Kasiya watched the Ariados carefully, easily getting the impression that the arachnid didn't want her to get too close. Not wanting to threaten her 'territory' Kasiya kept her distance. She'd never seen an Ariados up close like that before, and she was rather intrigued by the markings on its body. Shocker eyed the spider warily from her perch on Kasiya's shoulder and shivered a bit - she wasn't overly fond of Bug Pokemon in general so there would be no way she'd get up close and personal with it - if she could avoid it, at least.

"You don't need a reason to help people," Kasiya replied, looping her thumbs under her belt as she walked. "Besides that I couldn't just stand around and watch those guys gang up on you. It's wrong." Shocker gave her a playful tap on the head with her tail and Kasiya realized just how much Mike's sense of justice had rubbed off on her. Not that she wasn't like that before, he had just helped her to realize that there was more to being a good citizen than just standing by and abiding by the laws. Her senses were greeted by the aroma of something delicious in the air, and when she saw the shack she smiled. This had been where she'd left her stuff before she went out to traipse around the beach. "Mmm, can't say I have," she answered after a thoughtful moment, nearly missing the part about Crenu acquiring a new debt - mostly because she didn't think he owed her anything but his thanks, which he had already given. "What is it?"

She couldn't help but smile broadly as the little girl and her Tauros were reunited - they certainly made an adorable pair. There was just something about seeing people happy like this that just made everything she did just a little more worthwhile.
=-=-=-=-=

After adjusting his belt a little Jaeshan decided to just walk for now, not really wanting to hang out at the beach anymore. As much as he tried, he couldn't shake the bit of gloom and doom that was still clinging to him after everything that had happened with Keegan. I don't see what he's complaining about, he thought, closing his eyes. If Butterfree hadn't put Artemis to sleep there's no way we could have won that one. He's a far better trainer than he gives himself credit for... he's just got to stop being so hard on himself.

Jaeshan found himself heading north, back towards Slateport. The memory of last night's antics with Luffy and the other Pokemon were still fresh in his mind and he smiled at the thought of the little Aipom dancing up on the lamp post triumphantly. As he reentered the city, it felt like a ghost town in comparison to the multitude of people at the beach, and Jaeshan was glad for the sudden solace. Before long he'd made it back to the same row of stalls they'd been at before, and his eyes lit up as he remembered that he promised to buy a few TM's for Beldum once he evolved, and evolved did he! Humming lightly to himself Jaeshan began to sort through the rows of gleaming discs, PokeDex in hand to help him identify which moves Metang could actually use.

Deciding that Luffy needed a healing Robin made her way to the pokemon center Luffy in tow. It was kinda busy but Robin had sometime to kill so she didn't mind. Getting in the line that for one to three pokemon. At her feet Luffy pranced around happily, there were so many cool pokemon for him to look at. As they slowly got closer to the front Robin sighed slightly, she had hoped to make some friends here. She had kinda but still it felt like a lot of people all ready knew a lot of other people. Finally reaching the front Robin groaned as she bent down and picked Luffy up and put him on the table. "Hello Nurse Joy, would you please heal Luffy up for me?"

"Of course I can, you may want to not let him eat so much." She commented as she picked him up.

Blushing in embarrassment Robin muttered. "Yeah he needs to work it off some." Maybe another battle would be good, a longer one then just fending off that Tentacool. She was pretty sure she could find someone who was around her expertise. Maybe some of her other pokemon could battle some, they could use some experience, especially Brook.

"Here you go." Nurse Joy just smiled as she put Luffy back onto the table.

"Thank you very much, I might be back soon." Robin smiled as she took Luffy's tail hand and they left the pokemon center in order to look for another battle. Looking around Robin decided to stay away from the beach a little, it was to crowded there, maybe there was someone in town?

