"But it's nice to do it sometimes, even I reverie late sometimes." Which were few and far between times, but they did exist now didn't they? "It appreciatese it none the less when you do let it." Adjusting the boy in his hold somewhat so they were both a bit more comfortable. "I suppose you're right, but just remember that it doesn't always work that way, okay? You gotta make the smart decisions about that kind of thing."
Ruffling the boy's hair then in affectionate manner, before shaking his head lightly. Watching the boy eat his cookies without a care in the world he gave a smile. "We'll see...you know how mommy reacts to certain things being told her." Wiping at the boy's mouth with his sleeve. "And you need a bath tonight."

"Okay." Simple as that for him, wasn't it? He tended to agree with his father on most things. After all, his father was smarter on a lot of subjects and by agreeing he couldn't get into trouble. Oh but he just grinned at that last comment and calmly finished his cookie. He'd been waiting for those fateful words so he could shoot them down. "No I don't Daddy. I took one this morning already."
Zahara meandered around the hallway not really sure what she was going to do with herself. She wanted and needed to see Khaiver but knew it wasn't goign to happen with Sevilin around. Who knew how long it was going to take to get this silly trade thing they had going on completed anyway? And then he'd probably be long gone, which was just fine with her since that's what she wanted. Her steps took her down to the kitchen where she glanced at the parchment and counted. A small smile graced her lips, her son was nearby. Dropping the rest of those cookies into the cookie jar, she made her way into the dining room, where sure enough Sevilin and Zykariel were sitting. "Hey boys."

"You didn't take a bath by my standards. Cute, but no cookie for that one Zykariel." Poking the boy in the nose at that notion, knowing the boy wouldn't be able to argue his way out of that. What was so bad about a bath anyway, honestly. But his attention turned up to Zahara as she happened into the room. "Hey...everything with Piper alright? I'm sure you're glad to have estrogen back in the house again."

"Yes. She's got a few broken bones and she'll definitely need lots of reverie but she's home, she's safe and her boys are just beside themselves with joy."
He was speechless for a moment, not prepared for that answer at all. "Aww but Daddy, I washed behind my ears and my hair and everything. I haven't been outside today either." He gave a grin to his mother. "Mommy, do I have to take a bath tonight?" Though he frowned. "Who's estrogen?" Then an excited look. "Did we get a new pet?"
Zahara chuckled and ruffled her son's hair. "If you didn't take one last night, you have to tonight. You know the rules, Kariel. And arguing with your father about what's clean and what's not doesn't work. I should know, I've tried it more than you." She paused for a moment and tapped her chin. "You know, even I have to take a bath but I have to take one every day no matter what?"
His eyes got really big and round. "Every single day? No matter what? Even if you don't go anywhere or do anything to get dirty?"
"Every single day, no matter what. Once a day regardless." See, it could be worse.
Turning around and looking at his father. "Is that true, Daddy? You make Mommy take one too?" His voice dropped to a whisper. "What if she doesn't?"

Malik let Piper lean agasint her and liad a soft kiss on the tip of her ear.
"No, she doesn't have to go anywhere. at least not like that again. She's home, safe and sound."
A small smile to thier son and his wife.
"And your staying home, and I'm going to make sure you get all teh time to recuperate that you need."
a slight touch under her robe though showed bandaging. that got a bit of a concerned look. but he could talk to Zahara about her injuries later.

"Broken bones are good, build character." Turning his attention to Zahara and then to his own son. "Like I said, my standards. And first you're answering things then you're asking things. Aren't you just all over the plane of thinking today." Which was good and probably troublesome at the same time. Though a chuckle at the look his son presented him with as well as the whispering. "Then she's cranky. Girls like to be really clean."
A light sigh at that simple little gesture of his...right now, even the littlest things meant the whole world. It was true, you never knew how much you were going to miss something until it actually happened. An experience she was glad was over. But a light laugh and a hug to thier son, whom only cuddled against her all the more. "That's right, don't have to go anywhere that far away or for that long again." Before tilting her head back to look up at her husband. "Good, you can scare off all the things that would dare to mess with me." Nuzzling under his chin lightly as he happened to touch at bandaging. "It's alright...nothing serious."
He was oh so content to sit in his mother's lap, and to have both parents back. Not to mention he got cookies earlier. This day was just looking better and better wasn't it? But for right now, he merely cuddled against his mother, one hand gripped to her collar like he had always done since he was an infant. "It all feels okay in here again, I like it." Tapping on his head with his free hand.

"I'll be happy to. and I think your son would more than help."
and a smile to his son.
"that's always a good thing. we don't want rocks in there now do we."
running his hand along his son's back lightly and keeping his wife close. she was his jewel, his prize for all the endurance of pain in bonds and the long distance between them. the anxiety, and silent terrors and restless nights. for all his power, both in magic and in rulership...this was more trying than anything to have been seperated from her while she took on a dangerous taks he could not help her with or protect her on.

