confused
He vanished upon her first attack. He was trying to use the trick she had used on him, but in a different way. He was going to come from behind or above now- it was the only two locations from which a counter could happen upon a trick like that. Thinking quickly, she drove her weapon into the ground instead of going for the second stab, turning the entire weapon into mist so that she could manipulate it easier and lifted herself upwards, her arms braced and her legs swinging forward...
Come on, work! Please!
gonk
Just as Ruuvan appeared behind her.
If she had stabbed or kicked upwards, it would have been over- with his strength, the blades would have pierced through her armor. But now, she could only hope that she guessed right, seeing as she couldn't see for jack. But her mind was best in tactical situations like these- the only luck she would have to rely upon is if the choice was wrong.
Upon his reappearance, he would see the blade driven into the ground and his weapons headed towards it... then feel her greaves ramming into his head as she came sliding down the pole with her knees bent so that the front of her calves would slam into the top of his head.

Just as he reappeared on the other side of her, and she had done the mist trick to leave her spear in the ground where his attack was aimed, Ruuvan slowed the swords down and turned them so the blades faced downwards; the guardian wasn't coming from below, he would've been able to see it, so he had to assume she was coming from above him, but why turn the blades down instead of trying to impale her? It was a simple matter of surface area and force applied. Simply letting her fall onto the swords would cause them to be moved by her armour and cause no damage while leaving him open to an attack, so he had to use his own modifications to the swords - not that Dante hadn't done a good job, but he needed an insurance policy against armour.
Once the NightVisor showed the arrow pointing upwards to show she was coming from above, as he first thought, Ruuvan thrust the handles of his weapons upwards until they were mere inches from contact with the falling leg armour, more precisely her thigh sections. Moments before they dropped onto his head, Ruu flicked a switch on the handle and sent a stiletto blade up from each of the grips at quite a speed. These small surfaced weapons along with the speed they came out and the weight of her dropping, would surely allow them to penetrate the armour and stab into her thighs about 3-4 inches (the handle is 6" long with a 2" inch spring mechanism and 4" blade). Ruuvan's undead strength and Elven speed would mean he stopped the thighs before hitting his head and added to the force behind the stilettos - all things pointing to piercing and general pain.

Okay this would be fun.
Her weight would be coming down fast, but there was a reason that her legs were bent. As soon as she saw him raise the backs of the weapons, she figured there was something going on. Otherwise, it would not be a strategicly sound move. Then she saw where his thumbs were and grinned down at Ruuvan. Not today!
Her hands were loosely gripped on the shaft as she came down, with her full weight, with her arms loosely bent as she came downwards towards his head. So then, before he flicked the switch, she pulled herself towards the polearm and wrapped her legs loosely around it, sliding the rest of the way down as if it were a fireman's pole.
If her legs were extended, this movement would have gone a lot slower... but the narrator digresses from the fight.
Before she hit the bottom, she swivled around the pole in a clockwise motion with her right leg extended, going for a back hook kick to either his head or his left side, depending on whether he was standing or crouching. Despite her position, she moved hard and fast, with enough force to potentially break a few ribs- or at least wind him for a while.

She may have avoided his 'up'n'under' armour piercing attack, but how would she stop herself mid turn whilst only holding onto the pole loosely, especially since she had just dropped and her weight was behind the attack. There was no feasible way in Ruuvan's mind, unless she did the whole mist thing again, but why not just get the fight over with?
Seeing her retract her legs and no longer be in range of his attack, Ruuvan spun the swords around in his hands so the blades were up and armour pierces were down. His NightVisor was still working a charm, giving a readout of the Guardian's muscle movements and showing what moves she had planned; a backwards hook kick at some point in his body - a move with her weight and momentum behind it so it would be harder to stop. Taking those things into equation, Ruu levelled the piercers, thus turning the swords on their side, to face her oncoming legs. He would of course apply his own strength to the strike and meet her movements, so it would have another combined force and thus penetrate the armour... if it hit anyway.

Two things happened.
The incoming attack was not stopped... but her armor was pierced anyways. A crack and a thud was heard as her heel impacted with the side of Ruuvan's head, and the clang of metal piercing through metal was heard as well, not to mention the sound of flesh being torn.
With the force of her kick, Ruu should have been sent flying a good few feet while she grimaced and winced slightly. With the revolution complete, she settled onto her feet again, favoring her left leg slightly. She shifted her weapon's form into mist, thus removing the need to pluck it from the ground and leaving only the rut in the ground to show that the weapon had impacted.
The wince turned into a grin. Hit for hit, eh? That was all right- she liked a challenge. And besides- she had another trick that she could use. Her mind blocked the complaint in her leg as her eyes closed and her left hand shifted to the gem while her right hand tightened her grip on the pole.
Once her left hand reached the gem, it rested lightly on it... and the blue gem activated, turning the entire weapon into a liquid form. Pouring her very will into the sapphire, she had the weapon change shape and form...
And in no more than three seconds, it had changed into a 40" long dao with the blade a good 32" and the gem imbedded in the bottom of the pommel instead of the blade itself. The two-handed, 35 pound sword shone an eerie blue...
And the gem began to shine as she walked forward, largely ignoring the pain. She'd live for a bit longer, though she was damaged.
"Not bad! You're my kinda guy."

Yes, it's pierced! Oh cra--! The two sole thoughts that flew through his mind up until the heel impacting on the side of his head, indeed sending him flying about three feet backwards and to the side, but safely away from the Guardian as she morphed her weapon into a pretty big knife.
Ruuvan had risen to his feet almost instantly; the kick having been normal, but he figured that the eerie blue glow about her weapon meant something bad for his undead form. Fighting Maximos, and other light magic users of course, had taught him that anything glowing would be bad for him, even whilst in this protected form. From now on, pain would be felt normally and attacks would effect him like they would a human, but he'd still retain the strength, speed and agility this form provided. "I guess that would make you my kind of woman, though I've never been beaten around by one so much." He laughed slightly and smiled at his adversary, really getting into this fight and loving every minute of it, "And I must say that's a pretty knife you have there." A little joke, both lightening the mood and admiring her newly formed weapon - now it was his turn on the offensive.
Ruuvan started walking towards the Guardian, slowly at first before breaking into a slight run, his lips not moving but his mind already starting a spell that he would launch when the time was right. A Guardian would be able to see he was casting some magic, but the physical glow of his necklace in his right breast pocket would give it away to a normal person, but it would only give away the fact it was a light based attack. The NightVisor continued working away, locking on her muscles and the sword as he got closer, ready to indicate when an attack was coming. Once close to the tip of her sword, Ruuvan slashed upwards, feinting with his right swords whilst keeping his left one low as he continued to move closer. The feint would hopefully draw her sword away giving him and open shot at her chest, at which he would get low and shoulder barge, but he figured she'd mover her sword in time to stop this, which is where the spell and second sword would come in.

Neither.
She stepped to her left side, thus making the blade whiff completely and putting her out of range of the other sword. And yes, she could see the spell being formed perfectly well. Which is why she had one of her own. Upon settling herself after the evasion, her blade would come down on his right shoulder. While he was in so close of a proximity, the blade would bite into his shoulder... but that wasn't the attack.
The attack was done during the sword stroke. A pressure wave made entirely of water would move forwards, knocking him clean off of his feet and sending him five to seven feet back and giving her enough space for her next assault.
The pressure wave would, in fact, hurt quite a bit... this was a force of nature being used as an attack. The water particles in the air had been drawn towards the sword when the gem started to shine, thus charging for the attack. Once the blade was swung, the attack took shape and form... and WHAM.

Then she moved, allowing both his strikes to move past her with little effort put into her move, quite foolish on Ruuvan's part really. He had left himself open to all forms of attack, and he was bout to encounter two of them; the first being the sword coming down onto his shoulder and the second being the jet of water hurtling towards him. It was either stand there and take what was coming to him, or use this build up of light energy to formulate some kind of protection - and that is what he did.
Seeing both his attacks so easily dodged meant something was about to happen to him, so he finished the spell in his mind and erected the protective shield of light he had learnt way back in the days. It sued to drain more out of him back then, but he had since learnt to conserve his energy, thus allowing him to cast more spells. So, as the envelope of light engulfed his body in what could only be described as a shimmer light layer, the 32" sword would seemingly hit an impervious obstruction and the water would smash against his form. Though stopping the blade and the pain that came with two such strong attacks, the jet of water still pushed him back those seven feet from the Guardian, but a smile was now on his face as he knew he had evaded a very painful attack.
On the defensive again, as he sure wasn't going through that, Ruuvan slowly prepared another source of light energy and waited for the Guardian to come at him; right sword high and the left one held low, a sadistic grin now planted on his face as he waited.

