Evelyn Evelyn pulled the boy's arm back around her shoulders, and walked off with him, hearing him mumbling strange things and words she hadn't heard since she finished chemistry. While put off by that, she knew she needed to help the poor boy. Evelyn began stumbling about, finding herself unable to support both their weight, despite the boy's age and size. She heard a strange noise somewhere far off, but was too focused on keeping upright to pay attention.

Be good...
Lorika gave a small shriek as the man gripped both of her arms and flung her to the side, hands reflexively shooting to her face. She cowered away for a few moments as he bounded to the door. She heard him ripping it open, but didn't see - her eyes were tightly shut.
Somewhere inside, though. a small voice was telling her that she had to move. She was a priestess, and she had to stop this.
Eyes flying open, she caught sight of the Professor. The world seemed to move a lot more slowly as she lunged forward, reaching out, the sound of her own heartbeat drumming in her ears.
[Pacify]
She fell short as he began to move off, her fingertips just grazing his shoulder. Still, it was enough. She felt the power go out of her and into his veins, calming him like a soothing breeze from within. Evelyn was safe... for now.
...and you will be lonesome.

A calm wind blew over panda as he left the room. He'd let evelyn go for now. He had something else he wanted to do now though. He turned around and walked back into the study and straight up to lorika.
"I didn't hurt you did I? I wouldn't mean too." was all he could mutter to her, not able to look her in the eye.

Coline's stance wilted as he spoke. Ever since her return from the cave she'd been preparing herself for this, albeit constantly having to suppress her urge to run away. But she wasn't going to run away, not this time. Just as she was about to open her mouth to speak the drow suddenly took back his words, and her eyes rose slowly to gaze upon her beloved Captain, single red eye cast down in shame. He was... too kind.
And he would soon find out that this was where it all began.
"I lost my trident after our sparring session a week ago." she started, lowering her eyes to stare at their linked hands. "I was devastated with the thought of losing it, of course. That trident is very important to me. But I couldn't bring myself to tell you because... well..."
"At first it was because of humiliation. The Captain would surely think poorly of me if he found out I'd carelessly misplaced my weapon--that was what I thought. So one night I decided to sneak out into the Training Grounds to look for it, but as fate would have it, it wasn't there." a small smile crept up her lips. "I wasn't expecting for anyone to turn up so early, but you did. Do you remember?"
"Ever since then you were so kind to me, from that blanket, to carrying me all the way to the Priestess to be treated, right down to when you... in the living room... It was all so... overwhelming. I was so happy..." a thoughtful silence filled the air. "...I tried to tell you all about it last night, but it's just that..." her brow curled up, guilt starting to build up inside her again. "It's just that you've already done so much for me that I couldn't bring myself to ask you for anything more..."
After a few more moments of silence the recruit took in a deep breath, letting the air out slowly through her nostrils, and continued. "So I decided to take my trident back on my own. Had everything gone smoothly there wouldn't have been any problem, but as you already know, I've been found out." she shook her head, memories of what happened that night leaving a bitter taste in her mouth. "I wasn't planning on coming back so soon either, but Bapp... what's happened to him... it reminded me of my duty as a soldier, how I shouldn't run away from my responsibilities; that I should face the consequences of my own actions no matter how dire."
"And now here I am." Coline rose her head back up to look the drow in the eye. "I'm truly sorry for having worried you, Jessie. It was... rather selfish of me. But that's the whole story," her lips curved up to a now-familiar smile. "No lies this time."

Feline looked on in bewildered shock as a feisty girl barged into the study and threw her shoes and some rolls at Panda. The shoes and a roll smacked right into the professor and then a barrier caused the rest to fly straight at her. Deftly dodding the rolls meant for the professor she tried not to knock into anything in the study. Feline stood back taking in the whole situation and began laughing. It started out a soft chuckle but grew to a full out laugh born from inner tensions being released. She watched the Professor run out of the door in a frothing rage after his assailant only to be stopped by the tiny High Priestess. “The great magical genius assaulted by rolls and protected from it! This is the best day ever.” She was laughing so hard by this point that she was doubled over and slightly wheezing with tears coming out of her eyes. The situation was just too ridiculous not to! Feline’s laughter calmed down a little by the time Panda was walking back into the study in a subdued way that seemed slightly uncharacteristic to the grumpy man she had observed and knew that it had to have been some form of magic from the Priestess that was saving the assailant from further harm. “Oh how the mighty have fallen,” she hiccupped slightly, wiping tears from her eyes trying to bring her laughter under control. Best day ever indeed. When Panda stopped to speak softly to the High Priestess, Feline decided to jump on the opportunity of his distraction to look more into the magical artifacts in the study. She came here for magical knowledge and she was going to try and get as much in as she could. She was careful not to touch anything as she slowly moved towards a jeweled rod that was near her to get a better look. It was sitting next to a matched set of bracelets. The rod was a rainbow of different colored jewels while the bracelets were covered in a aquamarine jewel that reminded Feline of the ocean surf. Next to these was a torque with a huge blue green gem set on each ending that met in the front of the neck and off to the side was a metal chain that dangled a large amethyst meant to hold it on a person's forehead. It was a strange collection to be found in a man's magical study, but each piece had a power about it. It looked very similar to some of the augmenting devises they had in her homeland. The gems seemed to sing to her as their tiny vibrations spoke out to the world. She had been one of the few back home that was able to speak to crystals and she was happy to see that the ability was not lost to her here. ((edited: realized he was talking to Lorika...not assailant also realize that shoes and a roll hit Panda *sighs* really need to pay attention when I read. sweatdrop )) ((Edit again: She came to the study for magic, not to raep the unwilling proffessor...just thought I'd remind everyone of that.. XP willing is another story, her society isn't as prudish about such things. But she just wants to use him for his magic.))

