"Who are you...

Cheyenne's palms were sweating. She wasn't about to ask him to the masquerade, but she was going to give him a big hint. "You'll see." She lead him up the stairs and into her mom and dads room. "Come to the wardrobe and see." She opened the squeaky doors of the tall dusty to reveal a dark green and very unique dress with a gold mask hanging by its side, protected with a plastic cover. She stepped aside and let Harry get a good look at it, hoping she wasn't being to blunt. She didn't even know if he had the right clothes. "This was my mothers dress when she went to the dance with my father a few years ago. I'm not sure how it would look on me, but we could... uhh... always... find out?" she said shrugging a bit. She was panicking in the back of her mind. "She said I could use it, if I ever found a..." her voice unintentionally turned to a whisper. "date..." Even if he did say he would like to go, I still don't have the slightest clue how to dance! I probably should have thought of that.

You seem so interesting...

‘If souls had a price, I would steal yours’

Kimi was unsure as to how long she had been standing at the top of the staircase, but eventually she began the descent down the beautiful staircase. Her small heeled shoes where completely different to what she would normally wear, and it probably showed with her slow movements.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she made it to the bottom in one piece with out messing up or stumbling. A few people glanced at her but their expressions where hidden behind masks. It was a eerily beautiful setting. The music was like a soft enticing voice calling people towards the dance floor, where they seemed to float effortlessly in a gentle rhythm.

“Such a strange place” Kimi whispered softly while her eyes moved from one couple to the next. She defiantly was not one for this setting, and found her self turning down people asking her to dance with them quite regularly. In the end she weaved through the crowds and started to walk around the dance floor, avoiding any other advances.

Many of the guest’s had adorned their self’s with many jewels and rubies. Some of which had caught Kimi’s eye. But she had left her bag back at Edna’s house, a mistake? She did not think so. The old woman was far to kind to snoop through her belongings. So for now she will have to take a night off from stealing “Huh…we shall see” She murmured.

“Care to dance?” Kimi turned to glance at a tall, slim built man with smooth chestnut hair, who was hidden behind a dark red mask. She was about to turn him down when he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the dance floor.
“I..I don’t dance!” Kimi stuttered in mild surprise.

“Ah don’t be silly it is easy, follow my lead milady” The guy cooed in a soft yet firm tone. He placed his right hand lightly on her waste, and pulled her closer to him, while his left hand clasped her own. He chuckled before leading the two of them in time with the music.

Kimi had struggled at first and kept looking down at her feet, but the guy told her to look up and let the music and himself do the work. It felt completely new to her, being so close to a complete stranger, yet she was smiling even laughing! “Oh my, looks as though I have been captured by the music and the mysterious ball that is the masquerade”

"My goodness! You are a wonderful dancer!" Chimed the young girl with light brown hair, looking up at her dance partner as they both parted only a step from each other.
Clay gazed back down at her, a small smile forming just under the mask that covered his face from the nose to the forehead. She was exaggerating. If anything, Clay was average at dancing, no more. "I owe it all to such a great partner, madam." He dropped into a slight bow, silently thanking the girl for her company before saying a small farewell and walking away.

Clay had been dancing for a while now with a small handful of different girls that had come up to ask him. He surmised that it was because they wanted attention, seeing as how the ice master felt that most of the eyes around were constantly on him, and, by extension, whoever he danced with. No matter how much he tried to blend in, going so far as to wear a mask, Clay could be immediately recognized by his height alone, if not for his unique garbs.

It seemed Clay was destined to stick out like a sore thumb wherever he went, generally towering over the population of the area he'd decided to visit. WillBe was no different in that regard.

Ducking and weaving his way through the dancers, making sure not to allow his icy clothes to touch any of them for an extended amount of time for fear of involuntarily giving them frostbite, Clay's eyes caught a finely dressed woman in an elegant red qown(Aeora) who looked to be away from the dancers, simply choosing to observe. Normally, Clay would have payed it little attetion, but... Something nagged at Clay's mind as to why she would do so. His interest piqued and, with nothing else to do at the moment, Clay casually strode toward where the woman stood staring, having to reject a couple more invitations to dance along the way.

Finally arriving next to the crimson gown clad female, not entirely aware of anyone else around, Clay slowly came to stand to her right, staring out toward the exact same spot she was, attempting to see what she saw. "Nice view? All the dancers in their masks?"

Just barely having finished his questions, a look of pure shock came to Clay's face. What the hell was that?! How could I...?! An intense urge to slap a palm to his forehead came to Clay, but, at the risk of seeming like an even huger idiot, he refrained from doing so, managing to bring a calm facade to his features quickly. He sorely hoped the woman hadn't seen his momentary panic.

