Amane froze a second when she realised they were about to part ways "Umm ok the I'll see you soon and I'll try not to cause trouble and keep quiet should I see any other guests" she mumbled shuffling away into the other room.
Alpha nodded his head stretching hid legs out towards the fire "Yeah more than likely since bagging yourself a princess is about as easy as it gets if you want a power trip and a bit of cash. Hopefully if Oassu has any sense he will be using tonight to score a few friends amongst the nobles... probably that already married ones at that."
Hebal frowned trying to think it over. "You know if that's the case we should totally stick together or pretty close to each other for Oassu might need a helping hand or a little bit of support tonight. Make sure none secretly hire some assassins or something else mean like that"

Hayate nodded "Yeah I am sure there will be one or two people able to keep an eye on Oassu if not the king because he has so much on. I think there will be a few spiteful nobles but I think that the smarter greedy ones will have started turning their heads towards Corella already. If he screw up really badly I'll find an excuse to get them out the ballroom at least" he assured Hebal.

Jeckhart smiled "I doubt anyone would go so far as to hire assassins to deal with Oassu, especially at such a public event where so many things could go wrong" he said having a drink "Though I'm sure he would enjoy the company of friends rather than nobles" he added.

Hebal nodded "Yeah for sure all the noble people tend to be all serious and grumpy and usually never want to have fun or hug or dance around with me. Total party poopers... with the exception of Zadina of course" she stated skipping around finding herself to be a little bored from waiting around
Alpha looked away starting to feel dizzy watching Hebal circling them "Hey relax I am sure your dress wont be much longer. But yeah I agree nobles really aren't pleasant to be around in general. Was pleasantly surprised with Felina's family. Pretty much the only exception to the rule I have met so far. Though I'm sure your dad isn't so bad either" he quickly added to Hayate.

Hayate raised his eyebrow at Hebal "Would you like me to arrange some entertainment while we are waiting around? Its easily done, especially if you have an idea in mind" he offered finishing off his drink. "Yeah I know where you guys are coming from though usually its just what we call 'blood nobles' that are the problem here. The ones born with privileges and spoiled as children. The other kind however are usually pretty nice and have common upbringings like my dad. They just don't tend to mingle with each other most" he answered trying not to be too defensive. "Plus Elorin has spent more time with normal people than most kings because of his pilgrimage."

A small knock on the door signalled the arrival of the servants. Getting up to answer it Jeckhart was greeted by several elves who bowed deeply upon arrival "Good Evening guests of Lord Zadina, as requested we have brought you your clothes for this evening's ball" they said as they shuffled into the room to gently lay the dresses on the bed "If there is anything else you should require please don't hesitate to call on us" the head servant said as they bowed out of the room.
Jeckhart thanked the servants politely before closing the door "Well you needn't be so restless anymore Hebal, though you could always have went with Amane and Zadina for their beauty treatment if you liked...not that you need it" he quickly added not wanting to offend.

Hebal cheered bouncing up to grab her dress before skipping off behind the screen eager to chage "Oh Im not onne for beauty treatments. Most of which are probably fake too all claiming to make me look ten years younger in appearance but that's not going to happen anytime soon hehe. Not that it bothers me... now what was that about your dad? Does that make you technically a noble too Hayate" she giggled.
Alpha scratched his chin but let out a small sigh seeing the servant disappear before he had the opportunity to experiment with a possible room service. Hmm... Amane's dress is missing... must have taken it down to her already. Though maybe we should force all spoilt little rich nobles onto pilgrimages to straighten them out. If they survive" he suggested with a snicker.

Hayate paused managing to tell the servants a polite thank you before they hurried away. "The poor staff probably have hundreds of jobs to try and work through well into the evening. Hope they are getting a substantial bonus for all the work. And in answer to your question no. The only thing that has changed for me is that I have been given a pay rise not that I really need it. Your dress looks nice by the way. I hate it when people opt for them big gowns that take up half a room in space"

Jeckhart nodded approvingly as he watched Hebal "You look lovely Hebal, the dress was certainly worth the money, I suppose it won't be long before we see Amane's dress too" he said with a ponderous glance at the door as he finished his orange juice "Though would seem harsh to put nobles on pilgrimages Alpha, but I suppose King Elorin's case is one where they did help. One of our Clan accompanied him on his voyage so it's a well documented trip" he added.

Alpha paused taking a good look at Hebal in her dress "You look very nice there. But yes I think I have heard Felina mention that in passing along with another elf or two and a male viera. Didn't think it was that well documented thoug. Still could be a pretty good experiment to try on the nobility."
Hebal smiled watching herself in the mirror happy to be receiving a sudden wave of compliments "Thanks guys. And yeah I don't like those big poofy dresses because they look so restrictive to move around and definitely couldn't jump well in them. In fact the only good thing about them is you can hide another person under there" she agreed with Hayate before moving away from the mirror to behind the counter seeing that Alpha was watching her. "Ooh yeah the king was really lucky to have an angel with him on pilgrimage, I bet he/she really pretty. The male viera surprises me too since they can be so barbaric"

Hayate nodded confirming what Alpha had said "Yep, two elves a viera and an angel. Very nice people from what I have heard though I never met the viera since he passed away just after I moved over to this side of the world. Heard he was alright though and pretty smart. You should try meeting male viera more often as they really aren't as bad as you think so long as you don't invade their privacy." he recommended.

Jeckhart gave Hayate an uneasy look "I'm sure not all Male Viera are quite as bad, but the tribal ones have some pretty barbaric-sounding traditions all the same" he said smiling seeing how happy Hebal was "Though yes the King was lucky, we heard all about it how Sunica tried to steer him back on a good pass, figured considering how long elves live for a lecherous selfish one wouldn't do good in the long run" he said pausing and hanging his head quietly "Though I probably shouldn't say that here" he mumbled apologetically to nobody.

Alpha shrugged "I don't think there will be anyone too offended unless people are eves dropping on the lot of us. Bet she had a hard time at first since angels tend to be pretty good looking and the king was apparently a bit of a womaniser back in the days when still a prince" he snickered.
"Well I think its safe to say that the king is doing an excellent job of ruling now at least and managed to produce three lovely and moral daughters too" Hebal responded playing with the ruffles in the bottom of her dress. "Oh well I am in no hurry in the slightest to go spend some time in a male viera society. Just one day was hard enough and I only really made one friend and now I have Amane no reason to really"

Hayate shrugged "Well suit yourself then I guess. They just look grumpy on the outside and take a bit of work to make them relax a little. Ones that live in mixed viera communities are also completely different.. though females are definitely in charge" he joked trying to ignore Jeckharts last comment. "Yeah the king turned out to be an alright guy. I heard the horror stories about him pre pilgrimage but I was still kid when he was travelling. Guess his own dad made a good decision shoving him out in the world with nothing but a couple of people to show him some survival skills. He was apparently quite the outdoor type for a king"

Jeckhart tilted his head a little curious as to who Hebal's 'friend' was but decided not to press the issue "I wonder if it was Elorin's decision to become a summoner then, or whether his father decided it so he would go on the pilgrimage, surely there would be other ways to train the King apart from that if it came down to it then" he pondered placing his empty glass on a bedside table.
