Kaguya Benjiro Chaoscarrier Karasu_Tenma Chaoscarrier @ ALL
This may seem a bit out of place, but hear me out. Den's clan involving the corrupted Chakra and Soul Weapons carries a steep similarity to my fully developed Toyotama clan. The Toyotama Clan's chakra is a corrupted dark purple/violet miasma which I doubt anyone would find any harm in players choosing their own color when they start, but anyways--Plans for the miasma involved the concept of the Miasma materializing and taking form in different ways.
Would it not be a sounder option to take Toyotama over the soulbound clan? I'm curious to hear other's thoughts on this as well. I think we should just let the votes fall where they will. Den's concept is sufficiently developed. I'm sure they will either way, but in hopes of making the most use of limited selections, I figured flexibility in design might count for something more. I'm not shaming anyone when it comes right down to the build though. I just wanted to see more story. I wasn't the only one either, but that's been my nagging deal since day one--'story'. I don't think this is very appropriate, Chaos. Everyone put time and effort into their clans, and though you make the claim that you're not shaming anyone, you actually are. Just because your story was longer doesn't make your idea any better. This is why we are all voting, because the things one person cares about when revolving around the clans isn't the same for everyone. I wasn't really aiming to shame, but I had conversations with more than just one individual(s) I highly respect in terms of writing and the more general a concept is, the more flexible it's development is, but I shared the belief that was first cast to me from another that it felt as if a handful of entries were a little lacking in development. The core idea holds any number of branches to go off of and they're great ideas. I'm sorry if everyone's getting the 'self promoting douche' vibe from me. Self voting is no different than explicitly giving your idea leverage no matter how it stacks up. I found out Den actually really liked my idea, and it seems (to me atleast) that the core of his idea could still be exemplified through my own clan. It's an idea. Please, no pitchforks...

come play That campaigning, a wee bit overboard Seems like a lot more than that by reception. I really wouldn't be surprised if people took to mob mentality and blocked out my clan over their frustrations. It's not the first time, nor will it be the last time I've ever seen it.

Kakone My opinion is that all the clan concepts were mediocre at best -- Den's had the best concept but just not as much adaptability in a D20 roleplay because a lot of the appeal lies more in the roleplay aspects than the D20 combat system. I mostly agree with this. I had conversations with a friend some time ago and it felt as if systematically it was geared closely to owning a pre-created unique weapon and applying that point effect "Soulbound" (or some variation of naming) Kakone That being said -- Everyone still worked very hard on their concepts and should have a fair shot towards winning the slot within the guild custom contest. I think it's quite unprofessional and downright embarrassing to try to garner votes the way that you are. -scratches head- Seeing how everyone is taking it certainly hits home, but I'm not embarrassed in the least to promote my own ideas. I looked at the concept provided by Den, but couldn't find any inspiration for my own use. I did know however that Den had shown real interest in my concept. I thought about it as a compromise the fit between the lines and technically squeeze two concepts through one slot. I think I ultimately screwed the introduction to the idea, but it's not to say that even proposing the idea properly that anyone would have looked at it objectively instead of immediately looking for the worst in me. Again, sorry if I really insulted anyone. It wasn't my intention, but I'm very straightforward. When there's something to be had and I put almost the event's span of time into the idea, I'm going to step out and put it forth. I'm gonna push it to discussion and look for compromises to further the idea. It's an investment with a lot of flexible options systematically and RPically and carries a highly defined concept. I proposed it knowing that atleast 3 other people besides me had genuine interest in it. I'm not gonna say people didn't put time into it. Karasu told me prior he spent 3 hours on his idea. That's great. Does that mean I'm going to forego the shameless self voting that a good number have? I'm not. I want to see this clan breathe life into the guild, more than just be on the roster and hold great hopes for it. If accepted, everyone, at any time gets a piece of the pie, no matter which clans make the final cut. It's not just myself that stands to gain, and I purposely altered ideas for the sake of incorporating people who may love the idea and not the aesthetic it shadows over a character by yielding effective options for change. At the end of the day, I'm an axiety riddled fool fueled by a passion for the quality and flexibility of building and incorporating.

I know the concept proposal idea has already passed; however, I'm intrigued by this bird concept? What exactly did you have in mind?

It is ok, people aren't that bad, I am sure you will do fine All good, did you have fun? I have to agree the D20 system is a bit difficult to translate into using custom effects The idea bouncing around was the ether go full bird in that the looked like birds or that the wore bird shaped masks and clothing, with ether hollow bones giving them more speed but physically weaker, or the ability to create wings and float/glide, or maybe the ability to turn the hands and feet into talons, and mimic sounds and stuff But as I was making it seemed more like a character idea more then a clan

come play It is ok, people aren't that bad, I am sure you will do fine I don't know anymore. This has been my go-to space since we started back up and my realm of peace of mind because my anxiety creates more problems than I've ever solved beyond it. It feels like steam is just flowing out of my ears. I feel completely spent and am not able to draw any motivation or inspiration at the moment.

I could see where you might think that. It definitely sounds like an interesting idea for a character for sure! I always felt the same way about Mika's character~ Monkeys heart
I was actually talking to blaze and sai about a witcher inspired clan but fell through because I didn't really invest anytime into the roleplay or even Gaia lately. I've spent the entirety of my time with the family. It's a busy time of year after all.
I was going to concentrate more on their sight and sensitivity to their environment because I feel like we are really lacking in medical and sensory clans, so I'm excited about Orasakai because while not specifically medical (I can still certainly benefit from the skills a lot more than these more combat based clans).

Well we all get like that from time to time don't we, and I think most of us are in a similar boat at the moment I know it sounds weird but it sound like you need sometime to relax a bit, and let your imagination have sometime to marinate with some new ideas

I think part of it comes from Naruto where, most of the clans are more focused on a character we see in the show. Yeah a Witcher style clan all about modifying the body over years with potions and body modification that give them superhuman abilities, would be neat, also would fit nicely into Naruto with all the weird medical stuff we see in Naruto, and a sensory clan would be neat Family always take top spot so it good your spending time with them Yeah it will be nice to have the Orasakai but when you read it feel like a passive physical version of the "Strength of a Hundred Seal" with drawbacks, but that may just be me Oh that must have been nice for a change of pace

I doubt my clan will get to the finals, but I hope the Ketsueki get in. I would love to see blood bending in the guild taken to an extreme.

I like the creative writing, but I came back with intentions of being a contender. My first NFS experience showed me rather clearly that NFS, in a lot of ways, is much closer to a game than an RP. Like using writing and math as a medium to replace the coding and years of software development. Hm. I'm having trouble describing it, but basically: If you neglect the 'game' by electing to write for fun and not keep up in levels, you can very easily become the bystander who winds up forced to watch everyone else have fun because your stats won't allow you to have any kind of impact or ability to set the pace. "Multiplayer". Lol But with events like the Chunin Exams that bring people from everywhere together, it becomes the most important aspect, cause if you're not producing the check necessary to create the setting, you're left to watch everyone else create it. Chunin Exams was probably a better example too cause the less capable of competing you are, the sooner the festivities of that event end for you. I'm trying to formulate, but my brain is refusing.
