Amane smiled sniffing at the cake. "I think we have found our delicious dessert for later discovered. But you are right I guess.. small and simple steps to learn to summon something bigger than a simple squirrel or mouse. Though I think you want me to start early because your so eager to go adventuring yourself and on foot like how Felina did for a while" she guessed with a small smile. "I am sure I can at least ask him which summons are the nice ones and which ones are scary"
Hebal sighed happily nibbling away "Nothing wrong with a little pride. It's only too much when it becomes problematic. Like I see it as good to be proud of my pretty little daughter over there looking so grown up. Though out of interest what is it that bird demons tend to look for? Who has the brightest and most rainbow like colours and patterns? Or do you flap around and dance with them? I don't know these things. With us its all muscles if male of soft poofy fur for females that gets peoples interest"
"Well in that case the king has excellent tastes. Theres some really great spicy food over on this side of the table that would be good for you Alpha" Mu recommended having dived under the table already to make it to the other side.
Alpha nodded his head approvingly after spotting the food Mu had pointed out "Ahh I believe that is a curry. I hope its not too mild. Though you elves are way too conservative in general. Not known for being the most relaxed bunch of people" he added with a small yawn in a quiet voice to Hayate.

Felina groaned turning and pointing to a rather dashing white haired elf roughly the same age as Elithana "See that guy there. He was apparently the favourite though he's an absolute arrogant idiot if you ever try and get to know him. As for the dungeons I guess it would depend on who was provoking who. But lets avoid him so we don't have to come to anything like that I say"
Corella laughed "Before you came a long most of the untaken noblemen took an interest but that one over there just has the most influential parents and the most money to try and throw around. If you did knock the right noble down though I would pay your bail price and maybe pay you double that price for the entertainment value" she whispered.
Hayate groaned "I don't know how you can eat that stuff. I hate any food that's spicy and not refreshing in the slightest. Though some might argue that you demons are too liberal and ungoverned and could take a leaf out of our book a little. Though take it from me, my family and the clan they are part of certainly were not conservative"

Oassu grinned listening to Corella "Well I can think of worse reasons to knock out a noble" he chuckled "Still don't expect me to play some little insulting game all night, it's not something I imagine I'd be good at," he muttered
Jeckhart paused chewing on a mouthful of nuts while he thought of an answer "Well...it varies depending on the type of bird demon since not all of us are especially colourful to have patterns, my kind tend to favour neater grooming and dances and nest-building skills" he said a little embarrassed to be talking about such things "Do you like particularly muscular men?" he asked tentatively shifting aside in surprise to make room for Mu as she popped up beside him.
Zadina nodded "Don't be too eager, I'm sure there's more cakes and other desserts you might like to try before you fill up on that one but perhaps I am eager to travel with you again, though I imagine you'd like to start your journey soon as well" he said pausing as an elderly noble popped out of the crowd to shake Zadina's hand and bow to Amane. Zadina exchanged a couple words in elvish before the noble pulled out a small jewelled brooch and passed it to Amane speaking happily in elvish before he waved them on. "That's Lord Tasylia, an old noble who likes to bring along a bunch of presents for people on the dragon festival" he giggled "I said it was your first time out of the forest and he said you were very pretty and wished you a happy dragon festival" he explained as he waved back at the old man.

Amane gasped looking down at the broach in surprise "It's really pretty wow.. but then again I am sure it was originally intended for a richer person than me. Will you tell him sometime that I am most grateful for his gift. I've not really done anything to deserve it" she sighed wishing she could have said something back to him. "Bet he's a popular one though"
Hebal paused before nodding her head not having expected the question "Well yes I suppose. I mean I don't like them really really muscly but a nice six pack is always a good thing. Anything more muscular than that... well those people tend to be lacking in everything else like brains and personality. Though enough about me hehe. A place like this would be great for you to practice your dancing skills" she suggested.
Alpha snickered "Well you left your family so they don't count. Face it, you aren't very adventurous really" he teased going for some garlic bread "I wouldn't say we are all liberal and ungoverned. I mean look at the clan. The rest of us demons call them stiffs behind their back for all their habits. But as a whole they are a minority its true" he whispered so Jeckhart wouldn't hear.

