Meer, I know things look badly for your friend, but from experience --my dad left my mum (who has never worked) for his co-worker right after my mum had surgery-- things will eventually work out. Money might be tight for awhile but her mom is obligated to half the funds/assets when things are finalized (at least that's how it works here in the States). Put your own fears aside so you can be there 100% for your friend. Treat your own still-in-tact family as precious as it truly is. heart

It's not just men. I've seen plenty of mother leave thier family and/or have affairs. It's just less financially and more emotionally threatening when that happens in standard scenarios.
However if both parents work and the guy leaves the mother with the kids then he has to pay support. If the mother leaves the husband with the kids... they don't get anything from the mother typically.
It's all very weird.

I haven't got a decent night's sleep in what seems like two weeks. I've been getting karate elbowed in the head at least once every night from my sleeping boyfriend. I'm about ready to put a net down the middle of our bed to stop his night attacks! scream

I used to get elbowed, kneed, and one time I even woke up in a choke hold gonk what's with violent sleepers?! I finally was able to avoid "night attacks" by getting a queen sized bed and scootching away from him once he fell asleep, sucks cuz it involved less cuddling at bedtime, but it saved me from a concussion and/or broken ribs xp

I finally was able to avoid "night attacks" by getting a queen sized bed and scootching away from him once he fell asleep, sucks cuz it involved less cuddling at bedtime, but it saved me from a concussion and/or broken ribs xp We have a full sized bed and I find myself now fantasizing about having a queen! I don't mind cuddling, but I likes mah space when it comes to sleeping, especially now that his elbow has a mind of its own. stressed The worst is that he doesn't realize he does it. I shove him over to his side of the bed, and he just continues his pleasant somber while my head hurts... gonk

i hope my boyfriend's sister gets kicked out of the house.
because of some weird turn of events, she's causing chaos in their household and now their dad feels like changes must be made.
one of them is i can't sleep in the same bed as james anymore.
