Yumi looked at the ground beneath her and in doing so she became too confident for her own good. Her hand slipped from the wall and bounced off of it causing her to plummet downwards again and continue on her little deathly adventure. She didn't scream this time as she fell but wanted to curse her own bad luck as she came closer to the bottom of the ravine. She again tried to grasp anything and everything that would save her from the pain that would be inflicted on her body if she didn't survive this intense training.
She managed to grab onto another part of the wall that had jutted out from the rest of the sleek parts. She looked satisfied but it would only be a temporary satisfaction. Her grip was somewhat good but the point of this training was to get better chakra control, which is something that she obviously didn't have. Her hand slipped off the protruding rock and caused her to fall yet again. Even for being in such peril Yumi was keeping calmer than she probably should have been. But going through Giglamesh's intense training had already hardened her, partially, to the fear of death.

Though she kept the work up, the light grew somewhat dim, compared to it's light before... She opened her eyes slightly, testing it to see if she could stand the light before opening them fully to check out the problem. She didn't feel any different from before... So it couldn't be her chakra this time. She lifted the bulb and examined the bottom, and around the bulb... No cracks, and no sparks... Shuiro was mystified. She took a quickly glance around, despite not being able to see much, the sounds of the girl training didn't bother her in the slightest, though they were liuder to her ears than most others... Her focus and chakra had been fine, the bulb was fine. So why did it get dimmer. Sweat on her hands, made her fingers a tad slippery, so she readjusted them carefully, trying to keep the pulse going as she did this. The ligth got brighter, all of a sudden, and she had to close her eyes once more. Okay... note to self... finger position matters... don't let them slip... With that done, she continued at it... not stopping, though she somewhat wished she could... It was meal time for her... She could feel her stomach churning uneasily... She couldn't remember eating breakfast either. She'd been so bored she hadn't bothered... just started off her day with roaming around the village. She had been relieved when Etna have her something to do... though now she wished she'd atleast packed a snack.

She wasn't the most graceful of shinobi in her current state. Part of it was due to her inexperience and the other part would mostly be due to her "choice" of activity for her training. Her limbs would bounce off the hard wall in places and would leave her with decent size bruises on her arms and legs, some even would take place on her torso. She had several reaches for various places on the wall which is when her limbs would be punished for attempting to breech the walls structure and keep her from falling to her doom. Every time she would fail to grasp the wall she would clench her fists and wince only slightly. She was ignoring the pain so that she could survive through this training. Etna was just going to be as harsh a sensei as Giglamesh when it came to training. She stretched her arm out yet again to grab onto the wall.
Her arm bounced off the wall and she let out a loud yelp in pain. She grabbed the arm as it came back to her body. She looked at it for a brief moment and winced at the pain. "I can handle this." She said but the words were whisped away from her throat by the rushing wind that carried her voice upward to the top of the cliff. She kept falling and hoped that this would end well.

Things were going alright... it would help if her fingers would stop slipping. Her hands were starting to itch... it was getting very uncomfortable for her. She pressed on though, not wanting to stop. She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to get the lightbulb to work if she did... Though she'd done fine grabbing new bulbs, she was still cautious. The minutes ticked by, though... and her problem grew worse and worse. Eventually she had to just stop the pulse and set the bulb down. Taking the edge of her shirt, she wiped the sweat off her hands. An arm went across her forhead to get rid of the itch there. She repeatedly moved her hands over her pants to get the wierd feeling off before making sure the bulb itself wasn't gonna be slippery and settled it between her figertips once more. The pulse was still dim, as she let it flow again... but she knew it would be dim for a while... She had to build it up again in order to make it bright like it had been before... At the moment, she wondered how far Roy had gotten. Was he on his second handful of sand yet? Had he finished making a rock or two? These she did not know... She missed using her pulse to see... and she'd only stopped it like... twenty minutes or so ago... Not very long. However, it was a part of her comfort zone, and taking someone's comfort zone away doesn't make that person too pleasent. Atleats she knew no one was gonna attack her or anything... Or so she hoped... She was sure the others would help her if that happened though, despite the fact that one didn't know her and the other two disliked her...

The slight buzzing of the lightbulb kept her at ease, it grew slightly louder as she eased more chakra and held her pace. She was getting close, she could feel it... she just hoped she would make it this time. She just had to make this perfect and she would be fine. No pressure, right? Anything short of perfect would either break the bulb or drain her... Still no pressure? She was starting to feel small and ridiculous... There wans't much she could think of to improve her progress... She had a feeling she was going to come up short somewhere as she had last time. Would that stop her from continuing? No... but she'd probably sulk this time around. Despite what many may think of her, Shuiro was a perfectionist with what she did... She had to get it right... She could hardly take anything less. The only failures she found acceptable were when she fought against an opponent of greater status, or if her loss helped with her gain in the long run... And she didn't have much of those... Shaking her head, attempting to get all distracting thoughts away, she filled her mind with a dark void... Her mind would wander to nothing but her breathing, somewhat like meditation... only without the funny sitting positions. She knew she'd get the chakra control down eventually... She just wanted it to be sooner, rather than later. She figured that if she could beat Roy... maybe she might get a little respect from him and their furry sensei... She had her doubts about this... but she had her hopes too.

