Now they were flying over the Johto Region, just above Cherrygrove City.
That had been the place where Kilik had first met Kasiya's Larvitar. I wonder if it's evolved yet? he thought, looking down then quickly burying his head into Rena's back. He wondered now what he would do. Without Rena, he couldn't get from place to place really quickly, regardless of how much he hated to Fly. Although, it would give him the chance to train his Ludicolo and Lairon in peace.
Would Lairon even want to be trained, though? The type of power and character it had really seemed to Kilik like the kind that didn't desire to be messed with at all. He gulped. This might be harder than I thought... he whimpered again.

"Alright, time for some real training." Train said. Pikachu looked up at her and blinked. "We're gonna find a Geodude to fight!" She said.
Soon, she found it. It was just floating around. It attacked first, picking up a rock and tossing it at Pikachu. Pikachu was ready to attack, but Train said, "Wait! Your attacks won't have any effect at all, let Ratata handle this for now." She said, and released Ratata from it's pokeball.
The mouse pokemon stood ready. "Quick Attack!" Train said, and Ratata blurred, then slammed into Geodude. Geodude wasn't hurt much. It threw a rock at Ratata, but Ratata dodged it easy.

Keegan was rather surprised to see not one, but two gyms come into view. He caught a glimpse of the sign outside of the second - it was a Fighting Dojo. Having heard that Sabrina's gym was home to many psychic Pokemon, it was no wonder that the latter was the city's official gym. When Sabrina died, it would have made more sense for the dojo to become Saffron's official gym, he thought, but shrugged. Leadership had since been passed onto Nina, and there was no use in questioning things now. He eyed the two figures waiting outside, studying Whitney in particular. Nina had blue hair, he thought, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. Maybe this girl is Whitney?
When she called out to Kasiya, Keegan reached out suddenly and grabbed his friend by the arm, twirling her around pulling her to him. "I know I shouldn't have to tell you this," he whispered, leaning in close, "but no matter what, I want you to give it your all. Don't hold back one little bit."
Certain that he'd got his point across, he released her, not giving her time to respond to what he'd said. He looked up to at least acknowledge Whitney and Raimundo's presence while running a hand through his somewhat messy red hair. He chose not to say anything at the moment, and urged Kasiya forward with a gentle nudge.

Kasiya let out a surprised gasp as Keegan pulled her to him, and she could swear that he could feel just how loud her heart was pounding right through her chest. She knew her face had gone scarlet, mainly because at first she thought he was going to lean in and kiss her for good luck. When he pulled away, her face was still relatively flushed, and she looked a bit confused. Of course I'm going to give it my all, she thought irritably. Where would he get such a ridiculous idea? Then she thought back to the battle she'd had against Jaeshan long ago, and she frowned a bit. Okay, I held back once, but that was just one time! This is different. This is for a badge!
"Hey Whitney!" Kasiya said, finally returning the girl's greeting. She glanced at Raimundo, and nodded a bit. "And hey, uh, you!" She laughed a bit, not knowing who the young man was. How did Whitney land a hunk like that?! she thought, turning her gaze to the ground in order to keep her glance a simple glance instead of a prolonged study. "Oh um, this is my friend Keegan," she went on, gesturing towards the redhead and putting emphasis on the word 'friend', perhaps still a little irked that he hadn't kissed her. "Where's Nina? Is she inside?"

Whitney grinned. "Kasiya, it's like, really great to see you again!" She briefly leaned forward to hug the girl, but--
No, no. Too early; she'd probably get concerned I liked HER!
So, she stopped herself, as she heard Raimundo laugh a bit at the girl's greeting. "So, you're the famous Kasiya! Nina's been talking about you ever since you declared you wanted to battle her. Oh, but listen to me, I've forgotten my manners-- my name's Raimundo, but you can call me Rai if you want. You know, like Raichu." He grinned.
"Oh, it's really nice to meet you Keegan," Whitney said, looking over to the redhead and nodding a bit, then turning her gaze back to Kasiya. "Nina? Um, yep! She's back inside, and she's like, probably going insane waiting for you. Not that, like, you're late or anything, but just because she's been like, totally on edge about the battle." She nodded her head toward the door, before starting to walk to it, indicating for the others to follow her inside.

