Blaise shook her head and followed behind him. She was sure Annlise hadn't gone far, she had only needed to find the others. She saw the little girl turning the corner, tugging Kaden along by the hand and Loque and Booker following. When Annalise saw Blaise her eyes lit up and she ran for her.
"Blaise!"
Blaise scooped her up easily and held her. "Why so excited, Annie? We've only parted just a few moments."
"I know." Annalise replied, "But I don't like being away from you, I don't want to be taken from you ever again."
Blaise tugged on one of the little girl's curls fondly and let it spring back. "Don't worry, Annie, I won't let that happen, I promise."

"Hello there." Chrono said, dropping down to anna's height,"I don't think we've had a chace to meet, have me?"
Before an exchange could take place, however, there was a disturbance downstairs.
"WHo are you?! Gte out of here, demon!" Someone yelled.
"Chrono?! Where is Chrono?! I have to speak to him! His... the woman...!"
Chrono bolted down the hall before the others, and found storm about to attack an injured demon. It was the one with Duffau who narrowly escaped death.
"No! Leave him alone!" Chrono said, rushing forward to catch the demon before his legs gave way to the ground. "Corio! What happened?!"
"...Duffau's dead...I saw it...He was killed by... b-by that woman of yours... "
"Rosette?! She did this?! WHere is she?! WHere is Rosette!?" Chrono asked rapidly. Corio's body was breaking apart betwee Chrono's fingers.
"Beware... Beware of the Holy Woman's blood...!"
With a painful cream, Corio's fell apart into nothing right at Chrono's feet. Chrono stared at his hand, coated with what he assumed was the deceased demon's ashes.
This was bad... very bad...

Annalise was just about to say something back to Chrono when she heard the shouting downstairs and abruptly stopped. Kaden and the elves were after Chrono as quickly as they could move.
"Annie, stay here." Blaise commanded her little sister.
"No, I'm going with." She told her defiantly.
"Annie, I don't think it's such a good idea. Something dangerous might be going on."
"Blaise, I'm not five years old anymore."
Blaise opened her mouth to respond but her voice was caugth in her throat. She WAS right. Blaise still wanted to treat her like her five-year-old sister, the one that had been taken from her. But the truth was, Annalise had grown quite a bit, and Blaise had missed out on watching that. She'd missed out on a lot.
"A . . . All right."
Blaise went down quickly with Annalise right beside her and watched with the others in a stunned silence. "Rosette? . . . How could she do something . . . ? Why would she . . . ? No, she's not like that, something's wrong."

"You've forgotten who she is with..." Chrono said grimly. He took his coat off and tucked it over the pile of Cori's ashes,"We... We have to stop them both, before things go too far..."
"Then I think it is time to got yourself the proper equipment."Remington told him, "Storm, clean that up."
"Yes, sir."
Storm when to moving the remains as Remington ead the others deeper into the building.
"Satella has informed me that some of you have weaons form the order. Fight with them, you need to learn." He told them, "Chrono, I have something for you."

Blaise still had the rapier she'd found and Booker his hammer. Loque had but the simple sword he'd picked uo and Annalise was left with bare hands. Blaise couldn't even imagine what the little girl would look like with a weapon in her hands, with her little brown curls and her quaint little dress that she had managed to keep in impecable shape despite what she'd been through. The vision was rather comical. Annalise was such a sweet little girl, though from what she had seen so far, Blaise knew she could do damage.
"I don't have anything." Annalise told her sister, ". . . but then again, I don't suppose I'd need anything."
"Good. I wouldn't have let you use a weapon anyways." Blaise teased. "But I want you to be careful . . . Annie, when you were younger I never knew you . . . had a power. When did you start using it?"
"Oh . . . a couple years after we were separated. Actually I think it was on my eighth birthday. It was really strange . . . it was only a little while after when Fiore took me in."
Blaise nodded a bit. "Eighth birthday . . . that, reminds me." Blaise took the little bracelet that was on her wrist and tied it back around Annalise's. Annalise have her a look of surprise then hugged her.
"Oh, you saved it!" she exclaimed. "I thought that big ugly man had taken it from you!"
Blaise shook her head and smiled. "Nope . . . I've kept it so I could give it back to you when I found you again. We're going to have to add more beads now. You're no longer five."
Kaden watched Annalise and Blaise talk with a small smile. He was happy for the both of them. Blaise finally had her little family back, even if it was just the two of them. Hopefully Annalise wouldn't mind him and Blaise being friends.

