Piper rolled her eyes. "Fin..." Shaking her head lightly...it was at least to have a kidder around sometimes, seeing as these could be tense situations and such. But a look around...hm, this place was looking less and less inviting. Piper wrinkled her own nose. "Somehow I get the feeling that we're not alone." What kind fo thing lived in an air temple? Something with wings most likely...big bird...dragon...griffin...hippogriff...the possibilities were as such and probably much more...what with adding in underdark beasties. "Need to keep our eyes peeled in any case...because I want to leave here alive."

Zykariel climbed up next to them and laid his head against his mother's arm, sighing. "Maybe if we do our history he'll be happy again?" He'd been happy when they had done their math and had just been ruffling Malikhai's hair. What had happened?
"I doubt it though it probably wouldn't hurt." Zahara took a deep breath and attempted to calm down slightly. Malik had gone too far that time and she wasn't going to stand around and listen to him say such things around sensitive ears. "I know but he's not mad at you. He's mad at someone else and he misses your mom a whole lot. Sometimes when people really...li- love someone and they have to go away for a while, they worry about them so much that they get angry really easy. But it has nothing to do with you, alright?" Petting through his hair gently before reaching over and doing the same with her son. She didn't know anything about bonds or the scratchy feeling in his head, just knew he knew what Malik was feeling, which should be even more reason for Malik to watch his fricken emotions.

Malvolence sated, Malik stood in his place, wiping blood and sweat off of himself. he was infuriated, how dare Zahara question him on anything to do with his son. but he let himself take a few breaths, and counted in his head. had to calm down. emotions effected more than just him. something to distract him...Khavier. see if he's gotten a response yet. that'll distract enough to not want to feed Zahara to a swarm of carnivorous ants.

That sounded like a good idea, daddy always did like it when he did his work and got it done without goofying off too. But for the moment his attention turned to Zahara as she was trying to soothe him with motherly reassurance...oh boy he was missing mommy something fierce again. But he knew daddy was just like that when mommy wasn't around...it's just how he was. "Alright." Taking up his history book from the bed and intending to read all those pages...if daddy asked him something well he'd be right ready to answer then. Or maybe daddy just needed a snack.
Speaking of Khaiver...he had indeed recieved the little contract back with revisions, and another little note as well...though that one was duely tucked away. But he didn't go running for Malik right away, for he was in the midst of his own plotting and thinking. Hm, how best to breech this subject...

Malik knew where Khavier was. a simple relay through Malvolence told him that. interesting that his latest ace in teh hole was because they forbid him from wearing it in Council. he didn't mind Sevilin looking arodun either, and knocked on Khavier's door.
"any news on Mahlari's response?"

Zahara watched the boys for a while, listening to them read aloud to each other which was what they had decided on to finish it up. That way they both gor the material at the same time and yet one didn't have to do all the work. It worked out quite nicely at times didn't it? Though a disturbance in the hallway caused her to ruffle both boys' hair and move to the doorway. "What's going on?" The answer had her eyes widening and she turned on her heel and raced back into her room. "Come on boys. We need to go. Now. I can't explain so please don't ask questions. Grab your books and let's go." She grabbed little hands and walked as fast as she possibly could. "Sevilin? Sevilin!"
He blinked at his mother, he'd never quite seen her like this. "What's goin' o-" Cut off as soon as she said she didn't have time to explain. So now his little legs were being put to the test as he was practically running to keep up with her. "Daddy!" A glance at his friend and he mouthed, "Do you know what's going on?" Malikhai had people talk to him in his head after all...maybe someone had given him the message.

Hm, did he want to fork over news or not to Malik...might as well, there was no way two messages back and forth were going to get this done. "You have your chians and your message to Rainsong. However, she'll give you only one vial of her blood and two of her sister's. Though the blood comes with self protection condistions. Anything you do with it, should it be in retaliation can't be turned back on Andal. She's takes care of her realm, despite what people think. As I said, trees need roots. Care to revise that deal furhter?" After all, he knew why Mahlari didn't want to give up her blood.
He grabbed his book and was quick to follow up, because it seemed that they were supposed to stay with Zahara. But a look to his little friend. "I dunno. No one told me nothing." Interesting indeed.
Sure enough he popped up, practically out of nowhere next to her and gave her a shushing motion, then proceeded to talk in a whisper that had that serious tone to it. "Don't go screaming my name about the place like that! Khaiver's here, did you forget already?!" Ha ha...paranoid.

She jumped, quite startled at his sudden appearance and shook her head. "If you would stay where you were left, we wouldn't have this problem. But I had to find you because of Khaiver being here." She pulled the boys forward slightly and gestured to them though the excitement fairly gleamed in her eyes. "Fyleshin's about to foal and I need to get out there. They just gave me the news that she went into labor. Piper's not here so I have double the job and I need Keely. Has anyone seen Keely?" Glancing around for a moment and grabbing a random slave to have Keely fetched if she wasn't already out there. "You want the boys or can they come with me?"

Malik crossed his arms lightly.
"Only one vial of hers, eh. and a no turning her blood into a weapon to be used against andal by me. sounds reasonable enough. however, due to the lack of one vial of blood, and I know the value intrinsic to such an item, I have a single addition to my price. the silk gland and spinnerets of a drider, cut out with a specialized tool I will send back with your zephyr."
Snapping a finger to a slave and they went to get the tool, and returned with the curved dagger inscribed with Innoruuk imagery and incantations.
"This has to be used. or the drider body part is useless. and by her hand, being as she is a highly favored priestess, is she not?"