Malik was equally clingy as Malikhai way she surmised, just in a different sense was all, but still equally though. Which was endearing because right now she needed that sort of attention, what with trying to settle into being back home, and also from the shock of certain...well things she didn't want to mention. Keely would want to go though, she knew that...human after all. But she attempted to turn her attention from that aspect once more and back to her men...Piper really couldn't handle a public breakdown rigth now...she'd do more of that later locked in the bathroom. "Going to teach him how to send people skittering with a glance are you?" Shaking her head lightly before resting it against his chest, and brushing a hand through thier son's hair. "I'm sorry I made it feel all bad, but it's going to be all better now." Did not like the fact that he was still a little hot though...bothered her. But he wasn't as hot as earlier.
He merely smiled, nuzzling his mother and shifting some to get into more contact with his father's hand. Yes this is how it was supposed to be, both his parents in one place at one time, both loving on each other and loving on him. And Yinn was a nice addition, even if he had decided to gnaw at the boys' fingers again...wasn't like he was hurting him. Though a squint as his mother was feeling his face. "It's goin' away, Zahara said so." Though then a look up to both parents with big silver eyes. "Does this mean all the bad's going to go away now?"

"the bad never goes completely away. but as long as we can face it together then it will never be able to stay. Oh. I did mention lateef is coming for a visit? part of that deal I made with Mahlari. she had to request lateef to come, and be nice enough about it that he woudl agree. you know, a little salt on an open wound."

He blinked and apparently thought about it for a moment seeing if he liked the answer he was given or not. "I guess that's okay." After all that meant that he would have mommy and daddy with him and that was a good thing now wasn't it? The bad for right now was gone and that was the important thing. Back to merely cuddling with his parents. "Who's Lateef?" Yay random questions.
"You were busy while I was gone, weren't you? I suppose you had to keep yourself busy...though I thought no one would ever get Lateef under the surface, let alone Caprice. Kudos to you A'mael." A look down to thier son then. "Lateef is Isle's father...kind of like my uncle. Or like Sevilin is to daddy." Yay for being able to make comparisons, but a look back up to Malik, loving that kiss, simple as it was. "Tired, hungry, and sore...but that all fades in comparisson to the feeling of being home and with my family again."

"Broken bones give me a job so I suppose I should be grateful to them." A shake of her head and she reached over and ruffled her son's hair. "And nobody wants me to be cranky. If I have to bathe every day then you can handle every other day, right?"
"I guess..." he muttered begrudgingly before he stared at his mother. "Why? It's so much fun to be dirty though." Reaching for his milk, he picked it up in both hands and took a nice long sip. "What if I got so dirty you couldn't get me clean?" That was an interesting prospect, now wasn't it? He could go roll around so much and have so much dirt caked on him that no matter how much scrubbing they did, they'd never get him clean. He could do it too!
Zahara laughed, "Because I don't enjoy being dirty and I certainly don't enjoy crawling into a dirty bed made that way because I was dirty when I slept in it before." He'd probably come up with an argument to that one too. "Then you'd just be a pile of dirt. Cookies only go to little elves, not little dirt piles. And dirt stays outside."

Sevilin gave half a snicker, more of an amused sort of snicker like noise. "I can clean anything. Inanimate objects, and little elves alike. Believe me, you could never get so dirty that I wouldn't be able to get you clean." After all, if he could get the grout spotless, then he was pretty set for anything. Though good move on Zahara's part with the cookies...that child wasn't going to give up his cookies.
"And I actually have an appetite too. Isn't that something?" A slight chuckle at that, after all...Piper ate like a bird, there were no two ways about it. It was always an occassion when she actually ate more than that. But a look down to the child in her lap. "You want to help daddy? Would mean I get settled faster then you can spend more time with me."
He needed no more encouragement other than the asking of his parents and he wriggled himself away from them and plopped down off the bed, but did turn back to the draithix on it still. "Stay Yinn." And then a look to Malik. "Come on! Mommy's hungry!" That would be a yes indeed.

"No cookies? Ever?"
She nodded solemnely. "Ever. Dirt piles don't get cookies. They aren't little elves so all the things little elves get, dirt doesn't. Like hugs and kisses and stories read to them. And dirt certainly doesn't learn magic. Still want to be a little dirt pile?" she asked barely restraining the chuckle that so badly wanted to escape.
"No, I don't think so." He turned and cuddled into his father now needing that hug that he wouldn't get if he was a dirt pile. "I like being a little elf, even if it means I have to take a bath." He glanced up. "Do I really have to clean up to your standards, Daddy? That takes forever and I get itchy..."
