They're a first founding Chapter.
Look closely on the chart in the SM codex that details the first founding chapters. Notice how two of the chapters are missing. And there's your answer.
Their Primarch is called Gabriel Ragnarok, or he was. The current Chapter Master is called Gabriel Taralis. There's a story in there somewhere.

Well, I know they haven't being done before as the guys at my games workshop were impressed that I made a really original name and were suprised that it hadn't being used before. And they couldn't of being destroyed as I made them, and there's no mention of a chapter called the Arch Angels ever being destroyed.

Unless you're the same guy, and did away with the whole winged idea. It's been a while since I looked for those posts. MY chapter hasn't been done before. I can guaruntee.
