This reminds me of Nsider and the corruption, and not to mention the laziness. Nsider is only a board for money and to advertise their games, nothing more, nothing less.

Typhoon_Omi Son Hakkai WTF? This was pulled from a guild I am in... Quoted for truth; it's no lie. I've been here on my original account since early 03'. The staff here fail, badly. I've brought up numerous issues with them many times, and the only reason I haven't been punished for "defying & trolling" a few moderators myself, is because I bring it into the public in such a mocking manner, that it'd make the staff member in question look foolish to punish me on a permanent level.
Lanzer and the other "administrators" focus entirely on the feature aspects of Gaia, and leave the moderators to actually managing Gaia. Unfortunately, most of these staff members kissed a**, royally, to get where they are - and personally, are poorly suited for running even a small community, much less one as massive as Gaia Online.
Just me, though. There's a lot of things wrong with several of the moderators. Many of them, as you said, like to kiss a**, they base a lot of their decisions on their own POVs; I've seen someone get banned for posting flames against a certain politcal PoV, but someone else's entire rant thread stays at the top for some time. For some of the moderators, it's ''if you don't have anything nice to say about what I believe in and like, then you can stfu, but if you want to flame THAT opinion, go right ahead''. Mind you, not all of the moderators are bad. Zahir was a good mod, but I think he gave up.

Son Hakkai Just a question: Why don't the people who find gaia so problemated (I don't know if that a word, but it sounded good) attempt to be moderaters? And defeat the ladder of corruption. Why would the other mods make somebody who opposed their ideals and said they were doing a shitty job a moderator?

Son Hakkai Just a question: Why don't the people who find gaia so problemated (I don't know if that a word, but it sounded good) attempt to be moderaters? And defeat the ladder of corruption. If it were offered, surely.
But, obviously, because we feel Gaia so "problemated" - "our" opinions differ from those in 'power'. So, chances are, I for example will never become a moderator or staff member in any way, shape, or form.
Darth, couldn't agree more. Now, don't get me wrong; there -are- decent staff members to merit. Just.. a majority, I happen to either dislike or highly disagree with their "work ethics", perse'.
For the record - never buy a moderator's "this is against the TOS" deal on something, until you've read the ToS pertaining to the matter. Twice, I've had to deal with a moderator whom's convinced such-and-such is against the Terms of Service, when after inspecting it? No. Nothing prohibiting that given matter or interpreting it as an offensive matter in the ToS.
Phah. If staff twere active enough, to go through and updated old, pinned topics using the links from the Ruby, Ian, and Sapphire days - I'd be surprised.
And, lovely to learn of how "Binatica" came to be. domokun As for IP bans: Gaia would -never- pull an IP ban, except in certain, rare cases. For the following reasons:
A. They're lazy. What can I say. B. A number of dial-up networks share a surprisingly long range of IP values. They'd have to confirm that the IP of the member in question is a static IP & doesn't share such values, or risk IP banning a large number of members - especially in such a large community as.. well, Gaia.
Besides, Gel could just fire up a proxy. Nothing difficult.

So, mods make people into other mods? Kinda dumb...but easy enough to 'exploit'
Lets set up a half-assed senario (me being lazy, so I am going to do a quick one.)
I suck up to said moderator, they are happy. Soon, they turn me into a mod. I rise the ranks (to light green) I then bring in new people (people better suited to changing the corruption)
BAM gaia revolution.

Typhoon Omi - I'm guessing you didn't like putting up with Raine's murderous intentions..o___o;; In her mind, not killing you is friendly.

Nihilistic_Impact You know, I'm more a fan of the hostile take over theme. Oh, when is the strategy meeting? I will be there, be it in plane, car or boat. (hopefully in car, I don't have that much money...)

Black_Oblivion Typhoon Omi - I'm guessing you didn't like putting up with Raine's murderous intentions..o___o;; In her mind, not killing you is friendly. Actually, I'd love to spar with Raine again relatively soon. X3 Just, Kuro/Kold's match is finally over - and IC, I need to go through the "gaining the forged blade" routine, ASAP, before the next round starts up at Barton. =P I can definetely go without a weapon, but.. having one is lovely, too.

Typhoon Omi - I'm interested in fighting you again soon too. o:
Having a weapon's not fun..>_> I've lost my weapon in a few battles before and it was definitely more challenging to fight without one. o.o But I managed.
Hopefully the O/M starts up soon. ...o.o I've been waitin' a long time for the second round to start. Just two more matches before I can get on to fighting my next opponent. o:
