Everything was silent for a minute. No one was yelling, like the world was frozen.....But then of course nothing ever lasted. Of course she knew. She always knew, whether certain boys with their heads in the dirt noticed or not.

"S-SHUT UP!! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!"

Why did everything have to be so difficult...? Just one damn day, that was all she had asked for. One day where everything could be alright, one day where the voices in her head would stop screaming, where she wouldn't have to hurt herself to keep everything from falling apart. She didn't want things to be sad and painful. She didn't mind pain, it reminded her she was real. She just wanted them to be okay, her friends didn't deserve to be dragged down because of her stupid mistakes.

"Shut...up...STOP IT!!"

But no. Keeping people safe wasn't something anyone appreciated these days, apparently.....

Noticing people were looking at her, Kayako turned around and ran off back inside the ship, almost knocking over Asuka in the hallway. They didn't need to know. She could fix everything, no one else needed to worry. Of course she could fix it!! She ran to the pilot's bay and knocked Quinn in the head.

"Stop playing! Take...off...this DAMN ship. RIGHT NOW!!" not even paying attention, she pushed the speaker button on his console "KONNER!! Get your a** in here NOW or I swear to god I will leave your behind!!!"

'You know, don't you...? We have to go...'

'I know damnit!! I'm going as fast as I can!!'

At least one of the voices knew what it was doing.

Quinn looked at Kayako with very much the same terrified look a rabbit would give a wolf: mouth agape, obvious overbite readily apparent, eyes half-closed. She... HURT ME!! screamed his mind. He smacked another few instrument to get all the various gadgets and gizmos started up. A calming "whirrrr" sound rose from underneath the bridge. Grabbing hold of the joysticks, he let the engines warm a bit.

He shouted over the cacophony, "There's just one last thing..." He hit the music switch. As it started up, he gunned the throttle, singing along in a very monotone voice, "I like to dream, yes, yes, right between the sound machine..."

At the last minute, Asuka had grabbed Konner and flung him inside with her.

"Geez! What is that girl thinking...."

"Hurry up and get going!! I know for a fact Tolly pre-programmed the location of the Triga base on the map. Get us there, and FAST! Fly like your life depended on it...and it does..."

Kayako turned and took off running down the halls, searching for the staircase that lead into the ship's hangar. She didn't care if she fell when they took off. As long as they took off, nothing mattered.

((that post Ok, kayako-sama? Oh, here's another one, to! ^.^))
Images.
Men...clattering down tunnels with flashlights and picks...
Heavy digging equipment...
Scab...Coral....
wait? Scab..what? What the heck?wha..w...
Coral; the living core from which it was cut.
Pickaxes; dynamite...
Tearing, pulling it away...
It wasn't right. Not ready...
But, the men insisted. They swarmed around it, pulling it from the coral's embrace with their machinery, proudly exclaiming their folly as though it were something to be proud of:
It was angry.
It rejected the armor. It rejected the fools with closed hearts.
Metal, flashing.
A humaniod, gray-blue thing.
Silver armor, wire...
Bind it with cables and steel...
It had to return.
It was changing.
It needed the guidance; to change, to survive. The wicked purple light had chanegd it. But it wasn't able to cope.
metal, flashing metal can't breathe...can't grow...
thEAnsWerthEANSWertheansWeRTHeanswERtHeAnSwer!...
It had to be..
They had to be
Whole...
Or the change's wouldn't stabilize...
Gray remained lost in some depth of his mind, a viod of unconcious overlap, a fog where Mercury's and his mind ran together...
"...n...nna.....h....Kay...kaya..."
Gray mermured weakly in his "sleep"; still inert on the floor and looking half-dead.

The engines creaked as they worked their magic. Practically no one onboard knew how they worked, but everyone was quite content when they did. Slowly the ship taxied out of the hangar, hitting its right wing on one of the hanger doors. Once the wing had torn through that, Quinn hit the accelerator. A shock of blue flame came out the back of the engines, followed by a cooler redish-orange flame. He pulled back on the joysticks and watched the horizon disappear under his console.

They were airborne. For the first time in two years, Quinn was back and flying. He thought briefly about this, and eventually his mind came to the ship itself. It... doesn't even have a... He smiled and hit the announcement switch again.

"*ahem* Everyone... I'd like to announce the name of this ship. For henceforth, it shall be called..." He paused for a long, melodramatic time.

