Rosie perked up as the breeze became stronger. Another leaf had broken loose of the trees mighty grasp. It drifted down to earth in a crazy rocking pattern. Rosie was quick to her knees. She cupped her hands and rocked with it's falling pattern. As it got closer the breeze picked up once more shoving the leaf in Rosies direction. It brushed past her face quickly, but before it had a chance to leave from reach the girl grasped it in her mouth. She held it gingerly between her teeth, the way you would an egg to make sure it's sheel didn't crack. she plcuked it from her teeth smiling and sending it on its way with one of her own breaths. If only someone could be here to see her progress.

Rosies hand streched out into the air clenching onto a leaf the had fallowed the pattern of the one left by the previous. Her eyes didn't look at it, but at the same time she examed it. She had destroyed it's form on accident, the veins that ran through it had torn. A gash tore through most of it's body. Most likely caused by her finger nails closing in on it. It was a shame, such a pretty little leaf that it was. In some ways it reminded her of herself. Such a mysterious thing of nature. Broken from it's former glory, basic operations torn and destroyed. She let go of the leaf, but unlike the other it didn't fly away on the breeze, it simply fell to the ground.

Rosie smiled as she lay back down on the cool grass. Her mind was else where, and she missed the next leaf that feel out of the tree. Well less that she missed it, and more that she never sensed it comming. That was the complicated thing about rosies gift, it was under developed, much like a second brain. It's frontal lobe was still growing, and her understanding of her instincts was changin daily. She semnsed more around her hands then she previously had, and speech was becoming less of an issue for her. True she would still grasp inches to feet away from where she was aiming, and true her speech still sounded like that of child three or more years younger then herself. But for self teaching herself how to speak, she was doing pretty well.
A leaf landed on rosies nose shocking her back into exsistance. this was no time for lolly gaging. She was already miles behind fellow students.

Kimiko took the hand that didn't possess the flag gripping his hand firmly "Yeah! We're in it together! For sure!"
Xen was looking a little surprised. 'A pact huh?' He gave small grin. He'd already decided he wouldn't betray them...a pact that he'd fight for them... hmph, it was so unlike him...but what the hell. "I see...a pact it is then. However..." he pushed up his glasses "keep in mind I'm whimsical... who's to say if I'll keep such a pact or not." he shrugged with a care free air. "Any way, we should keep looking for the last flag..."
Kimiko rolled her her eyes. "Oh whatever Maboroshi, you just don't wanna be apart of our happy moment." She looked at Raine and winked at him. "He's just a being a a stick in the mud Raine, don't pay any attention to him. He'll come through for us when it counts, I know from experience."
Xenon cast his gaze about "I've no idea what you could mean... helping you in that situation helped me, that was all."
"But before we weren't team mates, and if I got caught you'd look better...how would helping m-"
"It's a very complicated matter." Xenon said hastily changing the subject "Now we really should be looking for that final flag..."
But as he tried to look Kimiko stuck her head in the way, having released Raine's hand. "Oh no Maboroshi your not getting out that so easy! You have to admit that you helped me on my first mission even though you didn't have anything to gain!"
"Momoe-san I really don't think this is the-" And the two got into a small bickering yet again, Xen maintaining his calm the entire time while Kimiko proceeded to prod him with teasing attitude, confident in her assessment.

Rosie stood up once more. Balancing herself on the trunk of the tree. Rosie took a step forwards, feeling the grass she had just been laying on with her feet. It was warm from her own body, and the blaes fell in on themselfs, leaving almost an imprint of where she had once been. Did she know this for certain. But she had the feeling it would look as if a small girl had pressed her figgure into the gorund. It was almost a shame to disrupt it with her feet. but she had to make sure she was in possition for the falling leafs.
Speak of the devil. rosie felt a leaf fluttering down towards her. she waited and watched as it grew nearer and nearer. She taped her fingers against her thumb strumming them quickly as she waited for the right time to strike. Breath Rosie. Now just do what you did before reach out. And pluck it from the air. Rosie stieded herself... It took only a moment for the leaf to fall into reaching position, and Rosie was quick to act. Taking it switly out of the air.

Raine giggled at their bickering surprised that Xen had agreed on such a pact, but still happy that his will had succeeded. "Come on let's get that last flag, I wanna show you guys something when we are done." He pushed between both of them, breaking the two apart and pushing through some bushes looking around for the flag, Xen would probably have more luck with his walking up trees thing but Raine wanted to try an help, there was only one flag left and he and Xen had already beat 2 traps each which left one for Kimiko. The least he could do was fine the flag.

