Isn't there a number of different words for rain? I know there are a heap for snow and I vaguely remember someone saying rain was similar in having a large range of names/types.

All delightful panicpanicstressstress aside, at least with a group could you give the speaking role to someone else or minimise your portion? ninja I mean group work in general is... delightful (feel the sarcasm BURN) but at least you have people who have an invested interest in your project/grade.
With groups I'm the bossy boots who cracks the whip and keeps everyone on task. I can lend you my all powerful whip aka 'emailing around and keep everyone accountable and on track' it works quite well!

In Scotland there are many types of rain, mainly because it being the default weather setting for my country we kinda need to be able to describe it
There's
Drizzle
Sheets
Horizontal
Tropical
Raining
Chucking it down
Pouring down
Good weather for ducks
Driech (although this is general weather which tends to include light drizzle but describes to overall weather "setting")
etc etc etc
