schatz_ich_liebe_dich We only have one marching song with cowbells and thats low rider. thank god we dont do that song very often. btw we had a holiday concert with orch, chior and both bands. half of the people i talked to in the music department agreed with me that none of us were ready to go on stage. the concert itself, we bombed it. completely and utterly horrible.. even the parents were saying how bad it was. i'll say that was the worst concert i had ever done and i still think it was everyones fault for not being ready but most of all i blame my bd and the snow. none of us were ready. the only part of the md that didnt think we bombed was the wind enemble. well some of them. especially a couple of clarinets i know... i dont know if i want to do another concert with this band... they cant even focus and they talk to much in class. they dont listen to the bd and it just is horrible.. id rather be in a more mature band and not one thats going to mess up everytime we're away from the band room and pretty much ruin the bands rep. before the sophomores came this year we were known as the best concert and marching band... as said so by several californians and that was a compliment. after cali has some of the best bands in the country. I feel your pain. gonk After visiting with the Pride of Oklahoma for a day and watching them rehearse and play at the football game (OU vs. Colorado, to be exact)...yeah. It was really intense so intense that I was almost crushed by the sheer might and power of their intensity. eek Going back to my high school marching band felt like going back and visiting your elementary school and finding out that all the teachers who taught you are either retired or deceased. gonk But I loved visiting the Pride. It was great to watch a band that took what they were doing seriously, and were there because they wanted to be there. I'd highly recommend, if there are any colleges with awesome music programs in your area, to go and visit and see that there are, in fact, serious musicians out there.

schatz_ich_liebe_dich which one in cali though.. there are so many. i want to become a musician. there are so many things that i want to do and i dont think i have enough time to do it.... hm.....I know that the high school I'm supposed to go to [I'm thinking of considering it again...] is I think #4....I must say we have some wonderful art academys here too! sweatdrop I don't know, I only rely on my BD's sources to find this stuff out but, apparently my middle school is the best in western us...iono...I don't think we're ze best though XD
awe! We always have enough time :] I know we can't do everything we want to do, I want to be a musician myself. I know I can't go to both DBHS and OCHSA or play that one song with the Band or debut young [something I want to achieve O_o] or whatever. But, I must say we have more time then anyone to experience life ^^;
yeah that was random...

May_Rose5 Sheesh, am I the only one here who's been playing the clarinet for.....1.5 years?? Probably because all you people are in High School, and I'm over here in Junior High....I think....I don't know..... I discovered something weird a few weeks ago.....if you wear flavored chap stick and play the clarinet, the reed tasteslike the chap stick after just a few hours/minutes! I was so happy the day my reed was watermelon-flavored 4laugh ! Yeah, My friend always wears chapstick, and her reeds are permanently pink-colored blaugh

MiyokoxClarinetti I think one day I'm going to become a huge orch dork D: something makes me think that.... gonk And you just realized that now?!? You might not nessecarily be a huge orchestra dork, but you'll probably be some kind of band geek if not an Ultra-Famous Musician. (I'm not kidding.) No, I didn't die, I've just been very busy with school, band, Hapkido (it's going very well by the way), and Final Fantasy III (a really awesome game, you should go and get it right now if you don't have it), and DDR Supernova (See comment for FF III). I finally got my first AAA in DDR today. Miyoko, you need to believe in yourself more and be happy with who you are. I don't think you respect your accomplishments enough and you take your failures too seriously. I know I've probably stated this a gazillion times, but it's like you're wearing sunglasses and don't know it so you don't see how bright you are. (metaphorically speaking, of course.) May_Rose: I'm in 9th grade, technically in high school, but I go to a junior high (7th, 8th, and 9th grade). Don't feel so alone. I feel like Dr. Phil today.

Be famous!? o__o; hmm....::scratches head::
sometimes I hate my Band director, he never seems to be considerate of me, I asked him a few times if I could do a solo for the concert, he told me no, then our dear first chair flautist asks him this morning [the very day before the concert] if she could do a solo...he lets her...I just can't let it go pass by me when I tried my hardest >_<;;. Now Nick's first chair for the concert and I'm only first chair for one song, I just get angered because he's so inconsiderate of me, I try sustaining even if I'm turning blue and everything >_<;
then again, I'm being rather inconsiderate of what you just said crying i'm sorry nevira!
i'm just scared I might end up a little too vain like dsfjkald.chocokdjlkdasfvash.kldjfk....
time to practice~

Concert was last night!
I was concert mistress mrgreen Whenever FL called me the concert mistress I said, "Yes, I am the concert mistress! I rule you all! On your knees! I want you to beg for forgiveness!" twisted
But when I actually walked on stage...holy crow. It was dead silent for about three seconds before everyone started clapping. eek I'd like to think it was my goddesslike presence and the way I so gracefully alighted upon the stage like an angelic herald with a clarinet that made the audience fall silent...but it was probably because I don't wear heels that go "clop, clop, clop" really loudly and announce to someone out in the lobby that a woman's walking on stage stare Since the concert mistresses (yes, first chair clarinet in both bands has always been held by a woman) usually wear the clopping shoes and I didn't (I hate shoes that make noise), they didn't realize what the heck I was doing up there until I was almost to center stage. stare
But the concert went well...Wind Ensemble had to cut their program so that it would A) end at a decent hour and B) still sound like another Awesome Program Thought Up By Mr. Davis. stare