Aidan watched his pokemon start to run around the lawn along with Officer Jenny's Growlith. Skorupi was in lead but just barely, the bug poison type pokemon was the first pokemon he had ever received. He still felt like he didn't deserve him, still the town had told him to take him in order to take care of himself. His body still ached just from remembering the day that had caused the town to give him Skorupi for his own protection. Pushing that to the side he turned his attention to his other pokemon, he had caught her about a month ago and it had been very hard but he was still proud of her. The small Gible was behind the others by a fair bit but she seemed unconcerned by this. She had spirit he would give her that, Aidan was sure he could trainer her to be the powerful pokemon he knew she had the ability of becoming. Though it was unlike him Aidan couldn't help the small smile that pulled at his mouth at the sight of his pokemon working so hard. All to soon for him Officer Jenny whistled for them to stop running and to come back.

"All right good job you guys, I think that's enough for right now. After lunch we will practice your attacks and we will have another run after dinner to finish up the day." All of the pokemon just nodded before they were recalled into there pokeballs. Turning to Aidan, Officer Jenny gave him a smile. "You have done a great job with your pokemon so far. I know you are not as into pokemon training as most trainers but you do have a talent for it." She laughed slightly before continuing. "You seem to have a talent for everything you touch."

Aidan gave her a look for a second before looking away embarrassed, he did not deserve praise like that, he was only doing what he had to in order to protect the kids and the town that had helped him so much. "It isn't anything to be proud of. I am doing what is best for the kids and the town. Anyone could do what I do if they applied themselves." It was true, Aidan was really only good at the things he did because he applied his whole self to them.

"Don't sell yourself short now Aidan, not everyone could, or would do all the things that you have done." Officer Jenny commented back as she opened the side gate that would lead them out to the main streets of Solaceon town.

Aidan didn't say anything as he stepped out of them and waited for the Officer to lock them and the building up. He would never get used to people praising what he did, he wasn't someone special and he was only doing what any good person who was able should do. Standing there in silence he looked out into the small but bustling town and couldn't help but wonder what he could do to help rid them of there pest problem that was partially his fault.

"Well lets get going then Aidan, we won't be able to catch them just by standing here and talking." Officer Jenny said as she appeared at his side again.

Keegan folded his arms and sighed at the reply, realizing he deserved it. He watched the woman looking over Sneasel, raising an eyebrow as she gave her opinion. "Well if you've got a lot of training then why don't you just get a degree or certified or whatever?" he asked, nodding towards her. "It's not like it'd be a boring career or anything." Helios hopped down from his trainers arms onto the floor, flicking his tails in annoyance. He barked sharply at Keegan before turning and trotting away, hopping up into an empty beanbag chair and lying down in it. "Uh... Helios?" Keegan asked, scratching his head curiously. Helios put his head on his paws and sighed, ears and tail each drooping sadly. "Would you ladies... excuse me for a moment?" he asked, shrugging a bit sheepishly before going after the Vulpix.

The fox didn't look up as Keegan approached, only did his best to avoid making eye contact. "What's up, pal?" the redhead asked, kneeling down in front of him. Keegan knew it was a dumb question though, as it was safe to say that they both were feeling inferior at this point. He didn't know what to do or say; they could keep on training and working but would it really help? Grunting a bit Keegan stood up and looked around. There were a few PC's in the corner, none of which were currently being used. "Wait here," he told the Vulpix before he made his way over to one of the machines and sat down in front of it. "Here goes nothing..." he murmured as he typed in his personal information to log in.

Riza eyed the vial of medicine for a moment, but nodded. "Well you would know better than me," she admitted sadly, her head drooping a bit and causing some of the stray hair to tumble down into her face. She slowly walked over to the stretcher and rested her hand on Sneasel's forehead. "You get some rest, okay Sneasel? We'll catch ourselves some new friends soon." She looked back up at the woman once more, letting her know she could take Sneasel to the treatment room before looking around for Keegan. He'd gone over to one of the computers in the corner and seemed to be busy, his little Vulpix waiting patiently nearby. Riza picked up her backpack and made her way over, sitting down near the little fox. It was a very adorable Pokemon and it was taking every ounce of self control she had to not snatch him up in her arms and give him a great big cuddle.