"I'm hardly famous," Kasiya laughed nervously, scratching the back of her head. Not when everyone else has so many more badges than I do...but not for long! She smiled to herself and followed Raimundo and Whitney inside, silently thanking Whitney for behaving herself this time around. She threw a glance back to see if Keegan was following, and pursed her lips. If I win this battle, he'd better kiss me, she thought almost bitterly before pushing the thought aside as the familiar interior decor of Saffron gym surrounded her. "It's finally time," she murmured, placing her hands on her hips and looking around. "I hope that wherever you are, you're watching over this place, Sabrina," she whispered, smiling wistfully at her friends memory.

Nina had her back to the door, standing in the middle of the arena. When she heard it open, and the footsteps of the people entering, a cold sweat formed on her forehead.
Now or never, she thought.
Turning around, unclipping a Pokeball from her belt, Nina looked to her friend, smiling a little bit. She enlarged the Pokeball, and hovered it a few inches abover her open palm. "Kasiya," she said, in a rather strange tone-- a mix of attempted stoicism but simultaneously... fear? "Welcome to my Gym. As you can see, I currently have no traps set up for you to navigate through, so you will simply be facing me today." She cleared her throat. "You already know what I'm about to say, so I need to apologize for the formalities, but it's a Gym Leader procedure." Pause. "I am Nina, Gym Leader of Saffron City. Since I was but a child, I have been able to hone my skills in the fields of telekinesis and telepathy, sharpening them however subtly with every passing day and night. Therefore, it is only fitting that I am to battle you with Pokemon of this type."
She stopped hovering her Pokeball, and let it fall into her hand. "I wish you the best of luck." She nodded quickly, and thre the ball onto the arena. Regal appeared, looking around the arena, almost surprised to be seeing the light of day again. Then, the Slowking turned to look at Kasiya.
"I... remember you," he stated. "You're one of Sabrina's friends..."
Edited after realizing how badly I fale at life. xD

Maven and Trevor weaved their way through the streets of Saffron City. As they approached Maven stopped looking at the two buildings that would be gyms. Trevor who was attached to Maven found an abrupt halt and turned back to tug on Maven slightly.
"Uhm...Cuz which one?" Trevor chuckled and pulled Maven forward heading into the official gym "Silly Maven who doesn't train for badges. Through the years the Psychic gym has always overpowered the fighting dojo for the title of the city's official gym you see. So with that the Psychic gym ruled over all. Now even you should know that the psychic types are strong against fighting, and that's how that was done. Sadly Sabrina passed away no one really knows how at this time. Nina who is her younger sister took over the official gym which is this one."
The two had entered into the gym and seen a bunch of people around the area. Trevor went off on his own way. Maven watched as he stood to the side and pulled out his pokemon and sat in the middle of them. Maven knew he was getting them worked up for the battle as he always did. She was always proud of her cousin for making a bond with his pokemon.
Maven pulled out her pokeball knowing that Phyra wouldn't be the best thing indoors had pulled out Vixy. Vixy was excited to be out and jumped up into Maven's arms. Maven went down the side of the gym and was lucky to be able to pick a great seat to see all the action that was going to take place. Maven never had entered a gym before and has never seen a battle in a gym take place. Her eyes were darting all over the place getting all the details she could as she sat down waiting and petting Vixy gently.

Keegan still said nothing, only offered a small wave before following the others inside. He looked around, wondering what kind of tricks, traps and puzzles a psychic gym would have to offer. Again he silently pondered if perhaps some day he'd be entering this gym, issuing a challenge to Nina himself. He strayed behind a bit more as Nina stepped forward, and Keegan now recognized the tall, blue-haired gym leader. She seemed different than before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what was odd about her. He looked around before heading off towards the sidelines to sit down and watch the battle from a spectator's standpoint. A woman brushed past him, followed by a young man and the two headed towards the bleachers before going their separate ways. The woman sat down, looking rather eager to see a battle, and no sooner had she taken her seat than she released a small female Vulpix into her arms. Keegan felt his heart bottom out at the sight of the small fire fox, and it took every ounce of self-control he had within him to not turn and run from the gym. He swallowed his pride and continued walking – he couldn’t flee every time he saw a Vulpix. Besides, he’d promised Kasiya he would watch the entire battle.
He made his way along, and surprisingly enough, took a seat rather close to the pretty young woman and her Vulpix. Maybe she’d let him have a look at her, and he could show off a bit of his breeding expertise. He'd only just taken his own seat when he felt a wiggle from one of his Poke Balls. He unhooked the offending sphere and enlarged it, releasing his young Psyduck into his lap. Blinking and looking around, Althena clambered over him and into a seat of her own, making Keegan laugh. "Watch closely, Althena," he told her. "Nina is going to be using Psychic Pokemon, so maybe you can get a better understanding of your own psychic power." As if to prove some unknown point, Althena waved her arm at him, levitating her Poke Ball from his palm and making it circle them a few times. "Speaking of showoffs," Keegan chuckled, patting the water Pokemon on the head lovingly.

