Last page you see Pein drawing his sword (let's call it that for a lack of a better word) and then you see the sky being raised.

Okay, her neck might not be slit. The picture just shows a large slash mark assuming on Hinata. Would you rather Kishi show the cut mark, him actually piercing the blade into her body, or leave it to imagination?

Okay, a neck slit is entirely within the realms of possibility though since they didn't show exactly where it cut.

And I swear, she should die. A dues ex machina would be horrible to bring up. Kishi is killing people for a reason. He's not just playing darts with all the characters on the board to see who he will kill off next. There's a purpose for everything in this series. If Hinata is dead, then so be it.

It sucks, but it's true.

okay first off she should not die. and secondly, i don't think i believe that there is good reason for all of their deaths b/c he's killing off good characters and a lot of them. its like he's killing off all the people who are really close to naruto- and the only reason that comes to mind for that is to make him "stronger" and thats a stupid reason.

Please, if you're going to respond, at least read all of this post. I know it's a bit long, but I'm supporting my argument. Thank you.

Deus Ex Machina: A latin phrase translating into "god from the machine." Basically it's a "gift from god" that comes out of no where that will solve plot holes and tie up loose ends. For example, in Naruto a person randomly comes in with the power to revive the dead, and revives every single person in the village out of his own free will. That is a Deus Ex Machina, in an extreme sense.

If you pay attention to the plots of many series, you'd see this happens quite a few times. Like, a series right about to end adds a new character who'll make the plot line progress at a rate that it'll finish in two episodes. That's a Deus Ex Machina.

He's doing it on a purpose. There is a good reason for all their deaths. Kishi is trying to make us feel that "pain" that Pein has been preaching about. Good people will die. Bad things happen to good people you know? Imagine, Pein was a good kid in the past. He had a family, friends, and all of that. Just imagine, before the first ninja-war that Amegakure was just like Konoha. It was peaceful, full of loving people, love interests and all of that jazz. Then the war came, and killed everyone off and left them by themselves. Is that fair? Is it fair to kill off people just in the middle of two waring nations?

When Pein's people died, that caused a spark in Pein, or rather Nagato I should be saying. It caused him to, become crazy. Just like Naruto is becoming crazy now because his people are dying.

Think about it. Kishi is purposely trying to set up a parallel for the two. Heck, they even look alike.

So yes, good people will die, and bad people will live. It's sad, but that's why Naruto is going to fight even harder for their sacrifices. Do you see what I mean? Just because you know the main cast so well, that means squat to the Akatsuki. Kishi is not trying to be biased. The "Hero"s, heck, we should really be calling them "protagonists" since they aren't exactly the biggest heroes in the eyes of others, are just people who are out to kill them. They know nothing of the fun and happy and hard times they went through. All they know is that they want to kill each other.

So you see? Pein is right. Hatred is a never-ending cycle in a sense. One person's hatred will just fuel another's, which will lead to a death in the series.

So to sum it all up, Hinata is a good person and is the right person to show that Kishi is not afraid to take a risk. She's dead, killed by the hands of Pein just like his people died by the hands of Konoha.

Parallels, they happen everywhere.

Good reason. But why should he show other people how he feels? And he has to do a demo for it? That's not necessary if he ever wants to 'Break the Chain of Hatred.' I know he wants people realize this, but he's just making people angry. Surely they'll understand this point of view on what he's trying to tell us, but what good does it make? Making them understand it? Sure, Naruto himself did understand his point, but do you ever think his ever going to help Pein? Just by killing of Hinata? It's pointless at the same time, it just angers him.

I'm slightly disappointed in Kishi. I actually thought he had the guts to do it. I'm happy that Hinata is alive and all, but it's still fairly improbable...

Well, we can't get everything, and maybe he didn't want to upset the fans too much, or maybe he's got a plot point planned out somewhere along the line where this matters. I don't know but I'm a little relieved since I don't like it when a lot of likeable characters dies all at once, be it in original manga or fanfics alike.
