Evan nodded, and repeated himself.

"Sorry. I was just asking if I could have your number, as an emergency contact. I know Winter can take care of herself and that it might not be necessary. Still, I like being prepared for any contingency. Blame my military training or whatever- it's just me being cautious. So may I have your number, please?"

"Oh! But of course."

She waited till he got his mobile phone out and then told him her number. It was to her mobile, as she had not yet purchased another flat to live in. She had her eye on one though, just outside Barton East.

"Is yours still the same as earlier?"

The waitress came by and put a tall glass of steaming hot chocolate in front of Evan, with a generous helping of whipped cream on top. A long-handled spoon and a black straw were sticking out from the cream.

He thanked the waitress, then nodded to Nedyfay. It was always good to have a few people to contact in case things were going wrong- that way, more options were open to a possible resolution. His mind was working in tactical mode now, even as he smiled politely and gave her his number.

Then, as soon as it had started, it had stopped and he was casual again, his mind calm. He took a sip of the hot chocolate and smiled.

"Wow, this really is some good stuff. Thank you. I might as well pick up your tab, seeing as you didn't have to order one for me."

She waved him off, saying that she was more than happy to pay for his as well as her own.

"You can take me out once, instead," she suggested, jokingly. There was no need for her to take down his number; she already had it plottet into her mobile phone as well as in her list of telephone numbers in the refillable diary.

He shrugged and grinned, catching the joke. "Oh, are you sure you want that? I go to some wild parties," he joked back with a wink. This is how he wanted to talk with her- heck, with anyone. Perhaps he would make a connection with Enki or Tellus- well, maybe not Tellus. She still irritated him slightly.

But he would definitely have to get in contact with Enki Leviathan again. If nothing else, he would be a business partner of sorts. A partnership with Leviathan Inc. would boost his already high reputation to new heights. But that was for later.

Right now, he simply enjoyed himself.

She shook her head with a smile. Of course he went to some wild parties, but that was not for her. Her preferences were quiet, bordering to boring; the best date she had been on lately had been wine, chocolate, and board games back at his place. Nice and calm, in other words. Big crowds and loud music was not for her at all.

"Nah, take Winter in my place then. She loves to party, or so I hear."

That was true, too - the rich and glamorous did throw some very wild parties, and Winter had been to most of them the past year. She had never appeared in one of the papers, though, at least not in the articles about how drunk someone had been. Of course, she had been taken pictures of, but just because she as there the camera was at a convenient time.

Evan nodded at this. He didn't know about Winter, but he liked to party quite a bit. In any event, he smiled and looked out the window. Getting late... the sun was starting to set already, and it was getting to the point where it would be nighttime in a few hours. He still had things to do...

"Hey, it's been nice... but I'm sure you have some other things to take care of. I have to go and finish up in Durem. But I'll be sure to give Wint a call when I get back."

He wouldn't even mention anything about where she lived... he would invesigate that later. Right now, he needed to know if the ten digits on his phone were real. Sure, Nedyfay herself had given him the phone number... but he still had to know.

Evan chuckled softly as he watched her leave, then calmly finished his drink before going outisde, taking the note of Winter's address with him. But wait- he already had her address. Why did he take the note, except to throw it away?

Well, the reasons were his own.

In any event, he left the cafe, got into his car, and pulled out of the parking lot. Casually putting his car in gear, he drove slowly from the town of Latent. But as soon as he hit the open road, he opened up on the accelerator, letting the supercharged engine on the Viper do its thing.

Laughter, loud and merry, could be heard from the car. Finally... he had found her again.

"How long will it take..."

Blazestar Empire's VP, Lazenca Miranda, was walking up the street. He looked different than his latest appearance in the HOH tournament- it was in his hair and fur, which was some odd mix of black, white, and blue... more white than anything. He still wore his usual clothes, though... because you can't go wrong with black Dickies- double knee, cell phone pocket [currently empty]. Those things could be worn anytime, anyplace.

"Time may be up for her. Death, before birth... my blood is the catalyst for the most cruel fates." He frowned. "You'd better just be hiding, Alexia..."

And from a dark alley the man would be walking past, two hands would shoot out and grab him, pulling him into the darkness between buildings, or rather, more of a throw, as he would be voilently hurled, probably skidding along the ground from the sudden pull and throw.

The fact that his head was down didn't help matters. His eyes saw the movement, but he didn't react. Who would suspect that he'd have to be on guard all the time? The lessons we learn.

What...

He blinked, indeed fighting for his balance. The moment he had it, he immediatly turned, nothing more than a muted grunt vocalized as he eyed the one who'd snatched him.

And the who would not be something pretty. With a face covered in scabs and scars, it only made sense that the man would be wearing a cowled cloak that would cover most of his body and his head.

Now, the bad news was that the alley was one way, ending in a dead end on the other side.

The good news was that the disfigured man which began to approach seemed to be alone as he sort of bum rushed the VP.

The bad-er news was that two S-II hunter ghouls dropped from the rooftops from the surrounding buildings, blocking off the narrow alley's entrance at that moment. If anyone was to look up, they're notice two more atop the buildings, crouched and sort of snarling at they peered down over the edge.

Latent, once attacked by the undead, and once again, they were here, only this time, it was a small unit, infiltrating the town and appearing something like recon or scouts. It only made sense that the disfigured individual would be the leader. Though it seemed not to be a real smart leader with the whole bumrush and all. But appearances can be decieving.

Of course. Lazenca was... a big guy, and the guy was either really confident or really stupid to have picked him as a target. Never underestimate... Laz would be thinking that this guy was confident and had a plan.

He kinda saw the ghouls, only in that there were two people dropping down from somewhere, blocking the path... peripheral vision. His real focus was on the main guy who rushed him. There were a few things Laz could do, and the first one he thought of was defense. From a standing position, he pushed his right leg back. Arms up in front of his chest, limp wrist. He was leaning forward, but he seemed ready to just block the hit that was about to come. Tenma ne Gato.

"Please, no..." Because we care, his voice sounded like there were two different people talking simultaneously, with a heavy reverse reeverb echo behind it all.

And the disfigured one never slowed down, running straight into the man, arms grabbing for hold of whatever he could grab around the general upper body of Laz (Assume shoulders or so.), chest colliding with his arms which were up if he didnt do anything about it.

The attempt would be to tackle him over, in a rather brutish kind of way where you throw your body weight into the other person's upper body, attempting to tilt their center of balance and sort of grab onto whatever and drag them down when you fall or so. That would be the plan, immobilization, thought it must have been weird from the leader to be doing this when strategically speaking, it was probably better for expendable assets like the undead to do the dirty work.

If this was done, grounding Laz, then the two other ghouls atop the buildings would leap down towards the disfigured one and the VP, claws and teeth bared, ready to shred at flesh.