Xenon then looked a little surprised "Hm?" Kimiko was still insisting her case but then he adjusted his glasses and gentely pushed her head to the side, glancing around side it.
"So why don't you just-...what are you doing?" She looked suddenly a little confused by him prodding her head.
"I believe I found the last flag." Xenon pointed over her shoulder, effectively ending the conversation and causing her to turn around to look where he was pointing.
Kimiko tilted her head at first, not seeing what he was referring to. It seemed like he was pointing to a leaf not far from them....but... suddenly as she squinted she saw what he meant. The green tuft that was protruding from the trunk of a tree. "Whoa!" Kimiko exclaimed walking forward and looking at the tree in amazement "Maboroshi! You right! This is your flag! Oh wow it's like it's fused into the tree. How are going to get it out?"
Xenon walked forward and squinted at it "Well... assuming this isn't an illusion of some kind..." he put his hands together, chakra flowing through him. "Kai!" The world around him remained normal, the flag still fused into the tree. "Which it doesn't seem to be..." He walked around the tree... "Hm...Well I suppose one of you could try breaking the tree with your fists...but it might be better if you simply cut the tree threw with you sword Momoe-san..."
Kimiko reached up behind her, grabbing the hilt of her katana "Hm? Oh okay, sure."
"Just try not to damage the last flag in the process."
Kimiko nodded, withdrawing her blade slowly from it's sheathe "No problem, I'll cut just above it." She took a stance, suddenly becoming more serious. She took a long slow breath...preparing herself.

Kimiko seemed to become an entirely different person all of sudden. Her gaze was serious, her expression...
Xenon raised an eyebrow. She looked exactly like Sanako. He supposed that made sense... after all Kimiko's mother was teaching her, but as with everything Kimiko seemed to take emulating her teacher too far, even adapting her mother's mannerism. He put his hands in the pockets of his coat with some measure of interest. He hadn't yet had the chance to see her use her sword... that night in the grave yard when he'd watched her dispatch those three Genin, she'd been using Taijutsu... he was eager to see what she could do...
Kimiko's closed her eyes for a moment, her face unconsciously copying her mother's...then...her eyes snapped open and her blade flickered forth, a mere whistle through the air. With a swift and resolved finality her blade was re-sheathed behind her back with a loud click, and the trunk of the tree slid to the side with a crash, the green flag now resting untouched on then resulting stump. She suddenly seemed to slip back to her usual self, picking the flag up with good cheer. "Okay! So, who do I give this too?"
Xenon however looked like he could barely contain his slightly disturbing smile. 'Excellent...' the creepy smile was gone almost at once, and he was calm yet again. "Well executed Momoe-san, I would expect nothing less. And you will give it to me...but hold on a moment." He fished out Raine's flag from his coat. "Raine, if you'll take out Kimiko's..." he set Raine's flag down on the ground. "Kimiko, set mine down as well."
Kimiko blinked and looked at Raine before doing as Maboroshi said, laying the green flag she'd just retrieved on the forest floor. "Okay... what now?"
"We'll pick up our flags at the same time... on the count of three. Raine, you may count, start whenever your ready to begin..."

Raine watched backing up as Kimiko prepped to use her sword as she flicked the blade with a clean slice down Raine smiled, she was even better with her sword than he was with her Aian Nakkurru. The Katana was a beautiful weapon, he thought back to Tsuyosa-sensei wearing the fine blade at his waist. He had never seen him use it but the man was a god with the Nakkurru. "Kimiko that was really cool!" he said just before Xen pulled the flags. Raine realized that they had just collectively beaten the mission, and know 500 ryo waited in front of one of them. The thought was tempting but Quickly Rain shook his head the thought forced out with the motion. "Yeah, okay." He held the flag and laid it before it's owner. "You guys ready?" the small boy didn't wait for an answer. "1....2...-" he considered how quick Xen was, what if he got his first? "Ah....3."
He shot his hand out and curled his fingers in the dirt around his flag, snatching the thin material while small slivers of bark and tiny pebbles fell from his hand. He waited for a moment looking from Xen to Kimiko, nothing but silence. His gaze flicked around the forest. "Ah guys...." still silence, the forest moaned in the distance and birds sung around them. "What was supposed to happen?""HA HA HA! Would you guys relax!" A voice boomed down from above.
"What'd you think there was gonna be some kind of explosion?!"
Dash appeared above them, sitting cross legged on the vertical plane of a large tree, partially hidden by branches which he pushed out of the way to reveal himself, leaves toppled gently down on the group.
"You know in truth, I'm glad none of you won. That whole 500 ryo thing...." he hesitated standing up and crouching through the branches walking down to them slowly. "Well honestly, I was never going to give it to you anyway." He giggled to himself still. "But man, you guys can make a big deal out of nothing." He flung his hand over his his hair and sighed. "*Ah* Besides that though you lazy bums did pretty well. Eh.. for slackers anyway..." He stood just ten feet above their heads looking down at the team. "How would you guys say you did?"

