吸血機 空 すながくれ|げんいん | ちぞけい | きゅけつき | えいせい しのび Dust. Cobwebs. The ground was beginning to crack from under management, and a thin layer of dust seemed to have settled on everything. The building was absolutely, one hundred percent, deserted. At least... that's what it seemed like. Sora sighed as she let her bag fall from her shoulder onto the ground. This is what happens when she goes to the hospital for a really long time... The doctor had said she was lucky to be alive. The lead poisoning from her paint-swallowing incident had left her really weak and her immune system lacking. Who cares if she wasn't "cleared" yet for physical training? After sitting on her butt for God knows how long, she was just itching to get back into practice. Sora? Wanting to work out? Hey, there's a first time for everything, really... The girl pulled out her headset and placed it over her ears. Instantly, the silence was filled with a a deep rumbling bass interrupted by occasional disk scratching. Whatever this music was, it was just background noise. Sora didn't really know how to describe it, nor did she really care. She just knew that it was called... dub... step...? The girl shrugged her shoulders as she sat down in one of the few cleaner circles of floor and began stretching. Oh God, it felt so good to finally do something besides lay in a bed!

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know....
Karonashi entered the training grounds, one of the scrolls he snagged from the library unfurled in front of him. The teen was studying it intently, for he had decided to learn one of the techniques from it. It wasn't one of the Sunaton techniques, but it was something he figured would be highly useful for a shinobi career. While maybe not as useful as the Sand Swimming technique was in his native environment, being able to walk along walls was something that had so many useful applications that it just set his mind teeming with possibilities. (1/3)
Karo rolled the scroll up and tucked it inside his bag. He stopped near the entrance to one of the training chambers, and blinked when he saw that there was already someone inside it getting ready for the day. With a slight nod to the girl, though it was doubtful she saw him, the teen headed over to a different chamber. Once inside he slung his bag down to the side against the wall, then tilted his head. The scroll mentioned running at the wall in order to get a good start for the technique, which to Karonashi didn't seem like a good idea. Sure, he'd be able to mount a few steps on sheer speed, he had done that before, but it just didn't bode well with him to try that method. Instead he sat down against the wall, then laid back with his feet on the vertical surface. (2/3)
The technique called for a steady application of chakra to the feet. Karonashi closed his eyes with one hand held up, helping him focus chakra and bring it to the forefront. A surge of his will sent the life energy down to his feet, where he swirled it around and forced it out through his shoes, making a thin blue shimmer cover the ninja sandals he was wearing. The teen concentrated hard on maintaining that flow of chakra - increasing it steadily until it was slightly difficult to pull his foot away from the wall. When he had that level ready, he brought his other foot up and higher along the wall. Slowly but steadily, the teen began rising up along the wall, step by step, leaving the ground. Soon, he was over halfway up the wall, but when he opened his eyes, the sudden vertigo offset his control and he fell downwards to the ground. He landed and coughed heavily - that had been painful. Looks like he still had some kinks to work out. (3/??)

It wasn't more than thirty seconds after he left his cave that David rose from the ground in front of the training facility, sand rolling off of him like water from the trip through the earth. Shaking his head to rid it of excess sand, the boy walked into the facility. Stalking quickly down the corridors, he followed a route he had memorized from one of the files he had read earlier, which lead him directly to a sealed door guarded by a single ANBU. Walking up to the door, he smiled slightly as the ANBU opened it for him. This was new, and enjoyable. Inside the room he saw rows upon rows of monitors, each apparently tuned to one of the many rooms in the facility. Most were off right now though, slightly disconcerting, as that meant the forces were a bit low. It didn't take him long to spot Karo on one screen, and taking note of the number beside it, he left the room.
A mere minute later, he opened the door to Karo's chosen training room, walking in just in time to see the boy fall off the wall. Raising one eyebrow slightly, he walked in the rest of the way, silently closing the door behind him. Reaching into his own bag, the boy pulled out a scroll and rolled it open partway, finding the technique the boy had just attempted described. Skimming it over, he memorized the details and stashed it back in his satchel.
"Did you alternate chakra between your feet properly?" David spoke out, announcing his presence with a question. The jutsu required one to swap the chakra supply from one foot to the other instantly, which would become harder and harder the faster you needed to move. That was probably why the jutsu was taught with running rather than walking as Karo had done. "Try running it like the scroll says, and remember to swap your chakra focus." he suggested, pointing at the wall.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi rose from the ground and brushed the sand from his back, then looked back. He had heard footsteps coming up, though the fact that it was David was mildly shocking. The teen raised an eyebrow and shrugged slightly. "I alternated chakra, but I did note a discrepancy in the changeover time. I surmised I would become more skilled at the changeover with practice. Running along the wall was my next step." He flexed his knees and waved at David, then dashed towards the wall. He ran at an angle instead of heading straight at it, and when he met the wall he tilted sideways and sprinted along it. Within moments he had perfected the transfer, and was circling the room. He sprinted above the doorway, then leapt off of it to land on the ground with a flexing of his knees. The teen landed beside David, whom he looked at curiously. "Did you come to find me for something Taicho?"