The woman had been right about the getting cleaned up part, though. The seaweed had long since dried yet it still stuck to her, and she groaned loudly with disgust as she peeled each piece from her skin. "Ugh, gross!" Her skin felt like it was crawling and she stood up almost as fast as she had sat down. Then again, her skirt and bathing suit were filthy and she had nothing clean to change into while these things were being cleaned. "Now what am I going to do?" she asked herself, shaking her head.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 23, 2008 6:47 pm

Helios opened one eye and watched the tall girl sit down, following her every movements quite closely. At first he didn't like the way she was staring at him, but after a moment or two he figured she was probably harmless. He wrinkled his nose a bit when he caught some of her scent, as she smelled like sea water and muck. However, she didn't seem to be enjoying the fact that she was filthy and this amused him. He would have gone crazy with all that mud and green stuff sticking to his soft fur.

Keegan's time spent at the PC was rather short as his task was very simple and quickly done. He stood up from the chair and turned back towards his Pokemon before he remembered that he'd forgotten to log out. Again. Now, being fully finished at the PC he approached Helios and Riza, smirking a bit at her appearance. She didn't seem like the type of girl to not care about how she looked, but at the same time, she didn't look that terrible to him either. "You know, it's not that bad," he said, sitting down in the seat opposite Helios. "But if you want to go get cleaned up I can keep an eye on your stuff, if you want."

Riza scoffed at the red haired boy and shook her head. "Yeah right! I look like something the Meowth dragged in." She smiled a bit and looked at the floor. "That's nice of you, but I don't have any clean clothes to change in to," she admitted sheepishly. "If I could get a towel or a robe or something, then I could get this stuff washed while I take a shower," she explained, gesturing to her filthy skirt and bikini top. "That's pretty dumb isn't it? Not thinking to bring extra clothes." Riza shook her head and laughed at her own mishap. Well, she did have her nightgown, but it wasn't exactly appropriate to be wearing around the Pokemon center.

Kasiya's comment made Crenu think, he didn't see the point in helping out unless it was part of a debt or if there was something to gain from it. He assumed that she just saw an oportunity to strengthen her own pokemon, but this did not appear to be the case. Though it seemed irrational to him, her apparent sence of justice intrigued Crenu and actually put a half smile on his face for the moment. "Basically it's a fried Octillery dumping." As they neared the shack the old man, who was really more middle aged, approched them with an ear to ear grin.

"AH HA HA! I knew you'd come though. The way you just walked out saying you'd take care of it, that kinda confidence can only get results! But seriously, thank you." Still grinning, the old man patted Crenu's shoulder rather forcefully.

"Don't thank me old man, just paying off breakfast. And they're the one who scared them straight anyway." He said nodding over to Kasiya and her Raichu. "Which reminds me, you got that second helping ready?" Crenu said jokingly, but half serious as well. If Kasiya didn't want it, he sure wasn't gonna pass up on a meal.

"Second helping? You and your friend can eat here whenever you want for free. Me and my little girl owe you that and a lot more." He continued to smile, though now a bit less exaggeratedly, ashe went inside and made his way into the kitchen.

"Well, everyone screws up now and then," Keegan replied with a shrug. "But I've found it's best to just laugh it off. And if that doesn't work, laugh at someone who's screwed up more than you have. If anything it makes you feel better about your own errors." Helios' ears twitched at his trainers words and he raised his head to see if it was actually Keegan who was speaking. Since when did he give advice to others? Normally Keegan would be laughing at Riza's lack of foresight with her clothing situation.