There wasn't much she could do, but increase the static she pushed and pulled from the lightbulb. So that's what she ended up doing... increasing the flow, bit by bit... She could feel the warm glow of the bulb in her hands, and still see the red behind her eyelids. She was doing fine... it was getting brighter... She just had a little more to go and it would be at it's max without breaking. Taking a deep breath, she had to mentally prepare herself for this, she leaked a tiny bit more with each pulse. One leak after another, it grew a tad brighter each time... Then it busted. Flinching at the noise, she shut off her pulse to keep the base from sparking and setting something on fire, she just tossed what was left to the side. Letting one hand rest on her knee, she rubbed her forehead, in disappointment, with the other. A frown appeared on her face once more and stayed there... Two fails in a row... damn, I suck... Guess the first one was just luck... I don't have what it takes to complete this, do I? She raked her mind for an answer... All she could think of were other putdowns... but she didn't want that to rule her. She didn't want to quit... She refused to be the dimwitted bimbo others saw her as... But in order to not be seen as such she had to succeed... and that's not something she was doing very well. She pondered about asking for assistance... but she wasn't sure how well that would go. Roy probably wouldn't be able to help her, his chakra and, most likely, chakra control was different from her... She was somewhat afraid to ask Etna... though she was their sensei, she didn't want to get scratched or anything for not being able to do it by herself. She shuddered slightly at the prospect before looking up and around. She had to find the blob that was the cat before she could speak... After all, it's wierd to face an open area and talk when the person you're talking to is somewhere else. "Um... Etna? I need a little assistance, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong..." Her voice was steady, though a bit quieter that usual... She wasn't sure if the cat would help her or not.

[DC=Chakra Control-2+Str Mod-2+1d20-1= 5 utter fail]
Yumi was not going to let herself be deceived that she would be allowed to die from her first training attempt with her new squad. She wanted to prove herself to her new team but she was realistic at the same time. This was above her level of skill and she knew it. But at the same moment she knew that if she wasn't pushed to advance then she would never grow in her shinobi skills and abilities. She looked down at how close the ground was and how quick it was approaching. She was slightly nervous but was trying to not let it affect her state of mind. Yumi looked determinedly back at the wall. She saw a place to put her hand to slow her approach to the ground and quickly reached for it. Concentrating the flow of her chakra to her hands so that hopefully she would slow herself down and only slip a little bit off of the rock.
What she had hoped for did her no good. Yumi's grip didnt' stick to the protruding rock at all. She had her fingers on it and then they slipped off before she could even fully grasp it. "Dang it." She said to herself. This wasn't going to end well. She couldn't deny what her gut was telling her, but she knew that she still had to make her best efforts to endure through this training. ((Thats okay I never have luck with the dice rolls either.)) [DC=Chakra Control-2+Str Mod-2+1d20-11=15 ]
She was getting slightly discouraged by the rough process of this training that Etna had pushed on Yumi. It was going to be a rough time but it would be worth it in the end, hopefully. Yumi was only about a foot away from the wall, so it was well within reaching distance. She reached her arm out. Everytime she did it was as if she had forgottten the pain that she kept enduring each time she touched it. Whether her hand had stuck and slowed her down or not, it stilled caused bruising and discomfort. She needed better chakra control and that she had already admitted to herself.
She had her arm outstretched as it came into contact with the wall. The wall basically spat at her and shoved her arm back into her direction. She pulled it towards her torso and held it there for a moment. That had definitely left a mark. She would have all sorts of scrapes, bumps and bruises from this training. Yumi wasn't one to be concerned with her physical appearance very much but this would just look somewhat bad. But this was the life she chose and the rough spots would constantly come along. She was dominately right handed but decided to make an attempt with her left hand to reach out to the fast moving wall. Post: 6/10 Completed: 2/5

She would reach her left hand out swiftly. It wasn't her dominant hand nor the hand that she had been using the entire time she had been trying to grab the surfaces of the wall as she zoomed downwards past it. It wasn't going to be easy especially since it wasn't her dominate hand but she would do her best. She had the thought in the back of her mind of what the cat, Etna, thought of her so far. She wouldn't ask but hopefully she would get somewhat of an idea when she would be done with this aspect of training, although the ending had yet to be determined.
It almost seemed like pure luck that she had managed to grab the shelf of the rock face with her left hand. She wasn't doing too bad, at least that was the thought that she had on the training. Yumi got a pretty decent grip on the wall and managed to hold it for a moment which made her pretty content with herself. The momentum from stopping suddenly made her slighlty nauseated feeling but it wasn't anything that she couldn't handle. Nausea was the least of her problems. She felt her fingers start to slip and eventually they released themselves from the face. She felt her stomach lurch as the motion of falling began yet again. Post: 7/10 Completed: 3/5

