Alpha smiled letting out a low whistle "Well you certainly pulled out all the stocks for this event. Crown and everything there is no doubt about it that you are a member of the royal family... makes me wonder if Felina will have one too. Anyway I am rambling, we're here to take you to the party."
Amane smiled shuffling about at the sudden sight of Zadina "You look very nice and really regal in those robes. Almost makes me feel like I should have got more to go with my outfit" she greeted Zadina stroking the back of his cloak. "Ooh feels soft too like fur. Will keep warm in that for sure"
Hebal snickered watching Amane's reaction "Well you two make a great pair and I would like to think that the rest of us all look pretty good in our party outfits too even if not as fancy" she told him twirling round to show off her own dress.

Felina shrugged "She will probably be able to come to the party. She's long past morning sickness phase and is the equivalent of about half of the way through her pregnancy. Plus she has been sitting around all cooped up in the palace from not being allowed to do anything so she will be itching to get out of there and take control of things. Apparently dad found out she was pregnant just after the whole fiasco in the dwarf tunnels." she explained getting up off the bed to slip on her heels. "I think it is safe for us to go to the party now. There will already be a good number of people settled in"
"Alpha is right, we were getting ready and the party started so we thought it would be a good idea to go to you guys instead of waiting for you to get back" Hayate explained moving to the door, taking a peek outside to try and catch a glimpse of any guests running late on that floor. "Sorry to disappoint you and your love of shiny things Alpha but the crowns aren't that valuable and just for show so you won't find much gold to be had out of them" he joked after listening to Alpha's mumblings"

Oassu smiled "Oh finally time is it?" he said sitting up with Cid and standing up "Well I'm sure she'll have a great time as well, especially if she's so eager to go an ensure everything is running smoothly, lets just hope your dad has done a good job of organising everything or else she'll flip" he said wiggling his own shoes uncomfortably.
Zadina smiled "Oh don't be ridiculous Hebal your dress is just as lovely, I assure you some of the nobles tonight will have went to that same shop you got yours from." he reassured her applauding her little twirl "And Amane you look really pretty too, you fur is super shiny and soft" he said petting Amane's ears "And these ribbons are nice too" he remarked as they began to move off.

Amane hung back waiting until everyone else was slightly further ahead before giving her hair and ears a good shake "My fur actually feels pretty weird with it all looking like this. It's like there is a really big breeze coming from somewhere. Though I do like how it shines and how straight it is" she mumbled stroking her ear fur.
Hebal giggled having a sudden thought "Hey could you imagine the look on all the nobleman's faces if we were to tell them where we got Jeckhart's outfit too. bet they would all struggle to understand the idea that a marketplace could have such amazing clothes hehe"
Alpha groaned "Hey all gold is good for my collection whether good gold or not and besides should be lecturing Oassu on that for I'm not at the level of trying to steal gold from people. Its a long way from here to the getaway airship too" he joked back.
Mu on the other hand scratched her chin "So why do you wear a crow if you are not the king? I always thought stuff like that was saved for him or the next in line" she asked.

Felina stopped noticing Oassu's behaviour. Would you like me to see if I can find you a bigger pair of shoes you can wear instead of those if it is going to make tonight easier for you" she offered wondering if she knew any spells that could possibly help short of shrinking his feet. "Though my dad is fully capable of running a country so a party should be no bother in theory"
"Ha I think Oassu has had enough of the lectures already and its not like he would get the privacy to do anything either. Though on the topic of airships, what are your plans for tomorrow? Will probably need to head off early tomorrow morning if we are to pick the rest of the group up in good time" Hayate asked while he remembered.

Oassu shook his head "If this it the fashion I guess it'll do fine, it's just a little uncomfortable but bearable" he said wiggling his feet once more "So long as they look fine but I'd say both of those things require different skills but we'll see how your dad does" he said pushing himself off the bed with Cid.
Zadina nodded "I agree having such products in makes me feel funny too, like my hair being curled like this is unpleasant for me but it's suitable for such occasions" he sighed "Though your fur does look really nice at least but lets hurry along to the party" he said hopping on to the others "And there's varying degrees of crowns Miss Mu, the royal family all get crowns but the King's direct relatives will have ones encrusted with jewels and the like mine is just a little gold one." he explained deciding not to mention to Hebal that Jeckhart's outfit definitely stood out as sub-par.
Jeckhart blushed slightly "It's alright Hebal I don't really intend to cause a stir or anything at the party tonight anyway I'll be happy just keeping quiet in the corner somewhere." he mumbled slightly.

