CrazyRob Queen of the Blue Twins Am I like the only child in history that was to terrified of my parents to attempt to skip school? confused I guess I didn't really have much of an option to skip since I had nowhere to go and it really never crossed my mind to skip. When I got to college, then I skipped...but it was for different reasons like oversleeping and whatnot. Yeah that's pretty much why I didn't skip school either. I'm not really terrified of my parents. I just didn't skip because I had no where to go, and no way to get anywhere. I didn't have a car until I was out of high school. And I didn't have friends who would skip with me. So there was no point, I wouldn't have gotten away with it, and even if I wasn't afraid of getting in trouble, what's the point if you know you can't get away with it? LOL. I think I skipped some classes in middle school and I did skip a class in high school though. I was dead tired and I had PE in the morning and the coach was a real jerk. So I said I was sick and went to the nurse, who was pretty rude to me. If I'd actually been sick it would have been bad. She sent me back to class pretty much right after I got there, and I just ended up wandering around until it was time for my next class. But I never skipped an entire day without my parents knowing. I've skipped a few college classes but with good reason. I was sick an entire week and just could not go (and I actually wanted to go to class, that put me behind pretty badly) and I skipped to take my boyfriend back to the airport. And I did oversleep for a class once. I turned my alarm clock off in my sleep. That was really weird...

If I could have fallen asleep in that class, I would have. He wouldn't let anyone lie down in the bleachers. Yet he let people sit on the bleachers and not participate. Made no sense. I almost always sat because I hated him and I hated that class. That was the second semester of that year. The first semester, I had a different coach, and he made us work, but he was nice and I didn't mind participating. The second guy was just a jerk and made me not want to bother, so I didn't.

Yeah, I was afraid of my parents.... but keep in mind 25 yrs ago corporal punishment in the home was the norm and expected, not illegal like in most states today. Not that my parents came anywhere near abusing me but it only took once to know you never wanted to meet dad's belt again!!

Not that my parents came anywhere near abusing me but it only took once to know you never wanted to meet dad's belt again!! Yeah. My parents were never really ones for spanking or physical punishments. Which I'm very glad for. It was my grandparents I was afraid of. That and other adults sometimes. Apparently my mom didn't want people such as baby sitters, preschool teachers, etc to spank me but if it happened she didn't know about it because I didn't know I should tell her about it at that age. It was like, I did something wrong or someone got mad at me and nothing I could do because I was smaller than they were. I'm kind of glad stuff like that is illegal now, but I think it is getting a bit ridiculous when parents get mad at teachers, etc for barely even touching their children.

Edi Nippoli I never really skipped, but I just stayed home a lot. Or slept in class. I stayed home a lot. Probably something like 3 out of five days in 9th grade. It got better each year...but odly enough, I had the highest grades in 9th!