The ground seemed to becoming closer and closer to her location. She wasn't thrilled to see that happen but hopefully she would manage to stop herself on the face before it arrived. It was more like she was arriving to the ground though as the floor wouldn't move. Yumi continued with her left hand to still give her right arm a break after all she had put it through quite a bit of trama over the last several attempts at grabbing different places on the rocks.
She reached out yet again. It wasn't a far distance to reach but it was hard to push through the cutting wind to reach the stone face. Yumi grabbed it with her hand and managed to grasp it yet again. She had slowed herself down quite a bit from the beginning of the adventure down the cliffside. A slight smile was stuck on her face, it was awkward even for her to have a smile on her face in the middle of such peril. But she was impressing herself with her ability to learn and adapt to the situation at hand. Post: 8/10 Completed: 4/5

She was thinking that she was doing quite well with the task at hand. Hopefully Etna would be impressed with her response to the perilous training. Yumi was close to the ground but still far enough away that it would give her a few more chances to attach herself to the wall. Her right arm was definitely sore and would be for a little bit after the training at least. Bruises weren't going to be that big of a deal she could handle that with relative ease. She enjoyed training but this type was definitely something that she was going to have to get used to.
She reached out to grab a ledge that she saw fit to grab onto. The wall before her might as well just have smacked her hand for even trying. Much like a parent would do to a child that was trying to get into something that they shouldn't be. Yumi couldn't pull her hand back it was as if the wall had already decided she wasn't fit to place her hand there. Of course the wall couldn't judge her character but it seemed to not want to accept her hand there. She shook her hand while still falling towards the ground. She had one more chance to save herself from the ground below. Post: 9/10 Completed: 4/5

"This is my last chance." Yumi muttered aloud to herself. The adrenaline began to pulse through her system. It wasn't a small tolerable amount of adrenaline anymore, it made her heart race and her thoughts rapid. All she could do was try to focus on what she had to do to save herself from some extreme pain. The thud to the ground would not be enjoyable not in the slightest. Yumi reached out her hand and tried to grab another protruding ledge. If she failed to reach it then the next six feet or so would be gone in less than a second at the rate she was going.
Yumi missed the ledge and barely grasped it but didn't make enough contact with the edge. She watched her hand miss the ledge and not grab onto it. Her tiny frame would fall and lean backwards as she slipped and plummeted to the ground at the bottom of the cliff-side. She let out a small scream and then would thud into the ground at the bottom. It would hurt and she wasn't ready for the oncoming pain that was about to occur. Her adrenaline levels were still high and were expecting the threshold of pain to happen at any time. [[Hay rin, I was thinking of implementing this and, since you are helping me work out the kinks, for every completion you get, subtract 10% from the next dc. Soooo since you already had one completion, multiply .9 times the dc and that's your new dc.]]
Etna looked over the cliff, the girl was close but she was still working against herself. If it had been Roy or this bumbling blind girl, they would have caught on no problem... no this girl needed a bit more of assistance than Etna thought. Stomping her paw into the ground, a black line shot to the vally below Yumi. Yumi would land in something soft and cushioned... something furry and moving... something alive. She had landed on the back of the Hell Hound Cerberus.
"Now girl, climb your way back up here if you can." Etna turned to look to the other girl and looked her over. She then looked to Roy who was working on his third stone... damn over acheiver. She was still sore at the boy for capturing her, pety true but she didn't care. So she decided to give a bit of assitance.
"Your trying to force it instead of just letting it flow. Use both hands and allow your chakra to simply build up inside you before you put it into the item." She spoke low so Roy wouldn't hear.

((Is the DC the same for climbing back up the cliff side? And if so are the stats used the same as well?))
Yumi landed on the soft cushiony thing known as Cerberus, thanks to Etna. She felt the fur for a second and then realized what she was on. It hadn't been the hard ground that she had expected it to be. It was nice to not have come in contact with the ground that wouldn't have given her any mercy. Yumi would climb back up, if her body would allow her to.

(Sweet, I like that idea. XD Thank you! I'll try to edit the last post in those sets later, I'll be heading to class soon and then going to a friend's house for the weekend)
When Shuiro heard Etna's voice directed at her, she listened carefully. This would be information that would help her improve her technique... Being able to light three bulbs was a treat in itself, but she wanted to go further. She wanted to keep ahead of Roy. If she could beat him... well, he might respect her, insome sense or another... She wasn't sure. She just knew she had to continue working. Quickly wiping the sweat from her brow once more, she picked up another bulb, made sure it was in good condition before she started, and then eased it between her finger tips where she would push her chakra through. Closing her eyes, the paced brathing began, and with that her chakra flowed into the bulb from one hand, and out of the bulb through the other. Don't force it... let it flow... let it flow... She went into meditation mose now, body relaxed bit by bit... inch by inch, limb by limb. She could still feel the continuous swirl of static and chakra inside her, letting them connect and fuse together to create what she needed to make the light bulb burn. She could hear it's soft buzz as the fused chakra flowed down one arm into her fingertips and then back up the other arm and into the pool of chakra once more. She wa sgetting better at recycling her chakra... That would come in handy later... She was positive of that. After all, if someone could reuse their chakra over and over their could perform more jutsu, most likely. This was still just a theory of hers, but she was willing to try and create a jutsu that required reuseing one's chakra. With that, she's be a tough nut to crack in a battle.
