There was a rustling in the bushes and a little blue boy popped out, walking to the beach cautiously.
Naida quickly pushed Proteus off of her and blushed, "Kelde! What are you doing here?"

"Ow..." Proteus blinked and looked between the boy and Naida with confusion.

"Mommy got tired of me and sent me to my lesson. She said you said I could come back this week for another one." Kelde dipped his tiny hooves in the water, pulling a small set of water daggers up with his hooves.
Naida sighed, remembering. "I did tell your mom that, but...this isn't really a good time, Kelde."
Kelde frowned and eyed Proteus. "Is he bothering you? Should I try and fight him?"
Naida smiled and laughed, "No no no. This one is alright. I was just teaching him a little bit about the water. His name is Proteus. Proteus, this is Kelde, the son of one of my herdmates."

"Kelde, I don't think I'm going to be able to give you lessons today. I didn't know you were coming, so I promised Proteus I would spend the day with him. Tell your mother I'm sorry and that I'll set a date with her ahead of time for next week."
"But," the little boy protested.
Naida gave him a stern look. "I know we've had a discussion on waiting. Waiting for the right time to strike is the same as waiting for a lesson. Patience is key. Now, am I going to have any other protests from you today?"
Kelde shook his head. "No Sifu Naida."

"Aw, Naid, don't cancel on account of me," Proteus said feeling bad for the little kid. "Why don't you two go on. I'll just wait on the beach..."

Naida shook her head. "No. A promise is a promise. If I broke this, I wouldn't be a very good teacher. Warriors don't break promises, even the smallest ones."
Kelde smiled, "That's right! If Naida promised you, then I come later."
She smiled at Kelde. "You remember that lesson well. Now promise me you'll go home to your mother and tell her to get in touch with me?"
"I will. Bye!" He smiled and ran back up the beach, heading for the woods.

"It's alright, Proteus. I wasn't really in the mood for a lesson anyway. My attention would have been divided and he wouldn't have gotten a good lesson. And you know I refuse to do anything half way."
