The reminder of Io running snapped her back to some semblance of herself. Sighing lightly she shook her head. *I was never interested in protecting things, but people. I failed so badly in doing that...* she looked around again. *But there are still people to protect. There's no sense in howling vainly at the past. These memories are still ours. It stays to us to do what we will with them. We cannot blame the past for being what it is. But to let it ccrush us entirely will not salvage this tragedy.* she touched the mask on her face. *Nor will it free the rest of us. Even if it wasn't a predetermined destiny that brought us to this moment in time...there are still things to be gained from it.*

Nika blinked at the mention of killing. There was no need to be killing anyone, and he was not about to let one of his daughters kill her sister. Zahar may have caused this curse, but she was still his daughter and that was enough incentive for him to protect her. Although, he had never imagined that he would be protecting her from her own sister.
He stared fixedly at the shard of the mask in Io's hand. It was strange; thinking about the life that had been connceted to it. The life might have had a family, friends, a career. His stomach clenched.
'We have lost so much, yes,' he sighed and closed his eyes, 'But we are still here. We are luckier than those that aren't. They are the ones who have lost the most.'
He squeazed Shiva's hand, 'I doubt anyone could have stopped what happened from happening.'
It was difficult to tell if he was trying to convince them or himself. Maybe if he'd had more time...

"I should have tried." Was all she said, heading for the exit. "The Chapel is across the way... but I don't think the roof is in as good a shape as the ones we were just under."

She just clutched quietly on to Nika's hand. She felt foolishly inept and helpless all of a sudden. Not a feeling she cared for. Quietly trying to pull herself together despite her earlier words of faux wisdom, she continued to follow.
Chae had found the bushel of flowers on awakening. Their scent had infiltrated her dreams before that, but she had no way of knowing they were real.
no way...
Holding them in her arms, she breathed in the scent slowly, gently. There might have been a smile on her lips, but it was one of worry and self-deprecation.
The gift she had left out for Shi...sensing somehow the need for it would be soon had been taken. She had seen her girl training constantly. Running, sparring with herself, pushing her limits in every way. She had seen the intense and focused look in her eyes, a driven, ferocious thing that she had not seen there before. And she knew the need.
It had taken her brother some time to get the armor from her child's outfit remodeled to fit the larger frame. But he had done it in record time. As she had held it in her fingers, a feeling of dread so strong as to be dizzying had assaulted her, and she had wanted nothing more than to bundle Shi up and hide her somewhere safe.
Chae knew that Shiva would not allow that. Nor had chae the right to impose such a thing on her.
The partnership endured...a limping, fragile and wounded thing. Too delicate to touch or hold, lest it shatter entirely. She felt the thread that connected her and Shiva stretched thinly between them, unravelling a thread at a time. At any moment, it might snap entirely.
How did this happen? What had they done that suddenly put so much distance where there had been none?
She hadn't been on Masquerade as long as the others. She had no knowledge of what happened to them on growing. She still had almost no idea what they even were or why. Noone had ever offered her those answers, and she had been content not knowing. Perhaps now she needed to know.
But who could she ask? Who would talk to her.
Putting the flowers in a vase, she fussed over them briefly, face still set in that sad, faraway gaze.