~Angel~

Angel looked around rather excited, looking at all the other people in their mask and dazzling clothes. She certainly hadn't done anything like this in ages in fact she'd only been about twice and that was back home, though it was hard to recognise some of the people, she noticed a smallish girl in the light blue gown, soon realising it was kimi, she smiled as she watched kimi dance, she moved close to the side of the hall leaning against a pillar, a man approached her and asked her to dance but she smiled and shook her head lightly "sorry i can't dance very well" he smiled and bowed and joined the rest of the dancers, Angel saw a couple stop dancing, the man was Clay, no doubt, his height and build gave him away, she smiled lightly and pushed her mask up slightly, happily walking out of the hall and into the gardens, she couldn't help but be curious as she saw a large maze, she walked towards it looking up at the rather large walls.

Chela Vilixion Rampage

Chela was standing up on a balcony, examining the people, and the outfits. Everyone was adorned with jewels, and masks of every kind. Chela looked down at her own outfit and adjusted her necklace, out of bordem. She was doing what she was meant to do, and making her way off the balcony. ....the masquerade. I wonder how many people are changed by these events? How many Was would dare to show up, dressed up and watching for us? Some Is, they dance, and have a good time, checking and watching for Was, while living this one, glitter and emotion filled night to the fullest? Or....God forbid, if someone thinks they meet the one for them....Ha! As if such a thing could actually exist.. she thought, pressing her lips together to keep from scoffing aloud.

Chela held her head up, relaxed her mouth, and softened her eyes some, trying to seem poliet, and lady-like. It didn't come easy to her, but she knew how to do it, and so she did, holding the rail of the stairs. She watched as the people danced, lightly bumping each other, and smiling. She made her way to the stairs, and walked slowly, gracefully down them. She took her time on the stairs, as she could see everyone fairly well from them, and finally made a stop at the bottom. She stood to the side of them, and lightly fingered her mask, actually liking the covering. It couldn't hide her eyes however, so you could see them clearly if you were looking, bright lavander, with swirls of gold inside. They weren't something you would forget anytime soon, and she briefly wondered if they would bother anyone to much. I hope not....some people might notice them though...

She waved a poliet hand when a random man asked to dance, and hoped that it would not keep happening. She didn't want to dance with a man, or dance much at all. But she was in a, suprisingly, good mood, pleased with the music, the atmosphere so far. Chela slowly and bravely made her way through the throngs of people, to the window on the other side. She was brushed against, and spoken to, so Chela poliet nodded her head, and forced a lovely smile onto her face. "You look lovely...thank you for your compliment...yes, of course." Chela made her way to the window, and looked around. Chela...there is no reason to be this cold tonight. Be at least poliet, and do not glare. She thought to herself, so she nodded poliety to Kimi, and then to Clay, when she caught their eyes. Her eyes were completly open, and rather startling, but beautiful none the less.. Chela sighed lightly, and folded her arms across her chest, looking for anything interesting.

"Hey take me to nuclear reactor,
I wish to dive into core,
wanna fly, fly fly.
A ray of blue lights surround my body,
Beautiful."

Aeora stood making complex observations of the festivities around her, continuously making inner mental notes of those masks that showed great importance, occasionally turning down the request to dance from some human men who didn't know any better. For a while she would put on a polite front, smiling as she declined, but after a minute her patience began to wear thin. Nevertheless she did her best to be utterly normal.

Her posture was perhaps a bit different than the other women attending the masquerade. She stood calmly without fidgeting often, clearly not the least bit nervous about her appearance or dress or anything else that seemed to cause great insecurity to other people. She knew little of such worries. Some could mistake this for sheer confidence, though to Aeora such feelings came rather naturally. This could be intimidating to some, so the most nervous or shy men could not bring themselves to approach her to ask her to dance, while the most confident men walked away with new insecurities when she declined.

After a while, however, a rather tall masked man approached Aeora and stood beside her. She noticed that the other humans around him acted quite shocked at his sheer size, though Aeora felt no such surprise at his physcial appearance. She was, however, a bit more confused when he posed his statement in order to, as the humans said, 'break the ice'.

Aeora looked up at him, noticing his slight discomfort at his somewhat awkward question. She didn't mind the nature of his question or how he posed it, as much as she minded that he posed it at all. Once again she had to remember why she was here. Under normal circumstances she may not have answered at all, but she knew that it was important that she blend in with these people, and so she answered, "I think the masks are more suitable than their true faces. Much more honest to their nature."

She soon realized that this wasn't an entirely normal answer, and resolved that she would reveal less of her true personality in future conversation with the residents of WillBe. It seemed that this man would be a little more familiar with the real Aeora - at least for the time being.