David watched Karo run the circuit around the room, nodding in satisfaction. Apparently he did in fact have the technique down. When the boy landed beside him and asked his question, he remained silent for a moment, and then, ignoring the question for the time being, walked up to the same wall himself. Staring idly at the wall for almost a full minute, the boy finally raised his right foot and placed it on the wall. He'd studied the scroll, albeit quickly, but he got most of the information. He'd watched the other boy run for long enough to surmise a bit more about the method, and what was left he could piece together in his own mind.
Slowly he leaked chakra into his foot, pasting it to the wall until he could not remove it. A few moments longer, shifting the levels up and down, and he felt he'd found the ideal state. Still, he left his foot there, holding the chakra steady until he could feel no fluctuation. After another full minute had passed of him seemingly just standing there with his foot on the wall, the boy lifted his other foot, calmly walking straight up the wall and onto the ceiling as if it were perfectly natural. Once he reached the center of the ceiling, directly above Karo, the boy stopped, and fell. In slow motion. Over the course of thirty seconds, David glided to the floor, his body rotating in midair until finally he landed flat on his feet, a light puff of dust rising around his heels.
Remaining silent a few more seconds as the dust settled, David finally looked up at Karo. "Yeah. Sorry about earlier, I kind of crashed." he explained, shrugging slightly.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi waved one hand dismissively. "It's not a problem Taicho, you had a lot heaped on you at the time. And I managed to work on my own a bit, so I wasn't completely floundering around." He brushed some sand from his pants and leaned against the wall as he studied his commander. The younger shinobi had the same expression on his face that he always did, so that didn't give the Genin any clue what was going through his superior's mind at the moment. He reached up and scratched a cheek with one finger as he tried to figure out why his sensei had shown up suddenly - he had avoided the question about needing Karo for something, but that didn't mean the answer was no. In the time that he had known David, he had seen that the Special Jounin's mind didn't exactly work at the same level as his did. Or perhaps not at a different level, but in a different fashion. Either way, David would reveal why he had come here when he was ready to, and nothing he could do would hurry it up. As he watched his Taicho the teen Genin popped several of his joints, causing the training grounds to echo with the sound of bursting air pockets and cracking bones.

A lot heaped on him? David quirked his head to the side, slightly confused. Had Karo found out on his own somehow? He knew that rumors flew fast in a ninja village, but he had sworn everyone in the room to secrecy... Maybe the boy was referring to something else. The last while had been incredibly hectic after all. Straightening up again, David decided to just tell him. "I need to tell you something. A secret of sorts." As soon as he had said the word secret, the sound of a deadbolt latching came from the room's only door. One of the ever vigilant ANBU sealing them into the room alone. The rooms were already soundproofed, making it almost the safest place in the village to reveal secrets.
After the deadbolt sounded, David slumped backwards, an odd thing to do with nothing behind him, but even as he seemed to sit on thin air sand flew out from his ankles, forming a chair under him. Yet another convenience of being the Ichibi host. "While we were training in the hole, I was called into a council meeting." he began, waving his hand in the general direction of the kage tower. "Turns out Jade caught some rare disease, and Aeden took her from the village to find a cure. Etsushi hasn't been heard from since she left for Kiri, leaving me the only candidate for the Kazekage position." David trailed off after that, giving it time to set in for Karo. The rest should logically be obvious enough after all.
"It's top secret though." David piped up again after a little while. Only ninja of the village are allowed to know, and it's not to be mentioned in public. We want the other villages to believe Jade is still in command. I doubt it's going to last long, but it's all we've got for now." he finally finished speaking, and leaned back in his chair to observe the other boy's reaction. Would he react the same as the people in the tower, or more like David himself would, with silent acceptance. Either way, it should be interesting. And once this was done with, they could finally get back to training for real. The new kage really didn't expect the secret to last long, and he needed to be stronger, strong enough to defend the village, before anything could come of it.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi blinked at that several times. He had been referring to the promotion from nowhere, but apparently the promotion went further up than he had thought. For several long moments the teen stood there, tilting his head to one side and then the other, pondering the implications of this. He could see why they needed to keep it a secret, if it got out who knows what the other villages would do, thinking them undefended. He rubbed his chin in thought, noting absently that he would need to pick up a shaving blade soon.
Then he looked to David, who seemed... tired almost, as much as he had ever seen his Taicho looking. He seemed to be waiting for something, but what it was... oh, the boy Kage was waiting for his response. He straightened up and bowed to the other shinobi. "Hai Taicho, I understand. If that's the case then we'd best get serious about training." He had been serious - nearly killing himself while practicing the Sunagakure jutsu for example - but since then, since David had learned the news himself, Karo had noted his own training was slacking down. He tightened the fist of one hand subconsciously - they would fix that, grow strong, strong enough to defend the village, strong enough for David to take that title in plain sight, instead of a hidden shadow.