((OK guys -- hope you don't mind me randomly . . . you know. . . posting. This was the only place I could think of reintroducing myself. O.o;; Pardon any vagaries about the world in my post. I'm still trying to pick up pieces. Heh -- guess this is what I get for taking a half-a-year hiatus. ._. ))
They were back they were back they were back they were back they were back. The thoughts rolled through Satehl's mind as he tugged on Uta to hurry hurry hurry. They were back home. Finally finally finally. After what seemed like days and days and months and years. . . after what tasted like eternity they were finally back home on the familiar landscape of Masquerade.
Well -- as familiar as Satehl could remember. Things had changed over time. Certainly the flora and fauna looked similar. Certainly the trees and colours all came alive within his mind. Oh how had he missed this place!
Just being on the soil and grass, just the feeling of LIFE and VITALITY this place gave. . . Oh, finally they'd come back.
Just like Uta had said they would!
He had soooo many stories to tell his friends! So many things to tell them -- oh, would they even remember him? What were they all up to, the boy couldn't help but wonder. Was Ash still mischievious as ever with Fauve? Were they still gonna pull his hair like they used to do? Was Cern still. . . well. . . . tough and Mr. Earth and Serious? Was Io still big and pretty and sharp as nails? Was Galilee still serious and too grumpy for his own good?
Oh he could hardly wait to see them all! Would they remember him? Would they miss him? Oh, they could all finally DO things together again.
Come on Uta, hurry up! We've gotta find them! He glanced impatiently back to his guardian who struggled to keep up. Whatever was taking her so long? Wasn't she excited to be back?
No more space-ships. No more lostness.
Just . . . .home.
Uta trailed behind Satehl, trying to keep hold of him long enough to slow his pace. Just because they were ON the planet didn't necessarily mean they were nearby. Time had changed the place, but now that she was here, now that she finally was grounded and within the living planet. . . Now Uta could truly use her magic and gifts.
Searching the land, the rivers, the trees, the air, Uta tried hard to sense the predators of Masquerade. ROUS, Rade, and other such creatures she found. . .
But those she had quickly bipassed. Uta had searched long and hard before finding exactly what she'd hoped to find -- people. Humans. Creatures of unidentifiable sources. And, most importantly, aura's similar to her own Satehls.
THAT was where they needed to be, and it didn't take long to reach it. Her target had been off -- the pilot could only land on a smoothe surface, but it was closer than either Uta or Satehl had been in . . . .ages.
Now that they were searching the land, trying to pin-point the Home-Base, Uta had to be careful. This wasn't like the ships and other planets -- she knew what lurked behind shadows and within the heart of these woods.
Rade were back on her mind, and ROUS's close behind. No, she did NOT want to deal with a festation of unusually sized rodents. "Now just wait a minute, hang on Satehl," the woman caught up to the boy, grabing his hand in an attempt to slow his pace. "We have to find our bearings and -- hey, hang on a minute! We don't want to get lost like we did last time, do we?"
Satehl groaned at the hold-up, over-dramatizing the entire situation by falling against the closest treat and giving his guardian the most exasperated look. They were so close he could FEEL it. His friends HAD to be nearby . . .or at the very least their home!
Scratching at the tree, he stared at Uta while she did her . . . stuff. Why did everything take soooooo long? Why couldn't they be there NOW. It would be a great reunion. It would be just . . . WONDERFUL.
It HAD to be.
Oh, finally he was back with those like him. . . . Out of all the cities, countries, planets and galaxies he'd visited -- he'd never been able to fully fit in. He'd been different, strange, and a nobody. No one there knew what he was, nor did they know WHO he was.
They were never anything more than travellers passing through . . .
Well -- the only travelling HE wanted to do was around Masquerade.
Like when he went fishing.
Fishing.
FISH!
The light that sparked behind his eyes eyes blazed as he remembered. . . Oh, did Uta still have them? Oh oh oh . . . .That's right! He'd almost forgotten!
How could he have done something like that?
Now they really had to get home ASAP! They had THINGS to show, THINGS to give --- Why oh why couldn't they leave yet!??? Uta~! Come on! I know we've gotta be close . . . This is gonna be GREAT! Just . . Just great! Do you think they'll remember us? Oh do you do you do you??? Aren't you so glad we're back??? Come on! We're keeping them all waiting~!
Uta almost regretted having to take her time. One wrong turn was all it would take for them to be lost completely. Hearing his hyper-active chatter did send a smile to her lips. It was the happiest he'd been in . . . a long time.
"Yes yes, we're going, I promise." Keeping on task, the woman pushed her way through the forest, alert for any . . . oddeties or predators. She wasn't taking a chance again -- not until they were firmly settled BACK at the base.
Keeping a firm grip on Satehl's collar, Uta trecked closer and closer to the bounderies of the camp. Yes, things were certainly different and had certainly changed.
There were trails and paths now. . . Though whether they were made by the animals of the forest of wandering masque's and their guardians. . . well. . . Uta could only hope that some were made by the latter.