"SHUT UP QUINN!!!" came a yell from one of the radios on the wall of a hallway.

When she reached the LFO storage hangar, Kayako practically flew over to where the silver mech was, almost tripping as the ship took off. That blue-haired boy really was stupid sometimes, going into seclusion instead of telling her about it all. What part of 'everything he feels she feels' did he not understand?? As if she was didn't know exactly what she had to do!! Why did he think she'd pressed them all to leave so much??

"WAKE UP YOU IDIOT!!" was the only thing she could think to say to him while she shook him "Don't you listen?? I said we're leaving!! NOW GET UP!!"

She shot a glare at his LFO, like she could scare it into letting Gray have peace. 'You kill him...and I SWEAR I will tear you apart until there's nothing left!! You'll never make it back to that place!!'

With his wonderfully manly tushie set firmly in the pilot's seat, Quinn smiled. Comfy. He flicked his wrist and hit the intercom, turning it over to the announcement system.

"Yo, peoples, we're about to take off, QUINN-STYLE!! Fasten your beltseats and prepare to feel the rush of your stomach contents passing up your esophagus at an incredible speed! We don't have no stops on this flight, no sir! It's get on or get off at this point! We won't even let you stop for the bathroom; you're just gonna have to hold it in. Or use one of the onboard bathrooms... But remember: Quinn has the same number of letters as speed!" He paused briefly, realizing this was not witty in any fashion. With another flick of his wrist, he began to warm up the engines, but he couldn't help but add one last thing before he turned off the intercom.

"Also, I caught Medri reading dirty magazines! That is all!"

Medri quickly came into the bridge and gave Quinn a very hard Thwack on the back of the head, not hard enought o knock him out of kill him but hard enought ot give him a wicked evil egg on the back of his head. "Just wanted to tell everyone That I found a little none fatal glich in the AI... Just no one say." He held up a peice of paper that said... 'purple a**-apes' on it. "Say that we all go boom, I got the self destruct word messed up so if you say that we are all gunna die.... Bye now." He walked out of the room and quickly a small note pad that by the door flew at Quinns head again....
*and thus I sleep, damin I want a lap top!*

The thrust made Reiku to lose his balance for a minute, but he easily regained it and kept on walking down the hall. As he walked past the bay door he could hear a girl's voice screaming. He stopped and he relized it was Kayako's. He turned and ran down the steps and ran past the silver mech. He looked and saw Kayako holding Gray's head, a shiver ran down his back as he looked. "What happened here??" He thought to him self.

When she noticed Reiku standing there the girl just gave him a glare, not exactly sure why herself. Right now, everyone was secretly her enemy, it didn't matter who it was.

"Reiku....Just go make sure Quinn moves this ship to the base as fact as he possibly can. I can handle him." Kayako tried to keep it calm so the boy wouldn't worry, but her voice was shaky.

'It's still a little ways off.....Senturi can move faster than this ship.....not as fast as Mercury but maybe if I dragged it with me I could get him there faster...?'
PostPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:23 am

He gave a nod and rushed to the bridge not caring if any one was in his way. he slamed into the bridge panting." Quinn open up that throtel and get us moving faster!!" he was screaming at him he then turn back and rushed down the hall into the living room back towards the bay area he slid down the railing and stopoed mid way and went back to the bridge he knew kayako could handle gray but he wanted quinn to get this bucket of bolts moving even faster." hey if any UF pops up on the screen just fly threw them okay??" He glared out the window towards the blue and white sky."

Immediately after Reiku ran off, Kayako stood up and looked around, wondering if she really could fly faster than the ship. And LFO was definitely better at fighting wind resistance, not to mention military projects tended to have extra throttle to help evade attacks. Of course Mercury would slow her down a bit, but it could work.....

'Damnit boy, you better thank me for this....'

Checking around one more time to make sure no one was around to stop her, she picked up Gray by his arms and dragged him the rest of the way up onto his LFO, which of course he was next to since he never did anything without it. It took a few kicks to get the hatch open, but when it did she stuck the boy inside quickly. After all, leaving him here without his precious Mercury might make him upset. Gray would probably glue himself to his mech if he could.