"The Pokemon Center does have robes handy," he said, nodding towards the direction of the bathrooms. "If you want, I'll get your stuff in the wash for you while you shower up." Now Keegan was surprising even himself - he normally wouldn't offer to do that sort of thing for his friends, let along a girl he only met a few hours ago.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 23, 2008 8:12 pm

Riza simply nodded at this advice, and smiled. It was not unlike something Jaden would have said. He once told her that worrying about the past was a stupid and wasteful thing to do. She'd messed up and now she had to correct it. Right now the only logical thing had been what Keegan suggested, and she nodded again. "That's a good idea, let's do that then," she said, standing up and handing her bag to Keegan. She had no clue how long it would be until Sneasel was fully recovered, but she had an idea that it wouldn't take that long for her and her clothes to get washed.

She gave a sort of half-smile and turned to head in the direction of the change rooms. Maybe after this was all sorted out she could get him to give her some guidance on capturing Pokemon. She looked over her shoulder to see if he was following her as she stepped into the girl's side. She snatched a gray towel from the stack of clean ones and looked around at the stalls. They were all occupied, but Riza simply shrugged. Modesty was for those who weren't proud of their bodies. Tossing the towel on a bench nearby she let down the rest of her black hair and kicked off her sandals. Then she stripped down out of her skirt and bathing suit, haphazardly wrapping the towel around herself as she kicked the clothes up into a little pile before picking them up. Without a hint of reserve or embarrassment she then sauntered back out into the hallway.

Helios looked up at his trainer and the girl, a little reluctant to leave his comfy spot on the beanbag chair. "Fine, stay there if you want to," Keegan told him, dropping both his and Riza's bags nearby. "But that means you're on guard duty." Helios inclined his head and shrugged, stretching out on the chair. Fine by him, although he decided then and there that it wasn't his fault if somebody got torched in the process.

Keegan followed after Riza, making a mental note of the laundry facilities and that they were currently not in use. This was a good thing, because he didn't know how long he felt like sticking around here. Riza stepped through the doorway to the change rooms and he sighed, closing his eyes as he leaned up against the nearby wall. The last thing he'd planned to do today was wash some girl's laundry.

When the change room door swung open, he opened his eyes, gasping a bit in surprise at what he saw. "Eh, Riza, hi," he stammered, completely taken aback by the sight of her standing there, wearing nothing but a towel and a smile. Despite his common sense's protests, he couldn't tear his gaze away as he took in every inch of her figure. Finally realizing what he was doing, he slapped a hand over his eyes and pivoted on a heel, nearly slamming face-first into the wall in the process. "I wasn't.... I mean... leave your clothes here... or something..." Nothing he could think of to say made any sense, or was appropriate for that matter. Instead of talking he just waved his hand around, signaling for her to just leave her stuff there for now.

Heading out into the town Robin and Luffy looked around trying to see if there was anyone to battle, really the streets were quite empty. Sighing she walked around Luffy in tow, at least he was getting some exercise like this. At her side Luffy was getting somewhat bored, Robin was holding his tail so he couldn't run off and find some fun by himself. There were a lot of people back there at the beach why couldn't they go back there? Just when Robin was about to give up and head back to the beach to see if she could find a battle there or something she heard something behind her. Turning her head sharply she glanced back and frowned slightly when she saw something strange. "The hell." She muttered.

It was a man and a pokemon, well Robin assumed there was a pokemon and a man. They were both in some sort of strange stance and shuffling towards them. "Erm... Is there anything I can do for you?" She asked hesitantly. The two of them just shuffled closer before the larger one was right in front of her.

"Would you like to battle?" It said looking up at her with two large eyes.

Blinking a few times Robin couldn't help but stare. "Um, sure." She managed to bite out. Ok she really needed to know what type of pokemon that was. Not taking her eyes off of him as he shuffled away Robin shuffled through her bag until she pulled out her pokedex. Flipping it open she scanned the pokemon that was with him. It turned out that it was a psychic type called Mr. Mime. Knowing that Raz would have a type advantage here she considered sending him out instead for a second. Then shrugging, Luffy needed to loose that weight. "Does two pokemon sound ok to you?" Robin asked. Letting go of Luffy's tail she kicked him forward slightly

