Yeah, it's all well and good being suicidal, but there's quite a lot to Tzeentch. People just don't like them because they're slow and expensive, but imagine 2 doombolts without rolling for psychic tests. That's quite the power.
-Mykal Why just two? Cant you just outfit every champion or squad leader with that and ******** everyone? Yeah, if you feel like forking out for them.
Flamers of Tzeentch come with Doombolt as Standard as well. It all depends what you can be bothered to field/apint/spend.
-Mykal Well it is tzeentch's strong point, why not make it the core of your army? Because not all of our parents buy us stuff, so to have a 100pt army for Tzeentch costs in the hundreds of pounds.
-Mykal Well...That was asking for strategic options, I wasnt meaning for anyone to go buy out said expensive toys. I have my limits as well when it comes to thi game, about 150 bucks for a 500 pts tau, I dont think Ill go much further with tau, nor with chaos.

-Mykal I got 2 boxes over the span of 6 months about...2 years ago, that was because I was into Dawn of War, my cousin was getting into the game so I decided just to collect a few. I started to buy Tau as a playing for about 6 months ago and I have a 500 pts army right now, I dont plan on playin chaos for a while, but I find myself confused and dazzled by their variety in the codex (I have the CSM Codex)

Chaos are very versatile. The thing is it's totally possible to have all your corners covered, even if the shape in question is a dodecahedron. eek
All you've really got to do is figure out how many corners you want to cover. Sure, it can be confusing, but ask a blueshirt to help you and you'll probably be thankful in many degrees.

Yeah, They are incredibly versatile from what Ive seen, I plan on using havoks for range and anti-tank support while sporting lots of close combat, I might just choose chaos undivided for this, and then switch to a different plan and go for a god.
I wonder why there is a difference, Ive only seen staff wear red shirts. Also, when I asked a staff member about pursuing chaos he made general statements, so far I cannot find a chaos specialist, Ill have to try at the other store.

They wear blue here, and sometimes black. It's just the way it goes.
Try and find a decent Chaos guy, I guess. If there's a Chaos Army on display, chances are someone knows what they're ding.

The nearest one doesnt sport many chaos players, I have to say that an incredible amount are space marine, then eldar, tyranid, and tau. Because the store is so small, the display case in the window have about...5 shelves? One is completely tau, and has some sweet conversions and paint scheme I might add, one is orks, and the rest is fantasy and lord of the rings.
Ive only seen one chaos player, and from what Ive seen all he has is a commander of some sorta, 3-4 bikes, I think a havok squad, and two CSM squads.
I guess the first thing I have to do is make a commander for my fledgling army, I already have two troops choices, although they are in need of some re-modifying, I imagine Ill just buy another box set and designate one close combat and the other ranged, or maybe just stick with close combat.
I need ideas for a chaos lord/commander/whatever you call them, I want to make him beastly, and I see that there is a plethora of options.

Your Chaos Lord, regardless of kit, is usually your emergency plug - he fills the holes because he can usually handle it himself.
In this case, he needs to be fast. Past that it really just depends on what else you want him to do.
Also, if he's alone, or just plain fast, hounds are always a good choice.

FlashbackJon Your Chaos Lord, regardless of kit, is usually your emergency plug - he fills the holes because he can usually handle it himself. In this case, he needs to be fast. Past that it really just depends on what else you want him to do. Also, if he's alone, or just plain fast, hounds are always a good choice. Sounds good, I like speed. I thought giving him power claws would be sweet, then Id have a name and a background story for him and his band of mutants. It fits perfectly, his name will be Wolverine, and then his group will be the mutant X-Men, while the rest of society is trying to eliminate them, perfect, right? I have a few questions involving small armys, alignments, and legalities. First off, If Im undivided, can I get like bloodletters and such? If so, how does that work? Do I mark my whole army with chaos undivided and then get bloodletters, or mark the bloodletters themselves? Im into Khorns beasts, but not khorne himself. Because it such a small army, wouldnt it be wise to stay undivided or maybe have a few dedicated units? If so, what should I make dedicated to what based on stats (ie: what god can I dedicate some havoks to to make them better in some aspect or another). Last but not least, cant I take space marine and imperial gaurd vehicles and make them chaos too? My thoughts for a 500 pts army right now are as follows: 3-4 CSM bikers, either ranged or close combat Im not sure yet Havoks, I dont know how many, but I like them, plus they got a cool name. 2 Squads of CSM, close combat or ranged I dont know. Commander, I dont know whats going on with him yet Maybe rhino if I feel lucky. I imagine thats alot of points, so I might cut the rhino and/or bikers. I want to be centered around speed and close combat, I think maybe raptors would be good, or possessed. I may delete the havoks to include some anti-armor terminators. Feedback please?

All of this is neatly explained in and about the confines of the pages.

Alright let me see if I can find it. I have not completely read the codex, just skimmed it since it has alot of information.
Ok I see, I have to have a undivided or dedicated unit first, then have an icon, at which the demons can be summoned to.

Seriously, that book will answer *most* of your questions.