Luckily for her, Kayako had left her chains attached to the silver LFO after she'd moved it inside the hangar for him, figuring it would happen like this. Nothing in life was easy, so it was only natural. After making sure the silver one's aero-fins were working she went over and climbed inside Senturi, pressing the panel button to open the launch pad while she was at it. Thank god Medri was a program nut!

"QUINN!" she radioed the control room; it would be too late to stop her now anyways "Gray and I are launching. Keep going, we'll meet you at the base!"

With that, Senturi shot out from the launch pad, falling downwards for a moment before the black and violet LFO flipped and caught a wave of trapar to ride on. Kayako made sure to grip the chains in one hand so she could keep control of the erratic mech being dragged along behind her, then went on ahead of the ship and turned quickly into a streak of black against the clouds.

If she was lucky, she could make good time on this.

Tolly had moved into one of the rooms in the lower level of the ship. He was watching the engines as they flew. In the engine room only two lights had been installed. Grabbing a ladder he headed up it and began wiring two more hallogen lights.

With that done he went back to watching the engines. They seemed to be holding well. The variable speed drives were chirping along at a steady 80hz..

"Good', he said out loud. Radioing the bridge he heard a fizz.

"Darn." Pulling off the cover on the comm pad he pulled out a control screwdriver and looked it over. 10 minutes later he had rewired it so the thing would work.

"Test test. Hey can you hear me Quinn?" the message went through.

"go ahead and run her up to full speed. But do it slowly, I want to make sure it doesn't cause problems. Also, watch out for UF ships. They're going to see us, but hopefully the serial signal will make them think we're a transport ship. Let me know if anything goes wrong. I'll be fixing things along the way as they crop up."

With that he went back and watched the engines drives.

The girl who had just launched wasn't even aware Tolly was there, though he probably heard her speak just then. Most likely the signal had gone over the loud-speaker.

The base was about two hours away by ship travel, so Kayako figured she could make it in thirty minutes if she tried hard. That was why she wanted Mercury's aero-fins working, so it wouldn't lag her too much. She left her radio open to the ship though, just so everyone would be able to tell her if something went wrong.

For now though, she just had to fly. Luckily, that was the one thing the purple-haired girl was trained to do extremely well.

"He said the fissure right? Not the base, the fissure next to it..." she said aloud, watching the specs on one of her screens.

"Hopefully it's big enough that I can ref down there....Cause dragging one LFO down there is bad enough...."

(((Trying to drag it out......It's harder than it looks. Somebody talk to me!)))

Trailing behind the purple and black LFO the new ship moved quickly. At times the engines would cut out and Tolly would quickly get them back online.

The system was still buggy. While most of the equipment did work, it was taking alot to keep everything communicating as it should. The automated logic programs had several rewrites that Tolly had to do himself.

He turned to Medri on more than one occasion to make sure they both knew what was being changed and how it would effect other systems.

A thirty minute period had been lost halfway through the trip. The right wing's rudder had locked in a turning position and refused to release. They had circled there until Medri had suggested cutting power and rebooting the wings main actuator power supply. It had worked and the ship moved on trying to catch up with Kayako and Gray.

By night fall the vessel was within site of the MAT facility near Trigga.

It was a huge facility with 4 runways and 7 buildings. The lights shown brightly against the darkness of sunset.

"Kayako should have already made her way here." Tolly said from the engine room. After Medri patched him through to the facility he had given the clearance codes for landing.

He opened a second signal to Senturi once they were on the ground.
"Kayako, repeat, Ugly bird to Kayako. The package is on the ground."

"Ugly-TOLLY! I swear if that's what they named the ship, someone's gonna die..."

Actually, Senturi was still moving to the bottom of the fissure, after all it was deeper than it looked and became a tunnel about halfway down. Kayako had landed well before them, and managed to climb down by having her LFO use one of it's chains to cling to the rock walls while Mercury was stuck hanging over it's shoulder. Damn thing was dead weight, but it was the one that wanted so bad to get down there anyways.

Once they found the tunnel, Senturi had to walk unfortunately since there were no waves underground and the rock around the cave floor kept the wheels from helping much. After about five minutes, the purple-haired girl was starting to notice archetypes up above them. That meant they had to be close, if not there.

Kayako stopped and set the silver LFO down next her hers, then disconnected her arms from the piloting locks. As she started to climb out, she watched Mercury like a hawk, wondering if it would do anything odd when she tried to get Gray out. After all it couldn't 'fix' itself with him in there.....