Amane let out a sigh of relief untying the ribbons the moment she thought they were a good distance away. "Ahh that feels better. They were so tight they were starting to block my hearing. Though I don't think that your hair even needs curling. It was more than fine as it was" she told him unsure where to leave the ribbons.
Hebal gave Amane an amused look taking the ribbons from her "You should have just said earlier they were bothering you silly and then wouldn't have had any at all" she whispered tying them up around her own ears. "Don't just sit in the corner either, its supposed to be a fun night afterall" she added to Jeckhart skipping back up the steps.
"Must cost a fortune in crowns if they give you that many for not being direct family. No doubt they will need to make significantly more when Felina and all of her siblings think about having hoards of kids. And what about anyone they marry" Mu continued to ask.
Alpha hesitated "Well we are going to head off extremely early. Maybe a couple of hours sleep after the ball then more sleep on the coach back and on the airship for the rest of the morning/day. Everyone is probably going to get a messed up body clock from changing time zones. Need to ask Felina and Oassu first and if all goes to plan I have a flight path arranged."

Felina reached out and grabbed Oassu by the had so to lead him straight out the room in an instant once he securely had Cid "I would say its transferrable skills. Having to work out finances, keeping up public appearances and managing teams of people to make things work as they should. Just think after tonight you can dress right down and we can work out what new adventure to go on. Not entirely sure where we need to go so guess worst case scenario we pick somewhere at random"
Hayate groaned "I bet the sleeping schedule is going to be a hit with everyone. Though Zadina's place should have a carriage that can take you to the aerodrome at that time. Means that Zadina might have to put up Oassu and Felina for a little bit though so best to check that one out first"

Oassu nodded "Sure, though I'm not quite sure what's still available on the list but we've made some good progress already what's the remaining options for us to go on?" he asked thanking the servants standing outside the door for their time as Felina dragged him off down the hall.
Zadina giggled "Well you look lovely even without the ribbons, though they look nice on your mother as well" he complimented Hebal as they walked "Though once people get so far from the throne they probably might not get much of a crown, perhaps a necklace or something or a set of rings with a royal crest" he said somewhat quietly to answer Miss Mu "My crown was actually made for my father, but it goes to whoever is the ruler of Loweena house at the time which falls to me" he explained "This is my own symbol" he said indicating the gold pin of a book clasped around a sword like a bookmark that he used to hold his cloak in place.
Jeckhart nodded "I'm sure it will be fun Hebal, I'm just nervous as I've never really attended grand parties like this before, I've always just watched from a distance for reconnaissance for these sort of things" he explained to Hebal.

Hebal politely nodded her head in understanding "Yeah I sort of know what you mean. I rarely got invited to parties ever. Always been too much of an outcast in viera societies to attend the big parties though nothing like this one. And the ones in the dark association always made me feel uncomfortable and a bit afraid so never went. Which means when I do get to have a party even if I don't do much or don't know anyone I really try to enjoy it" she explained back.
Amane leaned forward examining the symbol that had been pointed out "Oooh I see it. It's a nice little symbol and I bet Felina's crown will have a pretty symbol on it somewhere too. Even if the crown wasn't made for you it suits you... and your father was a prince once so its only natural it looks really fancy"
Mu smiled watching a group of guests bow to Zadina before moving on their way through the large doors to the great ballroom "Well it is a nice crown and I think I forgot that your father was the kings brother. Might have a fair few little trinkets about tonight then though I feel bad for the person who is the first in a family not to receive anything"
Alpha shrugged "I see it as no major issue, if need be I can sleep on the floor at Zadina's and you don't sleep so one less person to worry about. Though if everything does go to plan and we head to the desert ... is this going to be the first time since you left that you will have been there?"

