All of it begs the question, though...if a rubber band is stretched far enough...can you get it to snap?
And are some of those rubber bands, those ties to one's 'home' universe...stronger then others?
Could I, for instance, destroy someone who is less 'important' in the cosmic scheme of things and have it...stick?

Querl Dox I don't think you comprehend what I mean. I could terminate your life functions here and now...but next month you'll be back in your universe, unscathed, unremembering of the incident as you stumble through your daily routine.
WITH. NO. AFTER-EFFECTS.
The heart of the Nexus is intent on maintaining the status quo outside of it's realm. Like a rubber band snapping back into shape. The same could very easily be said of the two universes that it connects, Dox.

*Ducks.*
That's an interesting idea, but what would be the force behind that? How would the metaverse you know, quantify your cosmic importance?

In some ways, perhaps. But everyone REMEMBERS the day Superman died. It has a lasting effect. Not so here.

Could I, for instance, destroy someone who is less 'important' in the cosmic scheme of things and have it...stick? Well.
That's disturbing.

Well, that throws everything into a new perpsective isn't it... Also might explain why everyone is a bit more reckless around these parts.
Not being able to die and all. I always tought that was because this place was a bar after all. Nurturer of the fearless and brave...

Technologist Tony Stark *Ducks.* That's an interesting idea, but what would be the force behind that? How would the metaverse you know, quantify your cosmic importance? THAT is the QUESTION, isn't it?!
What CONTROLS the Metaverse? What exactly IS its heart? Nearly all of the questions boil down to this. Why are we here? WHAT has brought us here?

Querl Dox In some ways, perhaps. But everyone REMEMBERS the day Superman died. It has a lasting effect. Not so here. The universality of the phenomenon is what's most remarkable, I think. Ouch! *Looks at Janet balefully.* What was that for?

People KNOW things here they SHOULD. NOT. KNOW. They act in ways they never would in their own universe. Complete leaps of logic can be rendered inconsequential by the very nature of who happens to be in the room at the time!
The more you try to wrap your mind around it, the more complicated it becomes...
