He leans down and kisses her forehead, "I'll try not to get hammered then. As long as I'm only a little drunk, I don't usually have any problems getting home or anything silly like that."

Since it's totally a japanese (especially japanese girl) thing to want to cook for the person you like, he accepts. Although really, he can cook ok himself."

So she drags him down to the kitchen and makes them some food. Some authentic Japanese food because he prolly hasn't had it in a while.