The Mr. Mime man thought about it before nodding in agreement. "That sounds fine to me. Go forward Mr. Mime!" He called out making a dramatic pointing gesture. The psychic pokemon shuffled forward and onto the impromptu field.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nodding in agreement with Officer Jenny Aidan followed her into the town his longer legs carrying him farther then her shorter ones. For some reason something felt wrong to Aidan, he had no idea what it was but for some reason something felt off and it was bugging him. As he tried to figure it out Aidan almost ran into the large frame of pokemon breeder John. He quickly sidestepped out of the way Aidan stopped to his side slightly embarrassed that he hadn't noticed. "Apologies for almost hitting you John."
The older man just gave a small smile at Aidan, he had been one of the people who had tried to adopt him when he was younger and had a soft spot for the young man. "No problem Aidan, in fact you are just the one I was looking for."
Raising a blond eyebrow Aidan stared at the man for a second, he had no idea what he could do for this man but he was willing to listen. "Well glad that you found me, what is it that I can do for you?"
"Well you see a group of Bidoof have wondered into my ranch and they are cutting down all my trees. I was wondering if you or Officer Jenny could help me out."
Behind Aidan Officer Jenny couldn't help but smile slightly, when she had first arrived in the town she was amazed by the kindness the town had showed by putting up with the orphans. When she had meet Aidan she had immediately understood why they seemed to like them so much. The boy did his best to make sure that they helped the town so not to put a burden on them. In fact she thought it was the exact opposite, they had made the town a better place with there presence. "Go ahead Aidan, I will give John a call if I find anything."
Looking at Officer Jenny with bright crystal blue eyes Aidan stared at her for a moment. He wasn't sure what to think, but the people of the town needed help and that's what came first. Turning back to pokemon breeder John Aidan nodded. "I would be happy to help you out with your problem."
"Glad to hear that my boy!"
Kasiya frowned a bit, as she really didn't like dumplings in general so chances were good that she wouldn't like Octillery dumplings. "Maybe I'll just have some Ramen," she murmured idly, reaching up to scratch Shocker behind the ear. The Raichu lavished in the affection, wrapping her tail around her trainer's shoulders in reply. "Oh, do you think my Pokemon would be able to have something to eat as well?" she asked a bit sheepishly. "I'd be willing to pay for them," she added.
"Chu," Shocker nodded, feeling her own tummy start to rumble. She really didn't care what she ate, just as long as it was yummy and satisfying.
=-=-=-=-=
It didn't take long for Jaeshan to decide on a TM, and now, holding it in his hands he wandered over to pay for it. He could see the lady who was running the stall from last night, but she wasn't paying attention to him. She was talking to another woman who seemed to be working the potion stall next to this one. They seemed to be laughing about something. At first this didn't bother him all that much, as he really had nothing pressing to do, but when she showed no intentions of serving him any time soon, but when he cleared his throat loudly she wandered over to him. "I'd like to pay for this," he said, handing the brown-coloured disc to her.
"Fine by me. That'll be $3000," she said, a strange quirk in her eyebrow as she spoke.
Jaeshan blinked and shook his head. "I bought one of these last night," he told her, shaking his head. "It was only $2000 then." He frowned a bit, hoping that he hadn't underpaid for the TM last night. It only took a moment to realize what was going on when she spoke again.
"So you're right, my bad," she shrugged as Jaeshan handed her the proper amount of money. "Guess you can't swindle 'em all," she murmured under her breath.
"I beg your pardon?" Jaeshan asked, putting away the disc and his change. "You tried to swindle me?"
The woman shrugged - no sense in getting uppity now. "You do what you have to to keep out of the red," she replied humbly. "There's not exactly a fortune to be made in selling all this stuff."
Jaeshan frowned and folded his arms, waiting for her to continue. "Get any extra cash out of anyone recently?" he asked, obviously perturbed now. While he knew that folks had to make a living somehow, he knew there were other ways to do it. After all, he was doing all right for himself as a Pokemon trainer. He took a step forward, waiting for the woman to answer.
