Nathan was partially teasing, but he was very serious about not wanting Yoru hurt. He also clung as close as they could get. !I keep thinking you'll become bubbles..." he whispered.

If he had finished what he was about to say,he feared he would only end up pushing Nathan away. "Forgive me... I was beginning to get out of line."

Nathan took a moment to register what it was that Yoru had said. He wanted to be together with him, to stay with him forever... it was exactly what Mao had offered. What Mao had wanted.
Nathan started to be angry, but since Yoru was offering what he wanted he couldn't stay that way for more than a second. So he started laughing and crying as he clung to Yoru. Speechless.

Yoru knew well what was going through Nathan's mind. He felt foolish for having let those words slip out even if they were all true. "I am truly sorry. I am well aware that you... You love him and... I could never been more important to you than he was." Yoru pulled away from Nathan and walked out of the room. He needed to calm down and think things through before he spoke. He needed to clear his head.

Nathan ran after him, but didn't touch him as he stopped a couple of steps behind him. "Yoru... don't think I could never love you. It's not about time anymore - but I was angry, because Mao didn't choose to leave. He had his heart ripped out, and I couldn't stop it. Didn't realise what his father... was about to do.
You can have some alone time, you probably need it - but please, don't insult Mao when I'm terrified that your father, who preferred you, would do the same thing to you just for being with me."
That said, the Angel turned around and went back into the room. He left the door open so Yoru would know he could come in if he wanted to.

"But he could have defended himself. His father only hated him because he... Because he was the one who hurt me." Yoru sighed and looked up at the sky. He could never compare to Mao and he was sure of it. This was why he needed to find out if his suspicions had some truth to them. If he could give everything back to Mao then he would, but only for Nathan's sake.

He couldn't decide how he felt, but he didn't want Yoru to give up and go away. So he left the house and went after Yoru, watching where he was going.
What he was just realising, was that if Mao came back he wouldn't know how to live with him anymore. It had been seven years, he was different even if he wasn't sure how, so Mao would have to re-learn how to be with him. Besides... if Mao did come back, then Nathan would never truly trust that he wouldn't leave somehow.

Yoru turned and stopped. "Did something happen?" he asked. He wasn't thinking clearly and he could only assume that if Nathan was running after him like that then something bad must have happened.

"I want.... I want..." Nathan gasped, out of breath from running and unable to get out what he needed to say. So instead he caught up and threw his arms around Yoru.
"I... need... can you stay? You, Yoru? I just... please?"

Yoru couldn't quite comprehend why Nathan was suddenly acting like this. He wanted to please his master but it was a bit difficult since Nathan had so many mixed feeling about everything now. "I... I will... I will do anything you ask of me."