Kataio F She shuddered a bit as he bowed, believing that she did not deserve to be bowed to. 'I can take care of the dishes myself, thank you for you offer though Kenshi. If you would like to go to the ruins it is best that we start out while it is still early. If you would like I will wash these dishes up in the house that I share with Kataio, and Haisyn,' Zahar pointed at one of the houses so he knew which one she was talking about. 'while you may go to Rhiannon'a ship to grab your supplies and meet me either here at this table or inside my house?'
Zahar stood now as well, stretching a bit with a faint smile in her eyes. She ran her hands down the front of her dress, and turned her head into the breeze to brush the strands of loose hair away from her mask. Yes, she would help this one get to the ruins. Then she will go off on a quest of her own. Maybe she could start to dig up old sites, map out the land again for the rest. Taking a deep breath and then letting it out she reached down for the tray and picked it up. Maybe then she can start to study her powers, and magic again. Maybe some how she can learn how to reverse the spell other then having someone release them. Zahar looked to Kenshi for what he would like to do. (( *Ten years a later, a post from her finally gets posted.* I made the trip up and back from Rhia's ship and the town/village nonexistent, 'cause I figured it'd be lame to have Kenshi wandering for three paragraphs. xd )) Kenshi nodded silently and his bright eyes turned to the house Zahar was pointing to. He narrowed them for a moment, studying the house, before turning to look back up to Zahar. Yes, I will meet you there when I return.
Giving the other masque a final bow, he turned and picked up his glaive from where it rested against the table and started the short journey back to Rhia's ship. Half of him was hoping that the demoness was nowhere to be found, but the other half was hoping she was there, if for nothing else than so he could at least tell her he would be gone for most of the day. She didn't seem to be too fond of him, but she was his Chosen and he would treat her with the respect and loyalty one of the status deserved.
As he approached the ship his gut tightened a little, but he kept his face calm and his breathing steady. If she wasn't here, he would just grab his armor and a few extra things and leave. If she was here, well, he would just have to see how things went. A small, cynical smile tugged at his lips as he punched in the code and the outer door opened to allow him entrance. She would probably just wave a hand at him, or say good riddance, perhaps even mumbling something or totally ignoring him in the first place.
As he stepped in, he waited a moment for his eyes to adjust before quietly heading down the hall and to the room that served as his and Rhia's sleeping quarters. Upon opening the door, four sets of large ears perked and turned in his direction. He smiled to the four Faemice huddled together on the floor and gave them a small wave, not bothering to tell them it was just him or that it was alright, as they wouldn't be able to hear him. Stepping up to his bunk, he rested the glaive against the wall and leaned into it; pulling out and slipping on the pieces of his armor one by one as he came across them.
That done, he readjusted his helmet before silently moving to the opposite side of the room and kneeling down in front of a dark, wooden chest. He unlatched and opened it, gazing down at the small handful of weapons he owned. He sat for a moment, debating, and then finally opted to take them all, as there was so little of them to begin with. He took the pair of sai and slipped them into his belt, along with the energy sword he had gotten around Christmastime. Before getting to his feet, however, he bowed his head and closed his eyes; a silent prayer rolling off his tongue that asked for protection for not just himself and Zahar, but all his fellow masques.
Opening his eyes, the small Samurai rose to his feet and collected his glaive before heading out. Giving the present Faemice a small smile and a bow, he headed down the hall and out of the ship. He glanced back before exiting though, still half hoping he would run into Rhia. But she wasn't there, and he had known as much. As he stepped out of the ship and the door slowly slid closed, a small, blue form shot out of the ship and towards the masque. He blinked a few times and took a step back, watching as Malus came to hover just in front of his face.
"And where might you be going, hmm?" The Faerie purred softly, his slender fingers running through his long, shimmering hair. He received a small grimace and a slight shake of the boy's head before he turned and started walking away. Malus, not so easily deterred, flitted after him; his butterfly wings beating furiously. "Well, wherever you're going I'm going too. It shall be a greater enjoyment than just lounging around here all day, I'm sure."
Kenshi held back a soft sigh that built up in his chest and just continued walking, knowing it would be no good to try and talk to Malus. Besides, the Faerie had an odd way about him and tended to hear only what he wanted to hear. Even if Kenshi could speak to him, the boy doubted Malus would listen to what he said.
As the pair neared the village, Kenshi silently turned towards the house Zahar had pointed out, not that pleased that Malus had decided to accompany him for the time being, but not really able to stop him. He stopped a few yards from the house, but in a spot where he had a clear view of the front door, and set the end of his glaive onto the ground. As soon as Zahar was ready, they'd set out for the ruins. This gave him a small flutter of excitement in his stomach, but at the same time he was slightly reluctant in going. He still had no idea what it was he was searching for, or what he thought he might find, but again, he just felt he had to go.