"Staying put is bad." Giving her a look and crossing his arms, before little boys were thrusted over to him and he took thier hands from Zahara. "All that fuss over a horse...honestly. I'll take the boys, you go do your horse thing whatever." Up the paranoia a notch since he had little ones now.
Keely skipped down the stairs and came to stand next to Zahara. "I'm right here, ready to help." She was always prompt, wasn't she?
He tilted his head as if he was confused. "Drider..." Seemed like he was thinking on it a moment. "Oh yes, a drider...not something found commonly in Andal if at all. A Lloth thing...we Obsidians are Cafellian, not Llothian." A slight shrug. "I can send word back to her, see what she can do about it, but no promises." A smirk at Malik. "And before you say it, yes Cafell is similar to Lloth but not interchangeable."

"Cafell is a diety in relation to Lloth. the creation of a drider shouldn't be too much trouble. and if a drider cannot be found, use a giant spider. something that has a gland and spinnerets big enough that the gland would take two hands to hold and the spinnerets about as thick as a finger."
A slight smirk.
"you've been fairly quiet in your room. contemplating something perhaps, since you have all the time to yourself without a woman yanking on your chain?"

"Gotcha, should be no problem them." Taking the dagger that was brought and he flipped open the paper, writing down the rivision to it and then flashign it to Malik so he could see he wrote exactly what he was supposed to, before wrapping the paper around the dagger and in a breath of wind, blip it was gone.
A light shrug from him then. "I'm capable of enjoying quiet time to myself and for my own thoughts." Though a dismissive gesture of his hand on the matter of his chain not being yanked but a distastful look as well about the comment. "You enjoy making the low comments about that all, don't you?"

"Yes, actually, I do. because I've seen what drow can really do, when such useless theocratic things are thrown out. when it is not a priestess that holds the power, but whomever is cunning nad powerful enough to hold it. be that priest, warrior, assassin, shadowknight...whatever. a religious monarchy beats and theocracy everytime."
looking Khavier up and down.
"wouldn't you like to see a time when Mahlari and those like her can only command you if they have the power to truly command. not simply because of a fluke of sex at birth. our king was one of the most deadly warriors to walk norrath, and his queen was an equally dangerous wizardess."
gesturing for Khavier to follow him.
"while they had a loveless marriage, as most of our kind do. and there is always deceit and treachery and backstabbing...when they worked together, they were a powerful and potent force. by uniting and using skill and cunning as our methods of success the ones in power were the deadliest and most intelligent. after all, the only way to get the top job is to go over the corpse of the one that held it before you."
"you, for example. are a masterful assassin. but as Mahlari's favored, none of the other assassins would risk her wrath by trying to usurp your position. which means your skill can only really be tested by using them on missions. and on andal, those are not quite plentiful I imagine. On Norrath, our assassin guild leader could be assassinated by any of his own students if they had the skill, and the gall, to try it."
leading Khavier to the armory.
"I was a general in the Lodge of the Dead. the shadowknight and necromancer guild. and because I had to constantly be aware of those under me as much as those around me, I am a very deadly opponent. and can defend myself in positions that many would fial to simply because they can be caught offguard by things that I had to plan for and expect."
also convinently leading him away from sevilin and the children so sevilin cna get them where he needed to without Khavier getting so much as a glimpse.

He got himself up and followed after Malik, more or less just listening as he was being told Malik's ideals...or the way he thought things worked better than how they currently were in andal. He'd let Malik talk and he would listen, and snicker in his head. It was funny to listen to people talk of which they didn't know.
"You think no one tries to take me on for fear of Mahlari? Quite the contrary...everyone is looking to claw thier way to the top. I happen to be the top...I have my fair share of assailnts...they just haven't upped thier games enough to bring me down." A small shrug, he killed himself one just last week. "And there are plenty of things to do...we have wayward to corrall in, others to deal with...have to watch the desert and oasis as well...you seem to think that we are idle and happy in our little places in the women's laps."
Indeed he was the one to usher children off, though they were getting suspicious as to why they were being cooped up constantly with a parent, perhaps a little whiny about it. But for right now they were more or less behaving, and the three were currently in Sevilin's room, him having found something to occupy them with while he was busy still being paranoid...and babysitting.

"no one of your caliber. no one that has a chance to hone thier skills to the same degree as you. corralling wayward and such is child's play to you. and the desert and oasis are not nearly so dangerous or in risk of any kind of assault and you know it. no one dares to try thier luck. not only do they risk the drow, but the crest. they'd have to be mad, or from Requias."
turning around to face him.
"How many missions are entrusted to lessers when she knows that you are her favored and you've had the time and extra training to make sure you are capable of her needs? how many have had half your training, half your chance to learn and gain experience. how many assassins have come for you, and not merely other male drow who want your slot."
folding his hands at the small of his back.
"I don't think you are idle and content. I think you are wasted and those that claim power over you are weaklings. I could best Mahlari with relative ease. even with her priestly power. my only concerns would be her runemage sister and you. and perhaps the brigade."
"You're intelligent, cunning, and adaptable. traits I found equally useful in Sevilin. and Sevilin could easily carve his own empire into this realm, but he is bound by blood fealty to me. I don't think you'd give a damn about the Requias elves, because you know thier insignifigant. thier numbers aren't large enough to be a threat, no one trusts them outside silvercrest, adn they are even less potent due to thier docile attempts to blend in. the Depths could crush them if push came to shove and Silvercrest didn't intervene or the Crest."
"you also, would know the value of working with your neighbors rather than trying to undermine them. Mahlari fights of Requias in a pointless conflict simply becuase she wants to have the 'wayward' under her thumb and more surface territory. I, and you, I imagine, would throw them to Silvercrest and let him try and play peacekeeper between Requias and everyone else."
"You are a Drow, and I know you have pride and rightfully so. but you don't have a fool's pride. pride born of arrogance. a slaves pride is more potent. becuase your pride is for what you have done, and know you can do. it's not about position and appearance."