Xenon pushed up his glasses 'I figured he'd pull something of this nature...but withdrawing the prize entirely...' he looked a little lazy eyed 'What a cheap skate.' he gave small smile. "I thought you'd be lurking about..."Sir"." Xenon recalled all too well his dislike like for titles. If their Sensei was going to be passive aggressive...well... then he was playing Xenon at his own game. "In response to your question I thought we did as well as might be expected from a fresh genin team... but then...is that what you are asking?" he tilted an eyebrow slightly.
Kimiko was looking a little confused. "But then...I don't get it...why would you say their was a prize when...oHHH! Lying... right I see what you did there." she was nodding to herself. "And what do you mean is that what he's asking Maboroshi? That's what he said right?"
Xenon looked at her with a slightly duplicitous smile "It's called Irony, Momoe-san, the use of words to express something other than their literal intention."
Kimiko narrowed her eyes at him. "You know Maboroshi... I really don't like you half the time..."
"Oh? Well then I'm half way there." He said with his sense of humor.

Dash crossed his arms, looking down at Xen. Yeah, definitely an over thinker. Cracking his neck while stretching it out of the awkward position it was in looking down at them.
"A few problems." he pointed to Raine. "Mr. Muscle over here seems to have forgotten his ninja skills. Quiet pathetic on your part man, you've got to work on that. However, good job with the wooden posts that was smooth. I don't want you to be a one trick pony though."
He pointed to Kimiko,"You didn't reallydo bad, but you didn't really do the great either. You're a gray between the white and black. Get out there, don't let these bags of testosterone throw you around. They were getting at each others gut with their own ideas and opinions while you just followed." He looked her in the eye for a fiery second and moved his finger on to Xen.
"And you. The star of the show I'm guessing, filled with little schemes and a pretentious vocabulary. I think I'm most disappointed in you. Through all your obvious skill and talent, you shot down the others with your "superior" intelligence, you carried them through the mission and you didn't let their best skills come in to play. This was a very dry mission, none of you improved upon any of your skills, 'cause big shot had the way paved in gold for you." He spoke to all of them now. "This is a team, not just Xen carrying your worthless butts. The purpose wasn't just to work together flawlessly and succeed exactly the way you think you're supposed to. The purpose was to challenge each other and find away to work as an each efficient team, that each member contributed to. Whether that be though laughing and being the best of buds, or ripping out each other hair." He glared down into each of their eyes.
"Now all of you get out of here. I've seen enough. Be at the training grounds tomorrow at noon, you're going to learn all the basic jutsu. And than you're going to spar." His annoyed voice strung the tension and with a swift flash he was jumping away faster than any of them could have followed. Leaving the forest in silence.