"Hang on a minute, Satehl!" Uta tugged her boy back for the umpteenth time. They'd been travelling the woods for what felt like hours. How many miles had they travelled? With all the stop and go and checking of locations (as well as nearby predators) Uta wasn't sure HOW soon they were going to make it home.
Satehl was literally electric with excitement. It seemed like everytime she touched him she got a shock, and the occassional "zzzzzzzt!" sounds could be heard as his excitement ran up and down his mask.
She knew he wanted to just run until he finally was home -- but she couldn't let him go.
"I know we're close," she explained, wishing for all the world that the colongy would come into view. "But a few meters off is all it will take for us to by pass the place completely!" Yes, that was partially exaggerated but the predator mage was NOT going to take another risk.
Her previous risk had knocked them light years away from this planet. . .
She wasn't going to run the risk of another problem.
But we're so CLOSE! Satehl wasn't whining -- not really. He just wanted to be home. The anticipation was killing him! He'd waited for so long and now, away from all his friends and the people he cared about. Away from the familiar sights, smells, and action that ruled this place. . . .
He'd been left to wander the stars and galaxies with his guardian, but now that they were home. . . Oh, he'd never felt so lonely or impatient yet! He was the closest he'd been to them in what felt like ages. . . . And the slight distance was driving him insane!
Banging his head against another tree, much to his guardians displeasure, Satehl could almost remember the area. The entire scene held a sense of familiarity to him . . . The trees, the paths. . . Over grown and some looked unused but. . .
But. . . . They had to be close. They just had too!
A silence fell between the pair. Satehl tilted his head as he listened. A few birds chirruped in the trees, a gentle wind rustled the leaves of the woods but. . . but there was something else.
A sound.
Vague. Perhaps imaginary but a sound nonetheless.
It was a noise that sounded like. . . .
Movement.
People? Was that a voice or the wind? Was that the vague sound of something being scraped against earth? A rock? What. . . could it be?
It didn't sound like an animal -- but if it was Satehl was bound and determined to find out!
Stealing a quick look at Uta (she was staring off in the distance -- had she heard the sound too?) Satehl was sick and tired of waiting. For better or for worse he was going. . . Going. He was gone.
Bolting through the woods, he didn't dare listen to his guardian as she yelped at him to stop. She was following, but Satehl was faster. Quicker. Speedier. Zig-zagging in and out of the trails, pushing his way through the low branches and the woods, he searched for the sound. For the noise.
It was somewhere ahead of him, wasn't it? It had to be. . . Squinting, ignoring Uta's calls, he pushed his body forward, little worrying about the thistles and branches that snagged and snapped at him.
Was that a clearing? Did the forest suddenly start to clear. . .? Oh - - - could it be? Had they finally found it??
HEY GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS he screamed for anyone. It HAD to be home -- it just HAD to be! HEY GUYS I'm HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone had to be around?
Oh PLEASE let someone hear him. Oh please oh please oh please oh please oh PLEASE!

Chaeval had heard the racket before actually seeing anything. It seemed like a wild beast...or two...or three. What COULD it be?
Not wanting to take the chance, she crouched low amongst the tomatos, pulling her gun from its holster and peering about carefully. She never thought that vegetables would make a good hiding place, but there was little room for embarrassment when practicing common sense.
Of course....if she died here, that might be time to be embarrassed...

Uta couldn't believe it!
Why did he always have to run when he wasn't SUPPOSED to. Argh -- the boy had pushed her buttons before but deliberately taking off. . . Eh. . . . Uta wondered if she needed to buy him a leash and collar just to keep him still.
If he got eaten, in trouble, or ran head into some Rade or other beast. . .
Argh.
Still -- it was Satehl. Deep down the woman was pleased. For awhile there he'd actually LISTENED to her and not pulled compulsive mischief. Him doing his own thing was a tell-tale sign that he was . . . happy. Or at least happier.
"Satehl! Dammit. . ." She muttered the curse under her breath as she skirted his trail. He was quick he was. Real quick.
At the rate he was going, it didn't take Satehl long to push fully through the clearing. Slamming on the breaks he skidded to a skipping halt, half-tripping over his shoes and laces, eyes staring at the scene before home.
It was the base!
It had to be!
Wow -- it had gotten bigger and more evolved and .. . and. . . and EVERYTHING!
Oh wow . . Oh wowowowowowowowowowowwowowowowowow! Eyes burning with delight, he searched frantically for a sign of life and found . . .nothing.
Maybe they were out hunting Rade? Or hunting food in general? Or fishing? Or checking out the ruins? Or or or or or . . . His thoughts escaped him as he stared at the scene before him.
Maybe nobody was home? He tilted his head, and electric ZZZZZzzt breaking the silence of the area.
Oh well -- it didn't matter that nobody was here. Maybe they were inside? Maybe they were cooking? Whatever the case, they HAD to be living in the vacinity. They'd have to come back sometime and when they did HE'D be there . . . .
After all this time they were back.
Turning around, his eyes danced with laughter. Come on Uta! We're home we're home we're home we're home we're home! We finally MADE it. . . . Hurry up! It's the base AND it's not attacked or ruined or destroyed!
Satehl had to admit he'd thought about the chances of the bases survival. It was risky here -- but the base had survived. And now they were back to HELP keep it around!
The boy hesitated, taking a step forward before pausing. SHould he wait for Uta or barge right in? Skirting the edges of the forest, he waited. . .eyes only on the beautiful sight before him.