Luna Thorn ~

Luna decided to show off a little before she left. Her goal was the most important thing on her mind right now, but she walked out to the dance floor anyway, scanning the room, her eyes glimmering a brilliant blue. There were specks of green that could be seen in her eyes. Her eyes were quite enchanting. She grinned, and watched as a few men stared in awe, then seemed to shake their heads and walk away. She merely chuckled, looking for someone suitable to dance with for a little while. A few brave men came up to her and asked, but none of them suited her.

She had turned down about 15 different men when another walked up to her. This one, about 6'2" with black hair and amazing eyes walked up to her. She grinned and looked up at him. He smiled, and said, Care to dance milady? There was something about him that made Luna answer, I'd love to. She grinned and so did he, and he took her hand, leading her out to the dance floor. She was short compared to him, but her put his hands around her waist and she put her arms around his neck. They danced for a while, outlasting many other dance partners, but Luna remembered her task and sighed. She grinned and hugged the man, leaving him with a mysterious kiss. She simply grinned and waved, as the man looked as if he was going to fall over.

She chuckled as she walked away, going unnoticed, and walked out a side door Malice had told her about earlier. Earlier, when he had told her what she was to do tonight. She shivered with excitement, and her eyes flared a bright green. Her eyes glimmered as she slipped out the side door, making sure she didn't draw attention. She then lifted up her dress and ran so fast that no one would be able to see her. She grinned, ending in a small alley and finding the bag she had left there earlier stashed in the shadows. She grinned and looked around, making sure there was no one around. She took the jeans and tee she had been wearing earlier out of the bag and changed out of her dress and into this more casual outfit in a matter of seconds.

She grinned, folded the dress and placed it in the bag. She let her curls flow over her shoulders, but strapped a hair tie around her wrist. It may be easier to have them up later. She shoved the bag back in the shadows, took off her heels, and tied on converses that she had stashed in the bag. She made sure the bag was hidden in the shadows, as someone would be sent to pick it up later. A WAS, which she now was. She had told Malice earlier, after he had assigned her the task at hand, that she wanted to be part of the WAS. He had accepted her without much hesitation, and now she was off, to complete a task that excited her.

She stayed in the alley ways, a dagger in each shoe, and her pockets stashed with throwing blades. She twirled a ball of electrical energy and fire above her hand, grinning mischievously, her fangs glimmering in the moonlight. She was headed to the infirmary where Cirus lay in a coma, a grin of pure evil on her face. She was prepared, excited, and ready for anything. Yes, tonight was going to be a good night....

Clay's gaze shifted slowly from the finely dressed and masked dancers to the female beside him. "Truly?" That wasn't at all the answer Clay had expected, or, to be truthful, even close to anything he expected as a response to his question. The very fact that she didn't say something along the lines of "Oh, yes. Quite beautiful!" or some other childish remark on the grandness of it all actually intrigued Clay. He found himself wanting to know more about her.

Normally, Clay would have introduced himself before continuing, but since anonymity was more or less the name of the game at the moment, he held off from doing so. Besides, he thought, It'll be much more interesting trying to learn about her without introductions. A new, expectant grin tugged at the corners of Clay's mouth as he looked out at the dancers once more.

"If masks could speak, attesting to their 'honesty'..." Clay's voice had become touched with a speck of longing, almost as if he'd wished that were possible, "What would they say of their owners' nature? What would mine say of me?" Only half turning to the woman, Clay gazed at her only from the corners of his eyes, intrigue dancing inside them, as he spoke his last question. "What would yours say of you?"

Before the man next to her posed his questions, Aeora's eyes were drawn to his strange garments, which seemed to be producing a light, icy mist. Extreme temperatures did not bother Aeora overmuch, but nevertheless she found herself lightly whispering, "Interesting.." to herself. It seemed there was more to this human man than met the eye.

Aeora's eyes were drawn once again to the man's face as he asked his questions. She noticed that he grinned as he asked them, as though rather proud of himself for being curious as to Aeora's thoughts. She found this rather amusing, which changed to an emotion similar to intrigue when the man's expression itself changed from that of being pleased with himself to longing for the truth. She could respect such longing, if not fully understand it.

Her attention shifted to the dance floor, and the sea of masks. "People are not so complicated to read, if you know where to look," she said as she searched for appropriate examples.

She motioned towards a masked woman near the large staircase, entering the ball. "You see, the person behind that mask wants to instill a sense of unrest in others - the same unrest that they feel in themselves. No doubt this is unrest of identity, of being lost in a sea of faces. Such a thing as a masquerade is probably that person's most favored event, then. And maybe, secretly, even to themselves, their most feared."