KLANG BOOM
Ruuvan actually made ruts in the ground from the attack, showing the force of the manouvre. But as soon as he was sent skidding back, she came rushing forwards full tilt, her entire body a blur! Her gem was charging again, glowing brightly. A quite content grin was on her face as she prepped for another attack, the gem shining brightly as her energy focused into the sapphire.
Whatever happened next would definitely do some harm.

There was a sudden change in his aura, if one were able to see such a thing, as the Guardian rushed towards him with that remarkable weapon of hers. If she were able to see it, which Ruu assumed she could, it would've changed from the pure white light of his gathering magic to a thing black envelope swirling around his body. A few more moments of gathering this energy, and with the Guardian closing in on his position, Ruuvan was ready to launch one of his more brutal dark magic attacks.
As she approached, his form would begin to vibrate; not his body, but it would appear as if two ore more copies of himself were in the same spot, creating a very strange sight indeed. Then she was in range. Just as the tip of the 32" blade came close to her, he vanished in much the same way as his shadow walk from before, only this time it would be a directed burst of dark magic that went straight for her eyes and swirled around in front of her face, blinding her from his next move. He reappeared to her right, much the same way as when he appeared at her rear, and slashed out with one of his swords in a horizontal motion across her midsection. This was not the move. Once his sword had past through, either cutting or missing, he would disappear again and reappear on the opposite side, using his other sword in a different directional slash - you get the idea. This disappearing and reappearing act happened about ten times, each attack a different side and height using the swords alternatively, each time he left a cloud of black was left to blind her further, not to mention build up the shadows for him to use.
Ruuvan could fell his energy draining away with each part of the strikes, but he would be strong until the end of this fight. Regardless of whether or not his attacks fell upon the guardian, his last teleportation took him over to the centre of the platform, holding his swords low and swaying ever so slightly due to the decrease in his energy, where he waited for the darkness to clear. He would see the large cloud of black where he once was, unable t see the status of the guardian until it cleared after a few seconds of him being out... what happened to her?

She did indeed notice that the magic was incoming, and grinned wider. Another tricky-trick? Well, she had something for that, though she didn't know what he was going to do. But anyways. She rushed forward, the gem shining. When she was almost to his position, she shot a cloud of mist forward in order to impeed him from seeing what was next.
Of course, it wouldn't cover everything, but it'd be enough.
The gem was still glowing, however- She hadn't even done the move/technique yet! It happened once he moved, though. Once he did though, she reflexively dragged her hand through the cloud and... from the mist came another dao! But at the same time, the first dao shortened by six inches, for a total of 34" to match the other one. They were the same broadsword, save for the fact that one lacked the gemstone. She needed balance for this...
And not a moment too soon! She might not be able to see... but she could sense the aura of magic. Therefore...
From the right!
CLANG
The sound of steel meeting steel sounded off, and a flash could be seen from the cloud of shadows, as if a thunderstorm had brewed in the place where they now were. He came from the left- another flash. Three, four, five... It were as if lightning flashed within the makeshift thundercloud. And all Ruu would hear besides steel against steel was...
"WHOOO-HOO!"
When he re-emerged in the center of the platform, he figured it would take her a few seconds to recover. It would take her less than that as the gemstone began to shine again... but she held the weapon in a reverse grip and behind her back to mask the sheen. The other sword was a facsimile of the original, though it certainly cut like the original. And it would last only for this one attack...
She grinned. This was probably one of the last attacks for this round.

The shadow cloud cleared and the Guardian was... still standing?! In the name of the Lightbearer! Ruuvan shouted out in his mind, sighing heavilly before adopting his normal stance; right sword high and left sword low. All of his main attacks had failed against her and now she had two frickin' big swords instead of the one. Most men in his positions would have their p***s shrinking, but he was only focused on winning his prize and defeating this warrior. "Come on, let's get this over with!" Ruuvan shouted out at the Guardian, smiling weakly as he waited for the winning strike or his impending doom.