"Now is not the time for that!" Remington said sharply, "You are wasting time. STorm! When you are down with them, find the others and fight these fools. They need to get stronger, fast."
"Yes, sir!" Storm said, poking back in the door long enough to salute the tall man.
"Come now Chrono, you'll need a weapon."
"What about me?" Azmaria said, coming onto the scene, "My powers... I've had some trouble with them lately. I'll need a weapon as well."
Remington hesitated as he looked at the small girl. He doubted she could carry anythig at all of the calibur needed to fight a demon.
"Very well..." He finally answered, "Come with me."

Annalise made a face at Remington and Blaise touched her shoulder and shook her head, but couldn't help but smile. Blaise couldn't help but try and converse with her little sister, she'd missed five years with her. Also Blaise didn't know what might happen between then and the next time they get to settle down and talk. Hopefully they'd both be well in the end but if not . . . Blaise wanted to let Annalise know how much she loved her.
Blaise looked to Storm and crossed her arms across her chest patiently. "If we're to begin training I suggest we do it now. Apparently we're waisting time." She said, her last comment more of a quiet aside then directed at anyone. Kaden gave her a light warning punch on the shoulder and she shrugged.

"Hey, I've got remains to handle. Have to obey what Remington says." Storm said with a shurg. He'd carried the remains in Chrono's coat outside, an was about to bury them in ground, "Feel free to help."
Mirana had happened by in the opposite direction Remington was leading Chrono and Azmaria in.
"Mirana, you'll be in charge when they starts fighting.
"W-W-What?!" She stammered.
"Your attacks are too destructive to train with, so you''ll keep an eye on them. Go find Rowan and Liebler and join Storm."

Blaise sighed and waited for them to get done what they needed so they could begin. Kaden, meanwhile, had thought of something that might be useful for them and looked to Annalise.
"Annalise . . . can I ask you something?" He said and she looked up and nodded.
"Well . . . you were with Aion for quite a time, weren't you?" another nodd, "Is there anything you can tell us that might, you know, help? Anything at all?"
Annalise thought hard for a moment and tepped her lip with her finger. "Hmm . . . I dunno . . . I was just the scullery maid, Fiore took care of me most the time . . ."
Kaden nodded and sighed. It was at least worth a shot.

The Moternic Moutians made up the northern most part of the Empire, with the rising peaks dividing the civilized world from the barbaric kingdoms of the north. These peaks, mighty, impregnable and deadly had long kept the Imperial forces from marching farther north and had kept anything from marching south. Amongst these mountains was a long valley that cut its way harshly; through the mountains and created the only means by which travelers might make there ways to other lands in any type of safety. And it was here in this valley that the Imperial fortress Frostwatch stood against the north horrors. Long had this might fortress stood, with a mighty tower in the middle. This towers was a beacon that when light would be seen for miles in either direction and was a warning to the empire that war should be coming. For years the beacon had remained unlit and dead and this night was no different. The guards stood about on the wall in frozen agony or they made merry in the warm halls, laughing and joking as they feasted well upon meat. None aware of the eyes that had set themselves upon his fortress. None aware of the horde that marched in perfect unsiion through the dark and snow, heading for this so called “impregnable fortess.
Thrin Morn was a simple man, who had been stationed at this post for more than most of these raw recruits had been alive. He was a hard, seasoned, and grizzled veteran; his red beard and dark eyes were known to many barbarian hordes and he had earned the title of “Slasher” from his fellows. Now, in the dark and silent cold he stood, the cold seeming to have no effect upon him as his breath drifted out like fog, the crescent moon providing almost no light to see by. A chattering of teeth rose up and Thrin looked over at the young man standing next to him.
“Whats the matter lad?” Came Thrin’s throaty voice, “your mother not supply you with thick enough blood eh?” The young boy shivered violently as he puoled the cloak he wore around him tighter and tried to speak.
“I…gu..esss…not…..siir.” The boys shack reply cause Thrin to burst out I hearty laughter as he slapped the young man on the back.
“Well we can’t all be of such grand stock as I lad. But don’t worry, your blood will thicken before this winters over.” The boy gave a half smile at Thin’s remark and had a rebuttal of his own nearly out when the first long scream rushed over the air and brought the wall tyo silence. For a long time, no one moved, only looked. Thrin’s dark eyes gazed out upon the plains before him, the dull snow still. The thick man began to chew on his lip and he drew his sword as another scream filled the night air.
“Boy, to the bell, quick!” But it was to late, a knife whirled out of the darkness and seized the boys life with an astounding quickness. The lifeless corpse fell beside Thrin, who instantly was running for the high tower. As he ran, he chanced a glance upon the snows before him and saw the dark hordes emerge from the shadows, the massive lines forcing Thrin’s eyes to widen in fear, fear he had not felt in years. Thrin watched as hundreds, no thousands of arms rose, black bows clenched tight in pale hands. He saw through the gloom hundreds of fires suddenly spring to life upon the arrows that rested in the bows and he heard the terrible sounds as thousands of black barbs flew through the night. The whizzed overhead, the fires upon them twisted and sick as it flickered in a dull green. The arrows struck and within seconds the inner courtyards of the fortress burst into sick, nightmare fire. Screams and alarms began to whale as Thrin flew the door to the door open and began to run up the stairs, taking them two at a time. The cold air stung his lungs but he didn’t dare stop. Loud thundering shock the floor and the heard the sounds of steel upon steel as he burst onto the top of the tower and looked down.
He saw the black hordes rushing through the gates, their swords cutting and tearing as with a superb unison they moved, not a single of these strange soldiers breaking ranks, not a single soldier falling. Thrins watched as his comrades were torn to pieces. He saw as the snows went from white to red and through it all, those twisted fires blazed green. Thrin turned from the grisly scene and seized the flint and tinder that he kept at his side. With another hand he took a bottle of oil that rested nearby and threw it upon the might stack of logs. The bottle shattered and oil began to soak the woods. Thrin placed the flint to the wood and stuck a spark. A spark that ignited the oil and soon the whole pile was a ragin inferno, the heat diving Thrin away. As the staggered away, a black shape descended from the air and landed with a cracking of stone behind him. Thrin turned, his sword level at this knew attacker.
Von looked at the man with twisted glee in his eyes as the old man said boldly:
“Try what you will, the whole of the Empire now knows of your coming!”
“Good.” Was all Von said as the fires raged and the blood spilled.

