach. In my case a line of Imperial Guard. Hohoho whee Hold the line, no matter the cost.

In the Iron Guard picture, the one beneath the Commissars fist is a chimp.

Uhm, nani? The one featuring a commissar has Cadians, not Mordians.
