Duncan_the_Soulknight First of all, I'd just like to say I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. I don't think I did, but you never know. I was told the other day that I can be offensive without meaning to, and tact has never been my strong side. Sorry. Besides, scandic mythology has always been a touchy subject for me. I don't think I said anything angry or mean but meh. Also, I wasn't saying that you shouldn't pick the wolf or dragon or whatnot, I was just trying to clear out if you thought they had anything to do with the Aesir or not, and, if so, try to explain otherwise. I have no right to tell you what to do or not. Sort of the same with the runes, I suppose. Not my intention if you took it otherwise. (If it was about the Aesir just for the heck of it, I would've complained about the hammer way more than the other things.) You didn't offend me, it was just sort of irksome how you were focused on the Aesir part when the tattoo idea really didn't have much to do with them except for Thor... sweatdrop I just didn't like how you made it sound like I knew nothing and hadn't done a lick of research. sweatdrop But that isn't offensive, just a little on the irksome side. xP [Especially since I'm reading a really boring book on the history of runes. -_-] [To be entirely honest, the actual tattoo has appeared in my dreams on numerous occasions. Which is probably part of the reason why I got irked. I'm sorry if you thought I'd taken offense or anything.] Actually. You remind me of my Uncle David. xD He's a mega genius and likes to send out emails to the family in Norwegian because he knows none of us can read it. He just likes to prove that he's much more knowledgeable on the family's history than anyone else. ...And now I'm in the process of proving him wrong by trying to learn Norwegian on my own. xD; Its not going very well. My attention span sucks. [As is noticeable by how I went from one topic to an entirely different one in just a few sentences.] sweatdrop

Emeraude - *laughs* Seriously, my goal is to be able to call my Uncle a stupid genius in Norwegian. xD He'd freak out. Which'd serve him right. 3nodding
I know, I know! A word. xD Or! Maybe...the Navy symbol thingy? o.o [I think that's what you said he was in? o.o]

As in "Not norvegian, but something that is close". If you were to go on languages I know in total, there's actually german and some french to add to the swedish and (obviously) english.

Duncan_the_Soulknight As in "Not norvegian, but something that is close". If you were to go on languages I know in total, there's actually german and some french to add to the swedish and (obviously) english. Ah. I knew that you were Norwegian. ^^; I was just being sarcastic about wanting to say that to my Uncle. I wouldn't really say that. -_-
'sides, if I -really- wanted to get him, I'd say it in Inupiak. xD
I learned three phrases in an Inpuiak/Russian language today! [Its the language of a village in Alaska. They have a hybrid of Inupiak and Russian.] So far...I can say "thank you", "thank you very much", and "I'll see you tomorrow". She said I'm a very fast learner and that she'll teach me 3 phrases a day until I can hold a conversation. Unless I prove I can grasp the Russian accent by Saturday. Then she said I can learn as much as I want each day. So far...I can sound like I'm Inupiak. But...the Russian defeats me. -_- I somehow make it sound Spanish! o.o
So far...I know parts of several languages, but haven't really buckled down to become fluent in any specific one. sweatdrop I'm really going to buckle down on this Inupiak, though. I really want to be able to understand one of the residents better.
I really should start focusing on one language at a time... -_-

Actually, I'm a Swede. (It just never gets old for me to present myself in that way. Like I'm some sort of human/vegetable hybrid or something. xd ) We don't speak norvegian in Sweden but the languages are very similar. So similar, in fact, that if a Swede and a Norvegian talk to each other in their own language, we can usually understand each other with almost no trouble.
And yeah, I can from personal experience tell you that it's easier to just focus on one language. Then again, I was more or less born with my languages, so I woulndn't really know.

I know they're similar. xP Just like Italian/French/Spanish are all similar.
I'd meant "weren't" not "were" it was a typo. -_- You'd mentioned a few times before that you're Swedish, I think. I'm not -quite- that stupid as to call you Norwegian after you said you don't speak it.
*glomps Amber* <3
*shrug* I don't do well when I focus on one thing at a time. sweatdrop Today, I learned 2 new phrases and 1 new word in the Inupiaq/Russian hybrid from the lady's village. xD I learned how to say, "I love you", "Hello", and "It won't come off."
Yes. The last one is entirely random. xD