(I'm just going to jump ahead for now. wink )
Remington wasn't kidding when he said they all needed to train. Compared to even Liebler, the youngest and smallest of the group with Remington, most of them were barely a match.
For the most part Storm drilled them over and over with their weapons until their hands were raw. He made Booker test the size and accuracy of his hammer by trying to aim iit at various objects, even Storm himself. It took the better part of a few hours for Booker to not fall backwards when he raised it too high. As for Loque, it with gentle coaching from gentle, nervous Miranda that finally showed him how to bring out the power of his weapon. Of course it was a shock to all of them when the handle of his whip coiled tightly around his wrist, while the opposite end split into nine different strands. Loque himself was pleased with the fact at how easily it tore through a stone wall.
Blaise was another matter. Since she actually possessed a bladed weapon, she trained one on one for the most part against Storm. His method, taught by Remigton, was most unusual.
He left Blaise in a room all on her own, and blindedfolded. Then, suddenly and at random intervals, he, Gilliam, or Leibler would strike out at her with their hands, smacking her in the face or in the shoulders, back, and stomach. Whenever she objected, he merely told her she had to "feel" them. Somehow the notion of hert temporary blindness must have come up...
Out of them all, Blaise was the last to truely succeed fully in her taining, but there was, hopefully, still time.
Remington brought Chrono, followed by Azmaria, to another room in their temporary shelter. To Chrono's astounishment, Remington offered Chrono his own demon-slaying sword.
"You must use this to fight Aion. Without your horns, you should be on equal terms."
"Remington, you-"
"I have other ways to fight. You are the one who must take it to him and get back Rosette. I can only imagine what he has done to her. Because of Duffau and his demons, we know she is still somewhere near..."
Chrono looked at the blade, silver in color with strange markings down the side he did now know. However the blade felt strong and sturdy in his hands.
"I won't fail you."
"Yes, but be careful of the sword. It was incribed by someone beyond your time of slaying your kind. Think of me as delivering a gift from someone you once knew..."

((Is fine . . . you never covered Kaden and Annalise so I'll just give em something ;]))
Blaise was quite frustrated at first, mostly with herself. But as soon as she got past shouting this is ridiculous! and used wind element to help her detect the others she was having less of a hard time. After getting a hang of it she actually began enjoying herself. She was happy to have gotten good training for once in a long time, back at the Forester post she called home she didn't have much competition besides Nathan, the poor man dead and gone now, an unexpecting victim. Though she still had much to learn yet to be as he was. Her thoughts went back to the affliction she had suffered when she'd been tossed into that nearly frozen lake. What if Rosette had never returned her sight to her?
Booker and Loque were satisfied with the way their work had turned out, though not left as briused as Blaise was from getting smacked around a bit, but she wouldn't complain. But Loque couldn't help but be uneasy. The people they trained with, some demons, showed them what potential and power a demon could have. It made them feel insignificant as they were used to battling human forces, never in their wildest dreams did they think they'd be fighting demons. Though the notion didn't bother Annalise as much as it had bothered the others for some reason.
The little girl was so confident in her abilities, she was adept at what she did. While Annalise might not have been offense, she was a magnificent defense fighter. Many of her kenetic shields were close to inpenatrable. But she did have her weaknesses. She couldn't stand attacking another, just the thought of hurting someone else, no matter who they were, made her skin crawl.
Kaden wasn't having as much luck as the others. He'd lost his weapon back at the Order when they were taken. He wasn't a Mage . . . unfortuante for him. He could heal, whoopdeedoo. It was going to be a long day.