Maven had seen from the side a rather attractive young man keep coming forward to her. Her entire body had tightned up. She couldn't say anything her mouth got dry as he sat down close to her. She tried to keep her gaze on the battle field however when he let loose a Psyduck Maven couldn't help but look at the water pokémon.
"H-Hello. That's an awfully neat trick that she can do. I honestly believe that by watching different pokémon who could share their traits each one could learn better. I'm doing a study on it actually..." Maven blurted out STUPID way to sound like a nerd. No wonder why you don't talk to people. Maven lowered her head allowing her hair to fall in front of her face hoping that he would ignore her.

Kasiya merely smiled, holding back her urge to hug her friend. She listened to Nina's introduction, nodding along, and smiling at Regal as the Slowking appeared before her. But Sabrina didn't trade Regal to me to evolve, she thought. I helped her evolve Oracle. "Nice to see you again, Regal," she said, waving at the Slowking. "And you too, Nina." The ever-present warmth in Kasiya's voice was still there, although she too could sense something was different about her friend. "Thank you, Nina. Let's make this a good one, one to remember." She grinned then, waiting for Nina to tell her what the rules of the battle would be.

Keegan chuckled at the woman's embarrassment. "It's the best way to learn, watching others," he said softly, smiling at her. Althena looked up at him for a moment, and then over at the Vulpix. She let her Poke Ball fall back into her trainer's hand, and became content to watch the Slowking that Nina had released.
"She's very lovely," the redhead went on, nodding towards Vixy. "Has she been with you long?" For some reason, he felt obliged to be nice. Maybe it was because he was inside a gym, and gyms commanded respect. Maybe it was because he was slowly becoming a nicer person? Perish the thought. He scoffed at himself inwardly, and held out a hand in Maven's direction. "Name's Keegan," he nodded. "Nice to meet you."

"M-Maven. Nice t-to meet you." Maven put out her hand and shook it with a small smile still embarrassed. "I a-agree. Some people d-don't reason for my s-study. N-no not long really. S-she was injured and someone brought her in t-to this pokemon center. Nurse Joy saw me with Phyra a-and asked if I c-could help get her health and strength up."
Maven smiled and cursed her shyness for it brought out a terrible stutter. She was highly educated and knew how to talk. Maven hoped with all she could hope for that this Keegan wouldn't put her as a village idiot. Vixy had looked up at the new person and tilted her head curiously at him. Vixy quickly leapt from Maven's lap to sit beside Keegan and sniffed him. "Vixy...uhm...s-s-so sorry about that."

"Always a noble cause," the youth nodded. Why do the strange ones always find me? he thought, smiling a bit at her stuttering, and wondering why she was so nervous. Perhaps he was scarier looking than he thought? He hadn't expected the Vulpix to be so brazen and come right up to him. "It's quite all right," he laughed, reaching out to pet the little one. She seemed quite healthy and able. "May I?" he asked before picking her up to have a better look at Vixy. Judging by the length and curls on her tail she wasn't very old or experienced, but she was energetic and curious, all good signs. Her fur was also quite shiny and she seemed to have a good bone structure. "She looks like she's from a good stock," he commented, setting Vixy back down in the chair next to her. "Take good care of her, and maybe someday you'll have a powerful Ninetales on your side." He sighed a bit, unconsciously reaching for the piece of dark charcoal he wore around his neck, and he couldn't help but wonder if Sheridan was taking good care of Helios or not.

"A-are you a b-breeder?" Maven questioned as he took his look at Vixy and came up with his conclusions. Maven turned herself to look at him better. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"I was told she came in battered and bruised. Nurse Joy was really w-worried about her size. She's quite the daredevil really. She jumpes between's Phyra's hooves frequently. She probably won't become a Ninetales for me. I want to see her battle a few more fights out there to test her strength out hopefully get her to learn a few more moves. However since she is not my pokemon, nor my pet. She was from the wild. I will have to try to put her back there one day. It's not going to be easy I know that. However something I'll have to learn how to do. Yet I do hope she becomes powerful to survive out there." Maven watched him reach up towards his necklace. I wonder why that's there...I can't ask I don't know him well enough. Not friends, wouldn't know if I had one or not.
Maven sighed softly as she smiled softly at Keegan pleased that she was able to focus her stutter out.