Peering up as the noise suddenly stopped, she blinked. Another Mask? One she didn't recall seeing....did she?
Standing up, she let her hand with the gun drop slightly, but did not holster it. Walking up to the fence, she kept her ears tuned to any additional noise.
"Hello." She greeted...pretty sure she had NOT seen this one before. "Are you hurt? Do you need help?"
Where was his guardian? He had to have one...didn't he?

What? A person? The boy blinked, studying this . . . new one. . . before instantly heading over. Who was this person? Someone new? Someone different? Someone who did something?
Wow -- Satehl couldn't help but wonder if this was how they all were. Did everybody change? Did they get more colonists? Was she a guardian? Did she have a masque? Oh, where was everybody ELSE!
It wasn't that Satehl wasn't happy to see this . . .person. . .he just REALLY wanted to see the people he remembered!
Uta was only a few moments behind her boy. She wasn't nearly as loud, naturally a bit more stealthy thanks to her upbringing and life. Predators WERE her life (for the most part) thus she knew how to walk like one when she needed too.
Satehl had yet to master that art.
Pushing her way through the last of the underbrush, Uta's violet eyes opened in surprise at the sight. Wow -- now this was quite the surprise. Though she was glad she was back (the entire base had grown!) she still couldn't help but stare.
It. . . . . had been a long time.
My how things had changed. . .
The woman hesitated only a minute before turning her eyes back on Satehl. He was making his way to a fence, and there was. . . a woman standing opposite, waiting.
Instinctively protective, she sprinted over, eyes harboring surprise, natural wariness, but delight all at once. "Don't mind him," she started, voice a bit dry from their days excursions, as well as the shock and surprise at actually FINDING their way back. "He's a bit excited to be back."
Uta was trying to remember if SHE remembered who this woman was. . .
It was a difficult task at best. "Um - - I . . I take it this is the original colony's base. . . right?"
Her typical polite formalities were forgotten. She was starting to worry and overthink. Could they have branched out and started new colonies? This LOOKED (kind of) like the base she'd last left. . .
Much more evolved, of course, but. . . This WAS home, was it not?

At the second approach, she had tensed up slightly, but relaxed at the question. Smiling she pushed the gate to the garden open. "You sound thirsty." she said. "I have some ice tea brewing in the kitchen."
Waiting for them to come through, she carefully latched the door closed.
"This is the colony. The only one so far as I know. Were you from the ship that landed? Excuse me...I don't remember either of you, so don't mind the wariness in greeting. My name is chaeval. Or chae if you prefer."
She waved them towards the house "Are you hungry? Do you need anything?"

chaeval She just clutched quietly on to Nika's hand. She felt foolishly inept and helpless all of a sudden. Not a feeling she cared for. Quietly trying to pull herself together despite her earlier words of faux wisdom, she continued to follow. Nika took a deep breath and held onto Shiva's hand as he followed her and Io to the chapel. He wasn't sure what to think anymore. Now that he knew what had happened; the reason they were trapped inside these masks... That was what he'd come here to learn. Wasn't it?