After letting the lot of them take a break for a while. Miranda decided to head out.
"I doubt you'll find a store, Miranda." Storm told her bluntly.
"I'd like to help however I can, the people are already organized to help the injured, I can help cook. The rest of you should stay here for now. Start your little trainging fights again if you must." Miranda told him, betrayed by her anxious behavior. Well, Miranda was ALWYAS nervous, "I'll be back soon."
"Yeah, later." Strom said, getting up and stretching.
"Alright, Blaisey girl, we're doing this again WITHOUT magic."

Blaise groaned and stood up. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But you can't blame me, it helps."
"Can I come too, Blaise?" Annalise asked eagerly. Blaise shook her head.
"You should keep training on your own, Annie. Why don't you train with Booker, hmm?"
Booker scoffed and Annalise shot him a look that said, you wanna die?
"I don't think that'd be very fair." Booker said.
"Not for you, no." Loque smiled.
Booker grumbled something that sounded like, I'll show you and stood up. "Fine, I'll train with the squirt."
Annalise giggled and hopped up. "This will be fun!"

(I suddenly feel very sorry for Booker...)
It took Miranda close to an hour or two to find where the survivor's of last night's incident. There was a surprising amount of people. Many were nursing the injured, while even less dispursed whatever small quantities of food that remained.
"May I help?" She offered kindly to one man stoking a large fire. He gave her a wary look before shrugging.
After that, Miranda found herself very busy with passing out broken bowls of food to those who needed them, and refilling those that followed her for more. Unfortunately, Miranda seemed to have a knack for falling over quite a bit.
"I'm alright, really!" She insisted as a little girl tried to help her up. Miranda picked up her head and removed the bowl that had landed on it just in time to see a woman quietly making her way through a crowd of survivors. A woman with pale, white skin, blonde hair, chilling eyes, and a black dress and veil. She recognized this person. Not because she'd seen her before, but because she looked so much like someone she knew. This woman looked just like Joshua.
"Rosette!" Miranda exclaimed, but her words went unnoticed.
Rosette was alone as she walked through the crowd, first coming to a small girl and who appeared to be her grandmother. The old woman had a horrible bloody gash across her arm, and the girl was doing her best to clean away the blood.
"Are you alright?" Rosette asked politely to get their attention. While Miranda was alarmed by Rosette's otherworldly appearance, the people only seemed awed by it.
"An injury like that must be difficult for you to bear, but you mustn't worry. This misfortune will become a blessing..."
Rosette gently took the woman's hand in her, her hands gave of a faint, golden glow for a moment, before the skin pulled and mended itself instantly. The woman and girl looked on curiously. When Rosette was done, the old woman gasped in surprise.
"The pain's gone! Oh, it's a miracle! It's a miracle!" The woman yelled, attracting the attention of most of the crowd.
"This is truly a miracle! Thank you! Thank you!" The woman said, tears shining in her eyes.
"Go now, blessings on you both." Rosette said serenely. Miranda was rushing through the crowd, trying to get to Rosette as the girl rose to her feet, but before she could...
"Well, Rosette, shall we...?' Aion asked, bending low and offering his hand to the girl.
"Yes, thank you." Rosette replied, taking his hand. Rosette walked past Miranda without so much as a passing glance to her or anyone else. Suddenly, the grey clouds overhead parted slightly, allowing a beam of sunlight to fall across Rosette's shoulders. She walked with one hand in Aion's, the other held the heam of her dress as she walked. The sun seemed to reflect off something near-invisible on her back. A thing that spread out widely in the light. They were wings.
"Look, grandmother, she's so pretty!" The girl gasped.
"We're not dreaming!"
"It's the savior!"
"We're saved!"
"Messiah! Messiah!"
Miranda was gone before the little girl had stopped speaking. Only a cloud of dirt was left in her wake...