David smiled at Karo's reply, quite pleased with it. He apparently understood how things needed to be now. That was good. Leaning forward in his seat, David focused a bit more on the boy, subconsciously tuning his senses to him for what would come next. "Indeed, we need to accelerate our training, both in techniques, and practical usage of them. I want to know everything you know yourself, and then we will learn a few more techniques. After that, a mission, and back again to the start, for as long as it takes." With that, the boy stood up again, the sand from his chair siphoning back into his pant legs where it had originated.
"One at a time, from most useful to least, I want you to tell me every jutsu you know, what it does, and a single practical application of it." he ordered, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the other boy, almost unblinking. It was an exercise he had thought of on the way over, and hopefully one that would both increase his own knowledge of his student's abilities, and his student's attunement to his own jutsu. He imagined that most ninja probably learned whatever was thrown their way, without really considering the practical applications of it. But David, he always had ten ideas of what could be done with a new jutsu before he was even done learning it, and that was what he wanted to bring out of Karo now.

かろなしかぐやろいヴぁす Let those who face me know.... Karonashi frowned and started ticking off the jutsu he knew, trying to go in the order that David had asked for. "Probably my most useless one is the Bunshin technique. I have another, more powerful clone technique already. Still, a useful application would be to combine this clone technique with my Suna Bunshin, which will add for a layer of complexity, and make it harder for people to know which they actually need to defend against and which are just illusions." He held up one finger, his face furrowed in thought. "After that is probably the Muki Suna Kaishin. The problems for this is the length of time it takes to convert any usable amount of soil into sand. I suppose a practical application for this would be if I was able to get into an enemy's armory, or get my hands on an enemy weapon while remaining hidden, I could turn what I found into sand and leave it useless." Another finger went up. "Then I have the Henge technique. It's fairly useful, in that if my enemy isn't paying attention, I can slip past guards undetected. However that's a fairly standard application for it, so probably not what you're wanting. I could also set up a trap while pretending to surrender if I'm allowed to designate the meeting place, by having a clone impersonate me while I hide under the illusion as say perhaps, a neutral guard." A third finger rose as the Genin thought. "The Sunagakure jutsu is also something that is useful, in that it allows me to escape into the sand at any time. This will allow me to surprise unsuspecting opponents, or perhaps escape from a fight that is beyond my level. I have also noticed that I travel faster under the ground than when I am above it, so I would also be able to use this for undetected courier work, at least so long as I am somewhere within the Land of Wind." A fourth finger joined the ranks. "Then there is the Suna Jishaku. This will allow me to pull sand to me from a distance - allowing me to recover sand that I have used in techniques against my foes, potentially giving me an unlimited amount of sand to use, much like your control allows you to recover your sand and bring it back to you Taicho." One thumb flicked out, marking the fifth technique. Karonashi thought for a moment as he brought his other hand up. "I also have the Suna no Yoroi. I left this one for later in the list simply because it is incredibly useful. This will allow me to protect myself without appearing to, giving a layer of armor that can't be detected... and which, upon studying, I have figured out will help defend me against a bloodline or two." He raised a sixth finger as a grin stretched his lips. "Then there is the Kinobori no Jutsu that I just learned. This gives me an additional direction to come from, raising above the two-dimensional that most ninja think in, allowing me to attack from the walls, or even the ceiling. It will also allow me to scale enemy walls with ease, or perhaps scale a cliff-side without needing equipment. Highly versatile, and if I use it with places other than my feet, a good way of holding onto my weapons." Seven fingers now stood up straight. "I can also manipulate my bones, but for now that is guesswork, not actual clan techniques." He demonstrated this by causing the bones in the fingers and thumbs he had up to extend outwards, breaching the skin and showing white for a moment. Then the finger bones retracted.