Felina paused "Honestly I don't know. I'm no expert on rare artefacts and items believed to be somehow linked in legends to immortality. Might be time to sit the group down once we have gathered and ask for their advice/more well travelled knowledge. Otherwise I know a very good elven city famous for all the old books it stores that might be able to give us clues worst case scenario. Unless of course you have somewhere you really want to go too first?"
Hayate sighed nodding his head "Well yes and no. It's not the first time I have been back there but Stalt will as close to where I grew up as I have been. Shouldn't be too much of a problem so long as everyone keeps their heads down and away from the desert elves business though. Besides, we'll be going to an antlions nest anyway so wont have much time for others"

Oassu sighed "Doesn't sound like a very fun adventure, I doubt Itaka or Seph would be fond of sitting in a library pouring through books but we'll see what comes up, perhaps Hayate has some idea being close to Elorin" he suggested glancing further down the hall as he heard the faint sound of music.
Zadina nodded politely welcoming the guests in elvish as they bowed "Yes I'm sure Felina will have a lot of fancy little things being a princess though I wonder what my little cousin is going to get being heir to the throne" he giggled "Probably showered in gifts, I imagine the nobles must be bringing plenty for him and the queen today" he said as Merric poked his head out of his tunic curious to see all the noise before Zadina hushed him back into his robes "I couldn't exactly leave him all alone, not at that age" he whispered to Amane.
Jeckhart nodded patting Hebal on the shoulder "I understand but I'm glad you didn't go to whatever sordid events the Dark Association had planned for you but you are right, you should try and enjoy this as much as you can, it's not every day you get invited to a royal ball after all" he said smiling slightly.

Hehe I can't wait to see the look on Oassu and Felina's faces when they see we're also at the party and then that Zadina got himself a new pet as cute as that one. Though next year I will be glad for a smaller party with just close friends. we've only just walked in and I feel tiny by comparison to this room" she added gazing around the giant ballroom they had just walked into. "Could fit an army in here"
Mu snickered "Well I actually think that was probably partly the idea of making such a big palace in the first place. That or they might have once upon a time wanted to be able to house large guests like my dad or even larger demons than him" she guessed.
Amane laughed petting Merric "I would keep a close eye on him, he's been out your robes for two seconds and he was already eyeing up your little crown there. Though I wouldn't trust him not to cause mischief if left alone in one of them fancy bedrooms"
Alpha nodded his head understandingly "Well Im sure people wont make a scene though not sure if you can completely avoid the other desert elves. Though what do you know about antlions? Think it would be easy enough to get what we need off them fiends? I know a little of them but not their nests."

Felina shook her head smiling "No I can imagine that Seph, Itaka and Hebal wouldn't be too pleased at the thought of having to hit the books all day. Zadina would probably like it though. But hopefully the older and more experienced group members may have an idea. I think Seph knows a fair bit about old treasures and artefacts. If that fails maybe I can just get dad a little drunk so he spills the beans" she quietly joked.
Hayate scratched his head "I know that their nests are easily mistaken with quicksand so its always a good idea to test with something before trying to climb into an unoccupied nest. Apart from that they are highly aggressive and when they do and don't leave their nests to find food or other resources I effected by lunar patterns. No idea what phase the moon is in right now but if we're lucky they will all be away when we go. If unlucky we will be having a bit of a struggle"

Oassu smirked raising an eyebrow at Felina "Didn't know you'd be so devious but yeah, I think Hayate might know a thing or two more as well being close to the king, might be worth a shot asking him" he suggested "Though yeah I think we've got little to no chance of asking Hebal to read books successfully" he sighed.
Zadina giggled tucking Merric in tightly as he heard an announcer in the ballroom announce their arrival in elvish as a number of the nobles turned to applaud them Zadina inclined his head politely and uttered thanks in elvish before they turned back to their previous conversations and activities. "Though I doubt that was the case Miss Mu, every king has made their own adjustments to the palace but because of the lifespan of elves none of them have really thought to be accommodating to demons, too many bitter feelings after the war" he explained as he led them around the edge of the ballroom to the buffet table.
Jeckhart blinked in surprise at the brightly lit ballroom his eyes and ears adjusting to the new sounds "Well it's certainly as grand as you'd imagine a royal elven ball" he said noting the magical coloured lights hanging in the air. "Though it seems most of the royals aren't present yet" he said spying the empty thrones at the top of the room.