=-=-=-=-=
She only smiled at the redhead's question. She knew it wouldn't take much to get that certificate, but it wasn't her true calling in life. Patting the Pokemon's head gently, she turned back to Riza. "When you see Sneasel again, she'll be all rested up and ready for anything," she said with a bright smile. With the assistance of one of the nurses they wheeled the stretcher out of the lobby. I'd forgotten what it was like... to be a young trainer just starting out, she thought. Once they were set up, she handed the vial of medicine over and stood back to let the nurse do her job.
She waved a casual hand at the two kids before she finally left the Pokemon Center, unable to help but wonder what they would be like with a little more experience under their belts.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 24, 2008 3:26 pm
Riza blinked a few times, not having been expecting Keegan to react like that. Most guys either averted their eyes or stared openly, it didn't bother her one bit. She smirked at him and tossed her things on the floor by his feet. "What's wrong Keegan, don't you like what you see? Or do ya like it too much?" With a chuckle she turned around and went back inside the change room, glad to be getting the remaining grime and salt from the seawater off of her.
Once she stepped into the shower she adjusted the water to near-scalding and sighed happily as the hot water cascaded down onto her head. Just like that all her stress and anxiety over her first week as a Pokemon trainer melted away. 'Don't worry, Sneasel. We'll get this right,' she thought as she applied a glob of nice-smelling shampoo to her hair. 'Keegan's right, there's no use fretting over what we've done wrong. Little steps, little steps.'
It wasn't as if Whitney had forgotten the reason she departed from Nina-- Anna's safety was indeed her first priority-- but she couldn't help being distracted by the beautiful port city. She walked around the area, almost awestruck in the simple beauty of the land. There were shops abound on the western side of the city, a Pokemon Mart to the slight north of those shops, and some sort of battle tent even further to the north of that. On the eastern side, there was a magnificent ship called the S.S. Tidal in port-- it was vastly large, even for a ship. The girl wandered up to it and it towered over her with an almost intimidating presence. Looking directly at it, though, she noticed it was immaculately polished-- she could see a crystal-clear reflection of herself in it. A smile found its way on her lips-- a rare sight due to recent events-- and she turned and wandered southward. She would pass an Oceanic Museum, a Pokemon fan club, and a shipyard along the way, as well as a small lighthouse. It was nothing compared to the one in Olivine City, however.
And south of the lighthouse was the most astonishingly beautiful beach that Whitney had stepped foot on, overlooking the beautiful sea. Dotted with large umbrellas, lawn chairs, beach balls, volleyball nets, people spread out in lawnchairs... It was just amazing. Taking off her shoes and walking around, the soft, warm sand felt like feathers on her feet. She was sweating just slightly, and regretting not having a bathing suit. Finding a vacant lawn chair, she lay in it, relaxing a bit and trying to figure out just how the hell she was expecting to get Anna back. She had absolutely nothing to go on. She wasn't psychic like Nina-- she couldn't pick up on auras and things like her sister could. It's not like I can just go around and ask people, 'Hey! There's a psychopathic, age-old Pokemon tyrant who's stole a Pokemon and is trying to kill my sister. Can you help me find him?' she thought to herself. And, what, can I just comission some psychic detective or something to, like, read my mind and track Maorde down? The chance of that happening is like, absolutely zero... Dammit. Why did I do this? What if I let the poor girl down? She doesn't need any more of this crap to go through...
A soft laugh escaped her lips. I need Nina right now. I really do. I need her to help me with something that I told her I'd do for her. How messed up is that? Whitney still had her headphones around her neck, and as that thought crossed her mind, she heard a lyric from the song that was currently playing-- I need you, like water, like breath, like rain. "Of course," she mumbled, her eyes opening. "I'll figure this out. I have to, for both her sake, and my own. I'll, like... be able to do this, I know I will. It'll be hard, but like, what's success without hard work? It's impossible."
