Nathan turned to him, confused. "Why would it kill you? You didn't hurt me, and it was an accident I didn't even notice... why would it kill you?" he murmured, watching Yoru's eyes.

"You shouldn't worry yourself. It is only an old tradition. I am forced to follow such rules but it does not mean that I would constantly be punished if I were to stray from them. That was only put in place to avoid slaves trying to kill their own masters."

Nathan turned to face him. "I... would it be better for you if I - no, you answered that already." he smiled weakly. "You'd die too. But otherwise, maybe... it would be better for you if I died. At least you'd be free - you didn't choose to belong to me." he mumbled, looking away.

He frowned, confused. "I'd be grateful for the company, but why would you want to?" The Angel continued with the cooking, putting the vegetables into a frying pan to cook them a little as he started grating cheese.

Yoru did as he was told without saying another word. He wasn't surprised that Nathan asked that question, but it did upset him a little. The more he thought about it though, the more it seemed strange for him to say, "it's because I love you". He could never tell Nathan that because he felt that wasn't something he would ever be allowed to say.

"I'm sorry, Yoru..." he whispered, watching what he was doing so he wouldn't worry Yoru again by accidentally cutting himself. "I'm messed up, and no-one should have to deal with that except me, myself and I. But you will always be allowed to express an opinion, no matter what I say - is there a way to permanently allow you to do something?" he wondered, turning his head just in time for his thumb to get cut instead of the cheese.
"Ow...I'm doing well, aren't I? I just need a few broken bones and my collection will be complete!" he joked, about to suck his thumb - until he remembered Yoru liked the taste. "Up to you?" he offered his thumb.

Yoru stopped what he was doing. He walked over to Nathan once again. He took his thumb and pressed it to his own lips gently. He let the blood flow into his mouth. "All I want is to serve you in whatever way I can."
