I have to wake up about 5-5.30 to get my fella up for work. But then when he's gone, I crash out for another couple of hours!

He has it so hard, bless him. He has to be at work for 7am, 5 days a week, doesn't get out til 5pm and gets paid minimum wage.

He's actually only contracted (and I use that word lightly, he never signed such a document and was never asked to) 9 to 5, four days a week. But since one of the guys left, he's got to do extra hours.

He works in a butcher's too. A really physical job, lugging meat about, mincing stuff, sawing bones, all that jazz. So he has to do the work of a fully qualified butcher (he hasn't even been working there a year) and work towards the qualification (an NVQ in Butchery) he needs.

He works 50 hours per week. No lunch breaks, nothing. He eats hardly anything during the day. You know how much he gets paid? £200. You know why? Cuz they refuse to pay him anything over minimum wage until he's qualified.

That's why we're struggling financially. I'm sure there's some government legislation dictating this isn't legal...

This is ridiculous.

Yesterday my boss told me and another girl that there had been complaints about us being on the internet too much (except during breaks etc). Now I can understand the ones about the other girl, coz it's true, but the only thing I had was I left my yahoo email box open coz otherwise it logs you out and my name is too long and annoying to keep typing in.

So now whenever I go on a break I have to actually announce it to my boss! Seriously, I feel like a complete weirdo. There am I today, salad in hand, passing my boss in the corridor. 'Hey, I'm on my break now' *waves salad box*

I keep feeling like I'll have to eventually announce everything that I do. 'Hey, I'm going to the toilet!'

I remember my dad had one of those bags when he was in hospital. The bag was see through. It was pretty gross.


I'm so glum and sad now and I just don't know what to do.

I'm on this forum for Bonanza and it's really good, but yesterday the owner decided that she was going to delete the multilingual forums (Dutch, Spanish, German and French). She said it was because neither her or the mods spoke those languages and she had too much 'trouble' with the barrier.

Bullshit. There are plenty of people on there who could speak English just as well as they could the other languages and have been on there several years, yet she said that she didn't trust anyone except for the mods. How lovely of her to say that she trusts none of us.

Dear members, I have some news to pass along to you and that is to announce that the multilingual forums and the multilingual section of the fanfiction library will be closing.

This has been a very difficult decision to make and one that goes back at least a year or more when the moderators expressed concern to me because of their inability to moderate the multilingual forums. None of the current moderators speak any of the languages and so they have to rely on online translators to monitor posts. Because this was so time-consuming and because I was reluctant to close those forums down altogether, I allowed the moderators to limit their monitoring of those forums and instead to simply rely on the honour system for users of those forums to follow the rules.

But increasingly we are finding that this is not an adequate solution. If we do discover a problem in the forums we are unable to communicate it because of the language barrier. All in all, it's not a good state of affairs and in particular because we're not able to keep those forums aligned with the policies of the English-language forums, I feel it is time to shut the forums down. In tandem with this, the multilingual sections of the fanfic library will also be closed. I don't think these sections will be missed as there have been no new multilingual stories added to the library in more than a year.

I thank all the members who have participated in the past and hope some of those members will stick around and participate in the English forums if they want to and are able to. I know many people have commented how they enjoy the international membership we have and being able to communicate with fans from around the world; the change is now we will share a common language.

I'll leave the forums up for another few days for viewing, and to give you time if there are any posts you want to copy to keep, that kind of thing, before I remove them. Even in this announcement I feel inadequate, because I am not able to post the information in the various languages and for that I apologize.

This has been a hard decision and I know from past experience that some will object to the decision. But just like when I had to make the difficult decision to close the Jamie/Griff forum I ask for your co-operation at this time of transition.


That's what she said on it sad Understandable, the people in question are FURIOUS and all leaving the forums and requesting that all their images be taken from the gallery.

I also created a separate forum and told them all on the multilingual about it, and the post got deleted! So they're closing the forum, but it seems they don't want any 'competition' for a multilingual forum that will soon cease to exist! scream