chaeval "This is the colony. The only one so far as I know. Were you from the ship that landed? Excuse me...I don't remember either of you, so don't mind the wariness in greeting. My name is chaeval. Or chae if you prefer." She waved them towards the house "Are you hungry? Do you need anything?" Uta relaxed visibly as Chae explained that this was indeed her original colony. Gods she'd been away for so long. How she'd searched and searched and searched. It felt as if a great weight had lifted from her shoulders. At least she'd given Satehl this much -- at least she'd brought him back. But the relief wasn't complete. The brown haired woman had yet to escape her own guilt. . . She'd been a fool . . . Following her gangly boy through the gate, her violet eyes drifted over the garden. Uta really hadn't meant to interrupt her gardening . . . But her hospitality was greatly appreciated! "Ice tea would be wonderful," her sincerity was genuine, eyes lighting with thanks. "It's been a . . . very long journy." Now THAT was the understatement of the century! Satehl ignored his guardian and the woman momentarily, curiousity surging through his very being. This was a big garden -- or at least bigger than any of the ones that had been planeted when HE was first here!
What was that thing? He poked at the soil, ready to jerk his hand back in case the flower bit. He'd run into some plants that ate human flesh and unwary beings. . .There were probably flowers like that here, within these woods, but Satehl wanted to tell Ash and Fauve all about it!
He bet the girls would get a kick out of it! Ashy would probably even want one. . Or Io. Io was sharp and cool and all . . .rawry too! Of course they'd want flesh-eating, blood-drinking flowers! He wished he could've brought them back trinkets from his journey. At least the cool stuff like that. . .
But Uta hadn't let him. She was never any fun really. . . .
Uta offered a weary smile at her host. "I don't mean to intrude or be rude myself -- I'm just. . . . frazzled. Completely and utterly frazzled." Shaking her head, she followed Chae torwards the house, pulling her eyes away only to locate her wild-child. "I was indeed part of the original group. I'm Uta, and this boy here," she'd reached where Satehl had been poking about and tugged him over. "Is Satehl." Satehl, pulled out of his reverie and excitement by his guardian, finally took another look at Chae. He smiled behind his mask, his own violet eyes gleaming with genuine delight and appreciativeness by her offer.
Tilting his head, he waved amicably, before his attention was pulled away from them both. Glancing around, he tried hard to hear the sounds of life anywhere else in the vacinity. Where is everyone? he asked wistfully, glancing up at Uta curiously. Tugging on his guardians clothes, he nagged. Ask her ask her ask her. . . . . pleeeease? he leaned against his guardian (almost as big as she!) and threw on the longing charm. He wanted to know -- he really really really did.
Frazzled. Uta would hate to admit it, but sometimes Satehl was part of that frazzlement. She'd almost forgotten how much of a handful he COULD be -- especially when curious and "out of the loop". Satehl wasn't particularly snoopy, or gossipy. He just liked to know! Trying to juggle the relief of being home, the thirst and hunger that rolled through her stomach (Satehl had hardly wanted to take time to eat more than a few bits of space-food and compressed carboyhydrates), as well as Satehl's eagerness to find all his friends, she threw Chae a bit of a helpless, apollogetic look. "Would it- - would it be too much of a problem if we just sat down for a few minutes? I'd be eternally grateful." She smiled shyly at the woman. Veyr untypical of her. Uta was the one who wore the claws and snarled. Uta was the one who was tough and wary, not shy. Just safe and overly protective and untrusting. It was how half of the original colony was. But not today. Today she was too exhausted to even put up her own defenses. She just wanted . . .a break. From emotions and anxiety and anger and guilt and hurt. She just wanted. . . a few minutes . .to recompose and figure out what they were goin to do now that they HAD actually found everyone. Finding Masquerade had been cloes to impossible a task. Uta had never taken time to decide what they were going to do had they actually accomplished the mission.
What? Sit down!?? Now? They couldn't do that! They'd just ARRIVED! There was so much to do and soooo many people to see. Where was everybody? He just HAD to know else he'd go out LOOKING for them.
How could his guardian want to sit down at a time like this! REALLY! Shouldn't she be excited? Didn't she want to know what was going on? Where all their old friends and familiar faces were? Where was Ice and Io? Where was Kali and Galilee?? What about Scagg and those . . .hat. . . things. . . that hopped around?
Rolling his eyes, he gave the impression of heaving a sigh and dutifully took up the caboose, following Uta grudgingly.
They didn't have time for drinks and small talk! It was time to GOOOOO!

Io entered the chapel cautiously, keeping a lookout for anything willing to attack them, as well as things that were about to fall. She relaxed slightly as nothing happened, but stayed on guard.
"The wedding was--" She jerked as birds flapped wildly to take to the air at the sound of her voice. "To be here." She finished, looking around at the vine covered inner building. The walls were falling down, the ceiling almost completely gone.
