"And we need a sling for Andarien," Earendil added. "Two arms free would be best while we're traveling."
"This way!" Amalirahc beamed, swallowing down the last of his bun and pointing down the street. "Come on, the clothes people are nicer than the rest! At least they used to be!"

"Use to be?"
Lin turned down the street where Amalirahc pointed. They had time before lunch so they might as well check. Amalirahc saying they use to be didn't sound good to her.

Amalirahc looked up at Lin and shrugged innocently. "Well, it was last year. You never know what might have happened between then and now."
Earendil chuckled. "True enough," he grinned. "But you know, Amalirahc, you're rather like your mother. You like creating worry where there isn't any."
"I just don't assume things," Amalirahc quipped, his eyes sparkling.

"Yes but try not to be so pessimistic while trying not to assume," Lin replied with a smile, "Besides you didn't say they might not be nice as last year, you say the use to be as nice as last year."
She liked to not worry about things like that, but it was different now it wasn't just her and Earendil.

Amalirahc pouted. "But I just said that in case the store changed hands! They're old people, and humans don't live very long!"
It wasn't as if he was hoping they would be gone, it was just a concern he'd had.

Lin smiled a bit and ruffled Amalirahc's hair, "Well I didn't know that, maybe give me a bit of context next time so I don't think that maybe something happened last year to caused them to maybe not be as nice this year?"
She didn't mean to give Amalirahc a hard time, but she honestly thought something had happened.

"Sorry," Amalirahc said cheerfully. He ran ahead of them suddenly and opened the door to one of the shops, holding it for the others to lead the way inside. "In here!" he beamed.
Earendil let the others go in first, then followed. The tailor's shop was as well-lit as the baker's, and all around the walls were bolts of cloth in various colours and patterns. There was a changing stall closed off by a curtain in one back corner, and the other corner had a large table, covered with scraps of cloth and sewing tools, and two stools.
An elderly man was sitting on one stool, at the table, his hair gray, his face wrinkled, but his clothes were neat and sturdy. He looked up at the group as they entered the shop and called out a soft Good morning.

"Good morning," Lin replied back.
At least she could do that much, like Miyuki she was still a bit rough with it. Though she had a feeling she had a slightly more difficult time with it than MIyuki did. After all Lin was no longer a young growing Second.

Earendil smiled down at Lin. "Would you like me to take care of the order?" he asked her. "You and Miyuki aren't very strong with the language yet, but I've been speaking it for as long as I can remember."
Amalirahc had hurried in behind the others and skittered straight to one of the bolts of cloth to inspect it. River followed him, curious.
Andarien was trying to look around, though being held in a laying down position, it was a bit difficult for him.

"Please," Lin murmured, "And ask if there's any good strong fabric to make a sling out of too."
If they could get it all done in one place all the better.
"Miyuki, why don't you go with ada and see if there are any colours or styles you want."
She motioned Miyuki with one hand.
"Okay...." Miyuki murmured, she wasn't so sure.
She didn't realize there were so many choices for clothes!

Earendil smiled and Miyuki. "Choose a colour that you like," he told her in a murmured, "and then I'll help you choose a good material."
He set off to talk to the tailor, hoping the man was as pleasant as he'd seemed at first.

Miyuki in the end chose yellow, which wasn't surprising as she seemed to love bright colours. The only colour she ever seemed to love more than yellow was red (and maybe green but only because it made her hair seem redder if that was possible).
Of course she also expressed her wish for it to be a dress of some sort, she loves dresses. Overall, Miyuki was just plain excited that she got to make choices for her clothing.

While Miyuki was looking for a fabric, Earendil chose some material to use for Andarien's sling, and after the tailor took measurements and wrote them down, he asked them to return the following day and bid them farewell. Then it was back out into the street with the group, and off on their next adventure.
Lunch went without too much hassle, a quick meal at the local tavern, and then River wanted to see if there was a book store of some sort. THere wasn't, and she was gravely disappointed, and then Amalirahc suggested they check out the woodsmith's.
This particular shop was a bit darker, and smelled very strongly of varnish and stains, and unlike the tailor's shop and the baker's where the men were working in view of the customers, this shop was entirely filled with display shelves, and there was an elderly man minding the counter. From his gnarled fingers, it was clear that he would be incapable of creating the works around them (mostly furniture, though there were one or two items that were not).

The pieces within the shop were quite interesting, especially for MIyuki who liked the smell of wood. Best of all if she was careful she could touch them too and feel the smoothness under her finger tips. Like before, she also like smelling them, though she thought the shop perhaps smelled a bit too much like varnish and stains.

River put one hand to her nose and opened her mouth slightly to breathe through it instead. It smelled quite strong to her in there, though she would be the first to admit that she liked what she saw.
"They should ventilate the place," she murmured softly.
Amalirahc grinned and kept looking around. He didn't mind the smell one bit. "Their stuff isn't too bad here," he said.
