Hello, I'm Jordyn, and this is my 6th year playing clarinet. I'm in grade 12, in a small town.
My band is a very small band... Nothing really exciting for us when it comes to competitions. We don't even have a first chair, and what not... That's disappointing. We don't have a marching band... Ummm... Yeah mad d

hey fellow clarinets... I'm Allison, and I'm an eighth grade clarinetist. I'm sixth chair in concert band, and third chair in Harmonium Instrumental Ensemble.
My band director IS a clarinetist, so that's nice when he keeps saying "look at those lousy flutes... we are NOBLE CLARINETS!"
jokingly, of course. 3nodding rofl

Our current co conductor plays percussion...tho she claims I'm her favorite clarinetist o.O a[since all state recordings its been like that...] along with my 1337 percussion friend's little sister who plays clari XD

Hey everyone! I play clarinet... Jazzically (oh noes, he plays jazz... Like Benny Goodman! Get him!)! I play clarinet as a double in jazz band and hopefully by next Saturday I'll have made my classical presence know by making Honor Band.
BTW, I'm a sophomore in high school at LVA. I've been playing sax for six years (oh noes, saxamaphone!) and I've been playing clarinet for about half a year... But it wasn't that difficult of a transition.

by the way, just curious have you ever listened to copland's clarinet concerto? Its pretty fun to listen to...i've never played it yet...so yeah...
> biggrin i listened to your clarinet recording on your thread, I fear I might get burned for no apparent reason so...decided not to post  but you have a wonderful vibrato x3.
In other news...

I'm still increadibly new to the clarinet scene, so I haven't heard of almost any concertos. But I'm getting help from one of the greatest high school clarinetists in the world, Mike Dee... He's so awesome...

Please hold still while I strangle you and take your place. stressed Just kidding! I've been having rants of various degrees to get Fearless Leader to let clarinets in jazz band, but to no avail. He just says, "If you want in jazz band, Nevira, you can play alto sax, tenor sax, guitar ((inner me: WT*Navi*?!)) or percussion." stressed

We have to double on clarinet, flute and bass clarinet. So we all play sax (mainly, except the most amazing sax/clarinet who was origianlly a clarient). But yeah, the only way you're getting in a jazz band is if you play sax AND clarinet. 3nodding