Felina groaned giving Corella a playful nudge "Heeey don't go giving Oassu any bad ideas. If anyone starts causing trouble anyway then we have some security in place who will easily be able to remove all the trouble makers and perhaps do the punch up with good reason hehe" she said pointing to the tallest elf in the corner of the room keeping a watchful eye over the people he towered over.
Corella turned her head following her sister's gaze "Oh yeah... what do you know I forgot to say hello to him earlier. I'll leave you guys to eat a little while and bring some food over to those guys. They could use some good food for all their efforts" she told them before skipping round the table to pick out bits and pieces to deliver.
"She probably just fancies one of the guards on duty at the moment for her to be delivering food parcels" Felina whispered into Oassu's ear. "Still this is the perfect opportunity for you and me to move out and get a little alone time though lets not move too far away from the others."
Hayate frowned whispering back "Bit harsh isn't it? I know I'm not big on the clan though what they do isn't all bad. Besides lets not talk about people behind their back" while keeping his eye on the food and away from Jeckhart. We should take the time to ambush Felina and Oassu now nobody is with them.

Oassu chuckled "Perhaps she does need that little bodyguard more than she thinks" he replied watching as she hopped off to deliver food "Well perhaps she's not quite ready for travel if she's chasing after guards like a lovesick puppy" he shrugged turning back to eat his food.
Jeckhart nodded contemplating what Hebal had said "And sure I suppose it is but...I can't dance like a bird demon in this form sadly" he muttered "Besides like I said the Clan tries to adopt more traditional attitudes to romance from this world, less like what Alpha said earlier" he said having a drink "Still if you'd like to show me some Viera dances later I'd be more than happy to join in" he added.
Zadina nodded "He is quite popular being a nice friendly person but I'll be sure to tell him" he said "We can go thank him later if you like" he said pausing as he spotted the King and Queen up ahead in their chairs "Do you want to go talk to the King now?" he asked excitedly

Hebal scratched her head in thought "Umm sure I could show you some viera dances as best as I can though most of them require larger groups of people to be done well so don't be too disappointed if there aren't many that I can really teach you later. Though in return you have to teach me something about your culture at some point. Could do that anytime though"
"Well if you guys need numbers to make one of your dances work I will join in. I'm sure it could be a bunch of fun and then it isn't as embarrassing for each other if we do badly" Mu cheerfully offered curious as to what viera even did short of prancing.
Amane paused watching them eat "Sure if they don't think I am going to be in the way I can gladly sit and have a chat with them though you can grab their attention for me but first..... There. hope this looks ok. Now Lead us on and maybe let your aunt see Merric." she suggested having pinned her new broach to her dress.
Alpha nodded "Well now is as good a time as ever and will leave us more time to enjoy tonight and will give me an idea of how much to drink I can have tonight. Don't want to have too much and have to leave the flying to either you or Zadina" he remarked shuffling back over to the couple. "Hey guys, now most of the group is preoccupied mind if we discuss tomorrows plans?" he asked.

Felina smiled scratching her head "Well I suppose it is nice that she is looking out for others who aren't from as fortunate in upbringing as us even if the motive behind it is a little questionable. If she goes travelling I can image her having a lot of female bodyguards there to scare off as many men as possible" she laughed almost jumping as she spun around to find Alpha directly in front of her face. "Oh certainly Alpha. We aren't entirely sure where would be best to go so all advice is welcome"
Hayate sighed "Well you are probably not going to like it anymore than I do but the plan is if you are willing to go ahead with it is that we will be going Brilho desert. We would need to go there anyway for one of the items and we might get a few leads there. Also if we are going to have to go through an area with a plague that could last potentially for a good few years, best we enter just after going to a place ie. here where we can prepare and get vaccinated beforehand." he explained for Alpha while the demon emptied the contents of his mouth to speak.

Oassu grimaced "Through a plague!? That sounds like the kinda thing we should steer clear of, vaccination or no, what about the others who aren't here to get vaccinated to whatever it is going on down there?" he asked not fond of the idea.
Jeckhart scratched the back of his head "Certainly I'll teach you more if you like sometime on the ship" he promised "Though I'm sure our customs aren't anything too special or something to be celebrated, mostly just a lot of showing off, bird demons considered themselves some of the most noble kinds of demons being able to fly and such back in their height" he said.
Zadina nodded "She does like little Merric but sure, your brooch looks pretty" he complimented her before leading her up to the King and Queen. "Hello Auntie Alu and Uncle Ellie" he said bowing politely before them as Merric popped out eager to see all the shinies on their clothes "You've certainly put on a great party Uncle and little Merric wanted to see you Auntie" he said freeing the Chicobo a little.