The genin walked through the streets of the village and arrived at the Training Facility. He stepped inside and closed the book, now holding and on his hand. " I have to start with something, so I might as well. " The boy mumbled, hair resting on his forehead, looking at the sand. He studied the sand and ran what the book said though his head. ' Make sure that the sand and sediments on the sand are varied, very varied.' The boy thought, and moved his lips as if he was talking, liping what he was thinking. ' Then place chakra into the sand and sediment. ' He continued to mumble, opening the book once more.

With the rocks and sediments now inside his hand mouth thing, Akura closed the palm of his hand as it began chewing the sediment, melding it with it's siliva and more importantly, his chakra. Before long he felt that what was within the mouth turned into a mushy paste so he opened his hand and then the mouth that rested in his hand, and what was there was a piece of clay. " Awesome. " He said as he walked up to David. " Hey David. " He said in a nonchalant tone, he knew what was going on, he just wanted things to be normal like before, thought he doubted it would be. [2/2]

David nodded slowly as Karo went over the list of things he knew. As he had suspected, it was rather short, and made up of mostly basic techniques. The sight of bones poking out of the boy's fingers sent a slight shiver down his spine, he couldn't quite imagine how such a thing would feel. It did however, sound quite useful.
Satisfied for now with the boy's descriptions of his techniques, David pulled out his giant scroll of sand jutsu and rolled it open, letting the scroll fall to the floor at his feet as he read the end of it, looking for a good technique. After a few seconds, he nodded, satisfied with the one he had found, kicked the scroll back up into his hands and rolled it up, stuffing it back in his bag.
"Alright, this one sounds good, but we can't learn it in here." David spoke, looking distastefully at the room's floor. One of these days, he was going to have to arrange an accident for this place. Perhaps in it's memory they could replace the location with an outdoor training area, one that would actually be useful. Shouldering the bag once more, David started towards the room's single door, fully expecting Karo to follow him. When he got to the door, the ANBU outside opened it for him, and David walked straight out of the building, waiting for Karo in the street outside.

Aoshi SarutobiGenin ///Sunagakure ///----- |||Sarutobi's Legacy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coming before the training facility Aoishi was hoping with all of his being that he'd see the Kazekage. It was indeed getting a bit late in the evening and he rather not be roaming streets or better yet, trying to chase down the Kazekage when he is sleeping. What a welcome that would be! Seeing a young man exiting the facility with a gourd(?) upon his back, Aoishi approached him. "Tsumimasen! I was wondering if you have seen the Kazekage. It isn't urgent, but I do wish to speak with him about some matters." Aoishi said with a polite bow. He has heard so little about the Kage since the change. There has been a change but it seems as if the elders haven't come to a true decision; as if they are debating on it and still withdrawing it from the community until they have an affirmed decision. Something quite odd for him to understand why but... that is why he is the fighter of the village and not sitting upon the decision board of the village. It is not much of a wonder why they gain gray hair so quickly.

David turned to look as someone started talking to him, and found himself facing a young man he'd never met before. A young man who was apparently looking for the Kazekage, and referring to the kage as a male at that. Was he clueless and didn't know the current kage was supposed to be female? Perhaps he'd heard of the change but not the rules that went with it? Rumors flew fast in a ninja village, but he hadn't expected his ruse to be uncovered so quickly. Scanning over the boy in his mind, he figured him to be the right age for an academy graduate, which was probably why he was looking for the kage. Well, he could salvage the secret, at least in this boy's eyes, and give him his wish at the same time. As usual for the boy's quick mind, these thoughts were processed and past in the time it took him to blink, not giving the boy time to notice his slight confusion.
"Jade is unavailable right now, she's taken ill. I can probably take care of whatever it is you need though. I'm waiting for my student at the moment." he stated, cocking his head towards the building as he finished. Karo should be out soon enough, but he likely had time to take care of the child's needs.