"Top hat?" she asked, laughing. "Sounds like my type of guy; I like to wear top hats too." It was then that she noticed Harata seemed distant, mentioning a boat crashing. "Boat?" Alexi asked. "Oh, is that the one I saw out in the water a couple of days ago?"

So would you mind if I bared my soul? Jessie looked back up at her just as she averted her own gaze and began her tale. He listened quietly to the first part, a sad smile on his face as she told him how afraid she'd been of his disapproval. He'd figured that much out for himself, of course. Silly Coline. His Coline.
His smile faltered at her question.
"Of course I remember, Coline," he whispered, rather gravely "How could I forget?"
How could he forget? That was the morning that things began to change - for him, at least. But he couldn't help but feel that from the moment they first touched there had been something underlying, just waiting to blossom; something so wonderful it would lift them both higher. He couldn't believe he hadn't really thought about this sooner, or that he'd gone all those weeks without hardly noticing her. It was strange how these moments with her somehow felt completely disconnected to everything else in his life, to everything that had come before. This was his world now, with her. She was his world. She brought him higher. She enlightened him.
These thoughts, and a familiar, warm feeling enveloped him from within. Unconsciously, he'd begun to draw nearer to her - but once he noticed, he didn't pull back. He stayed that way, face hovering inches above the top of her bowed head, hands clasped between them. He was trying to listen intently, but... it was so tempting to just close his eye and listen to the sound of her voice...
His eye did close, and he felt her move before he saw it. Opening it again, the sight of her face in the dim light, so close to his own, was dreamlike - like a vision. Jessie didn't know how many times he'd thought it already that evening, but he thought it again - she was so beautiful... and he was so incredibly lucky.
She finished speaking, and he just... continued to watch her. He wasn't exactly lost for words. He just didn't want to try too hard to find them. Some came to him unbidden - words that he knew might just frighten her off. That sobered him a little, as did her expectant eyes, and he had to rifle around to find something more appropriate.
"Coline..." he said eventually, eyes flicking away and back to hers as he fumbled. As he kept going, however, they began to come so naturally and unbidden he might have been speaking with his heart as opposed to his mouth. He thought about telling her not to apologise, as he had done before; shucking off her concern and opinion. But that wasn't the right way to go. He needed to accept her, as he longed for her to accept him.
"If you want to apologise," he breathed, voice more steady than he could have hoped for "Or if you want to thank me... just... let me give you everything, as I desire. Let me love you, and have faith in me, and never be frightened of what I might think or say or do. Please... just trust me, and believe me when I say that-" he faltered and paused, but it was too late now. He managed to hold her gaze, though his heart began to thump a little in fear. She might not like to hear it, but... "I love you." If I came right out and said 'You're beautiful'? (( I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS NOW *chokes* T~~~T heart heart heart ))

Do I contol the blades in my hands? He walked quickly from his room, a steady pace, a man on a mission. The stone corridors were slowly emptying, the pilgrims and devout on there way to evening mass, and it was easy to wade through the stragglers. He spotted The high priestess from the railing on the staircase leading down a couple of floors to ground level, him atop it, and her walking by. The near spiral staircase was flooded with orange light, the sun setting slowly, And Storm leaped down, coming down gracefully and proficiently. His combat skills and knowledge may be lost, but his dexterity and keened reflexes were not gone from him in this world. He apparently was some shock to the passerby, and he stood, striding down the hall, catching Lorika by the arm gently. "Miss Lorika, there is something I must see to." he started. "Something unnatural this way comes..."
Or do they control me?
