Sam pursed her lips as Lucy's words sank into her demon brain, "I don't use it often because I've lived with my human mother up until now." Closing her eyes, she concentrated on channelling her human side back to reign control of her body. Glancing down at her naked form, Sam proceeded to pick up the clothes she had earlier discarded. "So where's my class placement?" inquired Sam. She looked around at the mountainous landscape surrounding her.

Lucy paused.
"I'd place you in a middle-low tier. Just take some fire control classes, and you should get to middle tier. You have great potential, you just need to harness it by a lot more."
She opened a portal for Sam to follow through.
"That is all of today's class until there are other students. I need to evade a suitor, and have my dead child's soul separated from my body..."
With a large flash of light, Lucy was back to normal.
"Also, don't feel offended by the middle-tier ranking. The only student of mine that reached high-high tier was my four generations down child Moé-- the Time Control Teacher-- and she excelled due to her marksmanship and weapon control, not hand-to-hand. The only one who rivals me in combat..."
She walked through the portal.
"...is the suitor, the father of my three children."

Caleb stopped walking. "Please, I need time to sort my thoughts at the moment." He was not far from the tree and the birdman.

Sam felt a little deflated to be placed in a low-tier despite Lucy's consolations. Given a week, Sam hoped she could improve into a higher ranked class. Following Lucy through the portal that lead back to the school, Sam nearly gawked at Lucy's story about her suitor and her children. It was quite unusual, but then again, she hadn't out much to deem what was and wasn't unusual. She, for one, was unusual to the human eye - at least in her demon form.
"That's some story." Sam finally admitted to Lucy, shaking her hand before scurrying off to her next class - fire control. Feeling a ring of warmth, Sam looked down at her now-glowing hands. Perhaps she needed to learn more control than she thought. This school got her way too giddy and emotional.

She left into a regular portal.

((MvC 2 was better IMO, Playing as Jill just kicked up it's awesome factor. Man, this makes me want to go play some M.U.G.E.N.))
Caleb sighed. He had to escape her, he turn back around and headed for the school building, hopefully being able to rest, even for the smallest amount of time, would prove to be worth it.

Moé, meanwhile, had volunteered part-time at various other places [but only for that day], and, using time traveling, managed to displace only a couple of minutes, and recieve about a thousand dollars.
"I never knew jobs were so plentiful here!!"

Caleb slid the old brass key into the keyhole and turned it, the faint click came from the door and he opened the door with his pale white hand. Closing the door and going to his desk, sitting down as he put a hand on his pale mask.

Lucy was looking around in desperation for a hiding place, tripping herself at every corner, and eventually falling on the ground.
"N-No..."
She tiredly ran past a couple of classrooms, and since all of them seemed locked, she hid behind a pamphlet table next to the alchemy room.

Taro was reluctant to move or speak until Caleb was out of sight, not even to catch a better view of Moé during their brief interlude. After several minutes, the injured tengu picked up the potion, examining its contents warily.
"White? Ack, thats bad luck!" he muttered, unwilling to drink any medicine the color of death.
A moment of more bleeding persuaded the bird creature to take a chance. Taking hold of the vile between his feet, the bird-man plunged a talon of his uninjured arm into the cork stopper. It took a few awkward minutes of jiggling until he could pull it free, but the tengu waisted no time to gulp down the bitter concoction.
Taro gagged as the liquid left a burning sensation that quickly spread around his feathered body; It seemed to focus on his wounded shoulder. Panicked and in pain, the he responded with a tengu's instinct and chugged down a bottle of sake he had been wearing on a sash. The refreshing alcohol numbed everything as it went down his throat.

Taro peeked his eyes open to examine his shoulder, apprehensions of what he would find. Certainly it was not the lightly tanned skin that was there, or the definite molting of his beautiful iridescent black feathers that revealed even more of the comparably paler flesh. His talons retracted in a painful looking process, becoming similar to a humans.
"Eww...." he whined, shocked to feel the first sensation returning to his body. His mouth was soft, his smooth beak had been altered into chapped lips. His eyes began to weaken, allowing the distance to blur...
Even with his eyesight degrading, Taro could see he was becoming a total human. Oddly, this thought did not scare him.
That he couldn't seem to stop it did.
Looking at the empty potion bottle, Taro cursed the man responsible, totally ignorant of the equally empty sake gourd visible though the glass surface.

Caleb began to fade in and out of the state of consciousness. Even the noise of someone banging into the wall outside of his classroom did not disturb him. His bird-like mask pointed up as he looked to the ceiling, content, that he was now in peace and could finally let his mind work silently.

Lucy simply waited by the table, hoping to elude him, and to rest at any cost.
'He won't win this time', she thought.

Moé, who had decided that Caleb and the tengu had made amends, came to the courtyard with a forgiveness gift of sake.
"Mister Tengu?"
She looked around, and then saw Taro.
"Excuse me, but did you see a tengu around here? I came to make amends for how I acted. Tengu love sake, right?"