Xenon seemed pensive "Hm... Momoe-san? Do you find my Vocabulary pretentious?"
Kimiko blinked "Well...yeah..."
Xenon smirked turning back toward the village himself. "Good." He chuckled to himself.
Kimiko frowned "That's all you have to say Maboroshi!? I mean..." she looked a little deflated "I don't like to admit it either...but he was right." she clenched her fists "I...I have to try harder!"
Xenon's eyes were cold when he looked back to her. "Don't listen to him Momoe-san...you are far from domicile... it was merely circumstance that you seemed so..." he looked to Raine. "While his assessment of Raine was correct... the most laughable of all was his assessment of myself..." he didn't seem as light hearted as usual. "It may seem like I'm being petulant... but the truth of the matter is that the priority of missions isn't to help one another grow...there are better times for such things... the priority for missions is success and the lives of your comrades...to be so confident in victory that you'd focus on growing over the former is merely arrogance." he removed his glasses, rubbing on his coat as he cleaned them, his eyes sharp. "He's an arrogant fool...a powerful fool, but one regardless..."
"Maboroshi..." Kimiko gawked staring at him surprised.
"I refuse to listen to the words of such a imbecile... he is the very sort of person...I think I mind killing the least..." he replaced his glasses. "Hopefully I've misjudged him... else wise this student teacher relationship can only end...poorly."
"Did what he say make you that angry?" Kimiko challenged crossing her arms. "He's right you know...you do act like you're all that Maboroshi...you're doing it right now!"
Xenon turned around, his cold stare still in place, it seemed almost frigid...naturally his rival didn't back down. "That is merely my way...it's not a matter of arrogance... I do not think myself superior in any way..." he gave a suddenly amused smirk. "I merely act this way because it's fun."
"But-"
"Enough...I won't argue with you Momoe-san... you will, as always...think what you wish, there is nothing wrong with your way of thinking..." He jumped unto the Trunk of a tree, his feet sticking to it as he made his way up to the canopy, leaving the forest himself. "See you two around!" He called cheerily.
Kimiko frowned and stamped her foot on the ground. "OhhH! Darn it..."she put a finger to her forehead. "Maboroshi's never going to listen to Sensei now..." then she scrunched her face up slightly "No...no that's not right...he'll obey his commands... but... that's not what it means to have a sensei." she crossed her arms. "How am I going to get that jerk to realize him...I mean...whether Maboroshi liked it or not...he had a point...but then..." she looked confused putting her hands to her head. "But Maboroshi was kind of right too..." she razzed her own hair "This is so confusing!"
(A cookie if you can figure out what set my favorite little Genjutsu user off. confused Any way I like this! This'll be interesting to see how those two get along. Dash is definitely the kind of person Xen could grow to respect, but I'm not letting him realize that yet, because it would be too easy.)

Raine stood coldly, only listening to the buzz of his teammates in the background. All he his insecurities thrust in his face. Raine felt like beating something to death. His knuckles cracked in his curling fist and the Tekkenseisai muscles hardened around his body. The ultimate shield, and yet... it didn't seem to protect him from harsh words. Stuck in place by his stiff cells, Raine took deep heated breaths. He wanted nothing more than to strike out and shatter the tree that Dash had just stood on. He was so right, a one trick pony....
The thought of ripping the flesh from the Taki bandit's throat, the pouring out over Raine hands, his blades warm as blood seeped between the finger holes. No. He snapped up at Xen and Kimiko "You guys, wanna prove him wrong?" his muscles loosened out of the choke hold and he stepped forward trying to catch Xen. "I- you know that old hotel? Well it belonged to my Sensei before.... Well, anyway he was a legendary senin, and, and he told me that he had all of his techniques written down there. Big jutsu you know, stuff that no genin would know. Except I know where they are. We could learn a really big jutsu and prove him wrong." Raine hoped this would appeal to Xen even if it wasn't for the same reason. "He knew, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu, he knew everything. Stuff even, that's like secrets from other villages...."

the going on around Rosie distracted her from her focus. Her bubble of sight extended for 100's of feet. Howevr, it was hard to decresse, namly because she never trained her body to do it on will, but mnow with the influx of people ariving and the commotion going on between them, she found it hard to even think of a plan to catch the leafs. So Rosie focused, her head pounding, blood rushing in her ears. She slowly felt the people fade as the tree grew clearer and clearer. Until it was just her the gound benieth her feet and the tree, surrounded by a world of unceartainty and darkness.

Xenon stopped dead and was back on the ground before one could even register what was going on, his eyes flashing with an interest. He straightened his coat raising an eyebrow while Kimiko spoke first.
"Seriously? Then...do you really think that we could?" She looked at Maboroshi with a slightly uncertain voice. "I mean... I'm all for it, but do you really think that learning something like that would show him how strong we are? Do you think he'd change his mind?"
Xenon ran a hand through his hair his expression thoughtful and even, not showing emotion either way. "No. I find it unlikely that it would, people like that see their own truth... However..." he seemed considering. "If you would like to try, I would be more than willing to accompany you. It would be a good opportunity to acquire some powerful techniques for the future, not to mention all the other material someone as prominent as a Senin would have attained." He put his hands in his pockets. "Yes...I'll come with you."
Kimiko crossed her arms and tilted her head. "Well...I guess there's no reason not to go. If it does change his mind then good, if it doesn't then we can get a bunch of cool jutsu to work on..." she nodded to herself out of habit. "Okay! Sounds like a Plan Raine! lead the way!"