For a moment Aeora realized that she was getting far too caught up in conversation for her liking, though she knew that she would not forget her purpose tonight and therefore was not terribly worried about the concept of speaking to this man for a while. She pointed to another mask, this one belonging to a rather fat man standing aside from the dancers, saying, "The man behind that mask is... well, he's overcompensating for something.

Aeora allowed herself the barest ghost of a grin, and that was all. Before it grew into a smile, she turned her gaze away from the dancers and to the man beside her. "Now your mask..." She paused a moment, her violet eyes hesitating over his mask. "You clearly have an affinity for avians. That means you have a longing for freedom, adventure, and excitement."

"And mine," Aeora sighed. She excelled at analyzing herself and her thoughts, though the majority of her conclusions were no doubt slightly more disturbing than such an occasion as this called for. Eventually she resorted to saying something that her mask did not truly tell the world, but that she knew of herself nevertheless. "Means I am attempting to live up to the expectations of humans here, by wearing shoes like theirs, a dress like theirs, and even a mask such as they wear." She knew that she was talking too much, revealing too much for her liking or what was customary for her personality, but when asked her thoughts on matters of psychoanalysis Aeora could simply not restrain herself from giving a full-fledged answer.

"Truly, it means I am simply wearing a mask."

Listening silently to what the woman said, Clay's eyes followed her gesturing, carefully scrutinizing who it was she had motioned toward. In all honesty, he thought she over-analyzed the simplicity that was a mask. Even though there were indeed times when a mask was more than a mask, Clay didn't feel that this was one of those times. Still, upon her mentioning of the fat man's mask, a small, dry chuckle escaped from his lips, despite trying to hold it back.

"Indeed.... He would appear to be overcompensating, wouldn't he?" It was barely a whisper and Clay was only slightly aware that he'd spoken before his attention returned to his conversation partner. The most interesting he'd heard her say, though, was that she wasn't human. Surely not as surprising as he'd originally thought it'd be, but it did cause Clay's interest to grow, if only by a tiny amount.

"Well... It seems my mask gives away more than I give it credit for." A small smile touched Clay's face while contemplating her final words. He was definitely enjoying the woman's exquisite company and her way of seeing things. Few things caught Clay's attention like the chance to engage in a friendly discussion as to the different ways the same item, or items, could be discerned as.

"However," he added, "I feel I must ask..." From where he stood, Clay leaned forward a bit, scanning the increasingly growing parade of masks flowing and floating across the room. His height definitely gave him an advantage, but he failed to see what it is he was looking for. Still, his head did not turn away from the dazzling show unfolding before him. "Why would you wear a mask simply for our benefit?"

"My mask does appear to give my true nature away, but..."
Spreading a grin, Clay turned to fully face his current companion, gently pulling off his mask to reveal his full face, his clothes, taking the cue, shifted and transformed to resemble the casual clothes he usually wore. "I, personally, don't need a mask for my nature, which you so perfectly and effortlessly deduced, to come to light."

Placing the mask back on, the icy clothes that enveloped him once again taking the form they'd originally been created for, Clay raised an eyebrow questioningly, having caught the sigh between her words, though it was highly doubtful that could be seen through his mask. "I guess what I'm really trying to ask is..."

"Why live up to anyone's expectations but your own?"

Malice

Arriving with his lovely escorts and looking rather dashing himself, Malice stood at the entrance of the ballroom with Lexus on one arm. Acknowledging the parting of the other girls and WAS members who had come with with a nod of the head, the fairy member seemed intent on scanning the sea of false faces. The expression of his face was impossible to tell beneath the full faced mask. Only the soft, green glow of his irises could be seen. Something appeared off as Malice's following actions seemed abrupt and without due cause.

Aideen's words, which were of a nature too sensitive to discuss within hearing of others, were ignored as the fairy took Lexus's hand in his and tugged her onto the floor with him without warning. Aideen would just have to find her own answers. Wrapping an arm around her waist and taking one of her hands in his, it was obvious he expected her to keep up with him. He didn't say a word to her as they began moving their feet, swaying, and spinning in time with the rest of those waltzing to the music. His green eyes seeming to pierce hers from the darkness of his mask suggested the thoughts he had were for her.

Cirus

Laying in his bed and covered in linen sheets, the injured Cirus rested. His breaths were soft and nearly inaudible to human ears. Quietly laying in bed with eyes closed in the infirmary of the IS HQ, he looked much weaker and feeble than his confident and dramatic displays would have audiences believe. Only the moonlight shining in through a window by his bed lit the room in a dim glow. He would never see the shadowed assassin that came for him. However, he wouldn't have to...
