*Luke's frowning, but it lessens as he sees Tavin's relax. Which prompts him to say.* How are these working in here?

*Tavin stares at the trinket for a moment, speechless. he understood what melli had said, but.. no, he wasn't imagining it. There was more to it. Deeper. He slipped it on around his neck.*
Well, Luke... Magic is supressed in this place. But THIS, it isn't magic. But none of that matters.
*Tavin looked at Melliandra again and smiled. He felt something inside he was almost afraid to admit feeling when he looked at her. Hope.*
Melliandra, you know that you'll never get this away from me now. Shall we discuss the ritual?

*Luke's eyes go back and forth between the two. It wasn't magic? Then what the ******** was it?* Ritual. *Luke stands, arms crossed, waiting to hear what they're going to say.*

*Tavin sits down, breathing a sigh of relief. He could still feel it.... but at the same time, it wasn't anywhere close to being as difficult to handle as before. He shook his head. To think he would end up relying on such dark forces. Truly, he was one of God's Sons no more.*
There are two parts to the ritual. The first will seal its enchantments. The second will be more difficult. That will seal its power. As you are no doubt aware, Melliandra, you will have to do the lion's share of this work. You know Ordrian's Rhyme I assume? And the twelve unholy glyphs of warding?

*Yeah, if only I hadn't left my decoder ring in my time. He has enough sense not to say this out loud. Luke has many questions, but ... he rests his fist against his mouth. He lets Tavin keep going and pays attention to what is said - even if he can't understand it.*

*Tavin nods, but his expression grows serious*
I'm going to teach you the twelve HOLY glyphs of guarding. That alone should ensure that... I can never reach Heaven again, but you'll need more. Saint Christopher's Hymnal, The Oaths of the Patrons, and... A sacrifice of blood.

*Quite inexpicably, Luke looks at Tavin and frowns. For a moment, he isn't worried for himself or Melliandra.* And where is that coming from?

*Tavin looks at Melli and then at Luke*
From me.
*Tavin locks Melli in his gaze*
And Melliandra... Do you really think you CAN cut me? I'll sacrifice the blood myself.

*Luke knew it. What he didn't know was - Melliandra can't cut Tavin. Just like Hajime's sword couldn't cut the Seraphim.*
*He breathes out into his fist, then pulls it down. He gives them a few seconds to say anything else, before he addresses them.* I don't know what "the twelve unholy glyphs of warding" are, or what The Oaths of the Patrons are, or why we need Tavin's blood.
*When they're both looking at him.* You know more about this ... *says rather calmly* Let me rephrase that. I know nothing about this. What could go wrong? *pause* What am I looking at here? You tell me.

*Tavin stands up*
Not much, Luke. As long as Melliandra knows what she's doing, it'll go fine. I know that she has the power to do this. But let's get to the library. I need to get out the books needed and we need to go over the proper way to draw the signs.
*Tavin heads towards the library*
There's no point in wasting any more time when the goal is withing reach.
