"It could have been better." X said calmly to Raven, then turned to the others, "Congratulations on being the victors of this year's hunt. Feel free to split the prize money amongst yourselves however you please." he said as he pulled out the check for one million dollars.

Raven saw the check and smiled, though her real prize was being able to ruin lives....and this time, a little love. And she was going to train a victim turned vampire, Travis.

"Until you all decide how to split it, Raven and Travis will hold on to the check for being the most successful hunters." X said as he held out the check to them.
Travis silently took the check and looked at it.

Travis looked around at the other vampires as X left. He didnt feel like he deserved any of the money.

Ellie had been leaning against the railing, silently listening to X and then watching the others. Then she stood up straight and looked over at Karla. "Let's go." Then she headed over to the door to go back inside.
Karla silently followed Ellie.

Travis looked down at the check again. He knew Raven was right, but he still felt like he shouldn't get any of it.

Raven saw Ellie and Karla head back inside I guess they don't want any of it she thought Oh well, more for me and Travis.

Before Ellie went inside, she looked back at Travis. "You're going to need it. So you better keep it!" she said, grinning. Then she opened the door and went in.
Karla glanced back at Travis then went inside.

Travis looked up at Ellie and Karla, and realized why he felt like he didnt deserve the money. Why get paid for ruining the lives of the people you love? he thought to himself as he started walking towards the railing.