"As you wish!"
She turned around, revealing her true weapon... and flipped it over, correcting her grip. The gem was far too bright now for a mere technique... Then, after a full clockwise turn, she cut downwards with her mirror blade and upwards with the blade behind her, quickly moving it from behind her back before the complete turn.
This move released two, side-by-side cresent shaped blades of high-pressure water at him. The attack would move forward by 20 feet/second- roughly translated into really damn fast. But that wasn't it- she vanished soon after, taking her mist form.
Milliseconds later, she reappeared to his right and behind him, cutting with one blade now. The false sword had expired itself, but the move was still on. Another direction, another stroke. Four... five... six... seven... eight... nine... ten!
Twelve cuts, two from straight on. He now had several blades of high-pressure water incoming to cleave him in half several times over... if this was truly his last ounce of magic, it had better come in handy.

Ruuvan started to mutter an incantation, hopefully summoning the Lightbearer to his aid - he needed the Light's help. Even though they were in a cave and there were no signs that anyone could see the sky from hear, Ruuvan could hear a rumble of thunder sounding in his mind, almost as if someone were trying to get through to him. No, it was something different; someone was giving him the power he needed. The NightVisor had picked up on the Guardian about to perform two simultaneous slashes, but she was too far away for them to hit so he had to assume something would be launched at him. It was at that time the necklace in his right breast pocket began to glow even stronger, vibrating slightly within the Kevlar. Strength slowly started to return to his legs and arms, causing his posture to change into a more upright stance, but he was still watching her attack.
The Lightbearer had granted him the strength needed to finish this fight, if not last that little bit longer, so he smiled as the water started coming from all direction. It was as if the Lightbearer himself had taken charge of his casting and formed the defence instantly, utilising both the light and dark magic at Ruuvan's disposal. Twelve crescents of water needed twelve blocks and that is what Ruu did. In an instant, six walls of pure light and six of shadow erupted from the ground and into the paths of the water, absorbing them into the magic before fading from existence. The whole fighting platform lit up through this spell, Ruuvan standing in the middle of it making him look positively divine, but it was extremely draining on his system.
Ruuvan fell onto one knee and looked up at the Guardian, a weak smile put on his face. The necklace's aura faded from the breast pocket and took the illumination from his face, the light levels returning to normal. He had just taken one hell of a mental beating, but he was still getting up into his stance again, shaking weakly and staring down his opponent. "Very... impressive, Guardian." He huffed out the words, stumbling backwards slightly as he prepared for, what could've been, the final attack from her.

She re-appeared in front of Ruuvan twelve feet from his position, her breathing labored. She was finally feeling the strain that she had put on her right leg earlier- it was starting to throb and sting again. She needed rest... she needed energy... she needed...
Needed... to shout out for joy.
THIS was a fight! The others couldn't even get past her chamber guards... and the man that had made it through once, a long time ago, was nothing compared to this. Though back then, she had figured him a worthy opponent. But now, here was someone who was probably worthy of some kind of merit. He was drained, she was just starting to sweat. Their difference in power levels right now was still leagues apart.
But then again, few could make this warrior work as hard as she had now. That attack was one of her big ones!
She ended up grinning instead of having a most serious look on her face... then she laughed. Loud, long, and merrily.
"The gods be praised, if they still live! I've never felt so free in my life! You're one tough fella, I'll grant you that! As a reward, I'll give you everything I've got in one attack. You deserve it. Yes, I know you're tired... but you can do it! At least, I hope so..."
The gem embedded within the pommel of her dao began to shine, the light increasing in intensity. Brighter, and brighter, until it changed the hue of the room entirely. She then raised her weapon... and all at once, the surface was shining with five norse runes on each side. The waters on all sides of the scarred and bruised platform receeded and drew towards her blade...
And it transformed once again. Shifting shape and form, the pommel transformed- became straighter instead of slightly curved. The blade grew longer instead of wider, and yet a slight curve still remained. The end of the pommel had a golden depiction of a Japanese dragon with the gem imbedded in its mouth, and the ivory handle was wrapped with blue and white bolts of silk.
Once the transformation was complete, the weapon had turned from a dao... into a 42-3/4" katana with a 29" blade and a 13" handle. The blade was crafted from damascene wootz- it looked very much like the water that had formed it. In addition, the gem and the blade both shone a bright, sky blue.
She grinned wider. It was time for the show!
"You ready?"
