Kisa let Faith punch her. It wasn't worth fighting this one. Shane whimpered again, then screamed. His arm felt like it was on fire, and his heart was racing.

Faith looked back to Shane. "What did you do to him?" she demanded.

Kisa seemed just as concerned as Faith. "It...it was just a flesh wound," she said, then ran to Shane's side. "Shane? Brother?!" she cried. She pulled out the dagger to examine it, and licked the blade clean of his blood to see if he was ill. She made a face, turned, and spat, then turned back, seemingly panicked. "The blade was dipped in poison," she said. "But not by me. I don't rely on poison. Brother, forgive me!"

"Dammit, you did this to your own brother!" Faith cried and almost hit Kisa again. "Hope, come on!" Hope unsteadily stood up and went over. Faith pulled Shane up. "Help me," she said to her sister. Hope nodded and the two lifted him up and started to move back towards their home.

Kisa fell to her knees, sobbing. "Please, save him," she begged the girls. "Please save Shane."

"Shut up!" Faith cried back to her as they made it through the trees. "Come on, Shane," Hope said to him as they ran.

Shane's face was flushed and he had a fever. The wound was red and painful from the poison, and he drifted in and out of consciousness. Kisa wiped the tears from her face and stood. She disappeared again, to where she had been staying, not far away. She went through her things hurriedly, searching for any herbs or plants that might help.

Faith and Hope carried him in and put him on the couch, Hope went to the kitchen and got something to clean and dress the wound. Faith went to find her father. She explained briefly what had happened. Her father grabbed a gem and went up to where Shane was lying. Hope put a cold cloth on Shane's head to help and reduce his fever.

Shane whimpered in pain and tried to turn away from the cool cloth.
Kisa grabbed a bag of herbs and sprinted as quickly as she could to the house. She dashed in the door, looking around for Shane.

Their father pressed the gem against the wound and it began to draw the poison out of Shane's body. Hope stood by and fretted over Shane. Faith turned when she saw Kisa run in. "what do you what, Demon?" she demanded, angrily.

"I brought herbs to help him," Kisa answered coldly, looking for a moment like she would slap Faith.

"Right, 'help'," Faith said and rolled her eyes. "Seems like the only things you've done is help him to the grave."

"I never dipped that blade in poison!" Kisa screamed, her hand balling into a fist at her side. "I only want to help him recover! What are you doing to help your friend, girl?" She pushed past Faith to be closer to Shane. "Sir," she said to the girls' father. "Let me know when the poison's gone, I've got something to help him wake."

"I'm trying to protect him from the person who hurt him," Faith retorted and jumped in front of her again. Hope looked at Kisa, nervously.

"Keep me away from my brother and I'll see to it you're hurt next, girl," Kisa snarled. "Now move it!" Then she turned to Hope and tossed the bag to her. "Little one, the leaves in there, crush them up. The scent will help Shane wake." She slipped into a position to attack Faith if she didn't move.