Alpha nodded "Heh thought you would react like that but we would have to go there anyway and it could be years before the plague clears up. Anyway I already spoke to your father about the issue and he said he was willing to give us medical supplies which includes a few vaccines for us to use and some spares and other medicine. So really, we would be doing the locals a bit of a favour also with all the spare supplies" he argued.
Mu snickered "Sounds like you bird demons would fit in well with all these guys then. But hey, all demon cultures have their own interesting little bits to them. Its just sometimes you have to look a little bit harder for them"
Hebal cheered happily "Well its settled, at least the 3 of us can do some viera dancing later. And I don't know about being noble but I would say you are some of the more graceful looking ones I have seen. And sure we can do that on the airship sometime provided Im not napping hehe. Going to be a lot of flying tomorrow I am sure"
Amane shyly bowed trying to imitate Zadina "Good evening your highness. This is certainly quite the event you have managed to put on tonight. The palace looks really. Also I hope you are feeling better Queen Alusaadi. You seemed a little on the tired side earlier"

Felina groaned "Well I guess its nice if we are able to do something like that for the people in the desert suffering from the plague though I still can't say Im too thrilled with it. But I guess we could get it out the way.... and I hope you didn't hassle my dad too much to make some sort of agreement" she quietly added worried Alpha may have made a bad impression.
"Hey I'm not exactly too fond of going home as such. Though I will admit that unless you have some majorly good leads as to wear to go next. It is a destination that I would strongly recommend considering" Hayate advised. "Also if Alpha caused a huge hassle. He wouldn't be allowed to walk around in the palace at all"
Elorin looked up and smiled "Ahh Miss... Amane was it? I am glad that you are enjoying yourself. Though you give me too much credit for a lot of people worked very hard all day and night to make this place look suitable for such a grand party. This sort of occasion is not my forte" he modestly explained to Zadina.
Alusaadi smiled managing not to jump in surprise at Merric "Oh I am feeling fine thank you. It's nice to be able to talk to people more. Everyone has been so busy with the festival the past couple of days that it has not left many people with time on their hands to keep me company"

Oassu frowned "Well sure I guess if there's enough supplies to go around, didn't think plagues were so easily cured" he said still somewhat uneasy with the prospect "Does that mean where we are going there's going to be dead in the streets and the like? Can't imagine Hebal or Zadina will like that much" he muttered pouring himself some wine.
Zadina nodded moving up to give Alusaadi a hug as Merric hopped into her lap "I know auntie, that's why I thought we'd come up and have a nice chat with you since I'm not home much these days, Amane has been wanting to talk to you anyway uncle seeing how you are such a famous summoner. Will Bahumut show up later?" he asked eagerly.
Jeckhart blushed slightly "Why thank you, it's nice you think we are graceful but yes it'll be a long trip and I'm not especially fond of being cooped up inside, I might spend most of it on the deck" he said helping himself to some cherries.

Alpha shook his head "Nope... not unless we all decide to openly walk around in areas full of sick people which we wouldn't really need to since most of the trip we will be going out of the populated areas anyway. Im not going to lie and say theres enough supplies to wipe out the plague but there should be enough there for the most vulnerable of patients with the lowest chances of surviving without it to go for a good while. Its a good start though, apparently once recovered from it you can't catch it again. Oh and also will be easy enough to arrange a roof over our heads in a plague free zone."
Hebal stopped covering her mouth to hide a quiet burping noise "I don't know what I will do. Possibly have a nap and a catch up with Mari when she comes back on the ship and I suppose it would be a good opportunity to sit and paint some of my armour or make some new gauntlets. May as well be a little productive in that time."
Amane's ears suddenly stood up "Yes that's right I was wondering if I would be able to ask you a few questions about your pilgrimage and your time as a summoner if you don't mind your highness. You don't have to answer all the questions though for starters I wanted to know how you found your pilgrimage... was it exciting or scary?" she wondered edging closer to Zadina,

Felina sighed scratching her chin while she thought out their options "Well if you are sure that we can really be of any help to them... I suppose we could go there if you think we could really help. But I don't want us staying there any longer than we have to so no time to explore or shop. Just go in get what we need and leave if possible. And provided it is ok with Oassu."
"Well I am familiar with the area and know where we will need to be to find the antlion nests if that helps. The one perk of coming from a barely inhabitable country is that nothing ever changes around after centuries except slightly bigger sand dunes" Hayate assured her.
Alusaadi nodded returning the hug being careful not to crush Merric in the middle "It is good to see you when you are home and I must say you have both grown taller and have gained more muscle since you headed out travelling. I take it Felina has been looking after you well?" she asked while her husband was preoccupied with Amane.
"It was a little scary to start with. Also unlike yourself I was pushed into summoning by my father so I did not start with a positive attitude. However with time I came to like it. I made some good friends and you really get to bond with your guardians" Elorin answered cheerfully. "Some of it was hard work though. You will get to see Bahamut tonight but the right to summon the great dragon king is not easily earned so I would recommend that you save his temple for when you are a well established summoner."
