She heard Roy digging through his bag of dirt every now and then, as she still felt Etna's piercing gaze upon the two of them. She wasn't sure what to do though... She had plenty of chakra, or so she thought... she didn't quite understand why she only sparked at the base of the bulb. Several pulses went by... she could see Roy holding the dirt in his hands, though her head was turned away. Another pulse, Eta was turning her head to glare at the boy some more... Another spark at the bulb. Shoot... I'll... have to practically shut down, won't I? I hate not being able to see. While shuiro tried to focus, her way of 'seeing' was diverting the chakra she needed to push into the bulb, pulsing it all over the place making her fingers spark up. So... she held the pulses in. Naturally a pulse was released with every heartbeat, and holding it in was sometimes dangerious unless she closed the storage chamber inside her to keep more from flowing... but she needed it to flow... just not from everywhere. This was going to take a lot of concentraition... Closing her eyes, cuz there wasn't anything to see anyways, Shuiro released her chakra from the fingertips that touched the bulb only. Holding in so much at once and releasing it only from one small point sent the bulb glowing... for about ten seconds... By the time it went out, she was somewhat out of breath... A short term light like that wouldn't do at all, she had to control herself better and only let chakra through in smaller incriments now...

(Alright, thanks for the notice. XP)
Shuiro let out a deep breath in a swoosh... She gathered up her chakra once more, keeping it from flowing out of anywhere but her figertips that held the lightbulb. Like before, it was quite difficult, the feeling inside of her was almost explosive... A small groan left her lips as she let chakra slide out, bit by bit, into the lightbulb. The glow was faint at first... but eventually it grew and grew with more chakra she pushed out. Every once in a while, it would go dim and then light up more... but she should have gotten credit for keeping it from going out. After all... this was control beyond what she'd ever tried before. "Almost... almost there..."

A bit more of the sandy grit between his fingers began to vanish. Once more he began to look around but saw nothing moving nor anythign falling. The sand was still there, the weight was still basically the same but he did notice one thing, it was starting to center towards the middle of his hand. A thought to test this came up. While holding his hands completly tight, he began to roll his hand around to see if he felt anything moving and sure enough a bit of something began to shift inside his hand. Whatever it was, it was solid but small. Most of it was still swamped by sand in a few seconds.
He looked over to Shuiro. SHe was kicking up quite the little electrical spark storm but that seemed to be about it. Even she was having problems but then again, this wouldn't be classified as an A rank diificulty if it was that easy for a bunch of kids to do it. Of course, he couldn't really use her as a reference considering, according to Etna, her element canceled his anyway if done at nearly the same power. Although, it would be nice to train against her later. Only way to make one stronger is to work their weaknesses. He had no clue what he'd do for a weakness that was born into him but he'd figure something out. Roy looked over to the cat for a moment and then decided to try and get a bit of advice.
"Oy... ummm Etna. How exactly..." his words were slow. He wasn't sure exactly how to ask the question and to make matters even worse, just as he began to continue, the cat raised her paw and began to lick it innocently enough. However, Roy saw the malicious intent in this as he noticed that her claws were extended and gleaming in the light. He figured now wasn't a good time to ask. A hard swallow followed and he turned back to the area before him. He sighed deeply and began to focus his chakra again.

Taking in deeps breaths, Shuiro was able to lower her heart rate, thus drcreasing the normally rapid flow of chakra she usually had. Less puylses made it easier for her to control herself, and very little sparks were made around herbody from lack of flow everywhere else. Holding up the lightbulb, slightly higher than before, as if putting in a great deal more concentraition, the blind girl evened out the lighting of her bulb and kept it going. "Alright.... " Turning over to look at a very blurry Roy, she turned to gaze over where he shuddered away from. A small black blur was there with one seemed like... was that a paw? It looked like a little black twig with a rounded tip protruding from a small black lump. She felt the chills as she turned her gaze away and set the lightbulb down, letting it's glow go out. I'll try with another one now...

Piece by piece, grain by grain, the sand began to vanish between the boy’s hand. His brow was covered in sweat and his eyes were strained a bit. This was a far harder exercise than he ever intended it to be. He could never have imaged that he’d have gone through this much hell just for chakra control. Of course, he figured that if the cat was so demandent of this it had to be one hell of a skill to learn but the annoyance of it was starting to wear on him. He wasn’t even sure if he’d be able to get it all done. After all, this was a jutsu that the cat admitted could take years even for a veteran of ninjutsu to master. That was a bit disheartening to be perfectly honest.
A hard sigh left his body as he looked up to the sky. Again, his mind began to wander as he glanced about and then up to the sky again. He felt little urge to go on right now till he glanced over. He glanced to the girl with no sight…she had been through hell because of it obviously but yet she was till here. He blinked a few times then grunted to himself. If nothing else, he couldn’t live with himself if he lost to a girl. A new sense of determination filled him as he again flowed with his chakra.

The loss of concentration caused him to pay in terms of his ability. He felt a few more grains of sand slip back into his hand. The grit and shifting of it was a little aggravating. The sand particles were too fine to cause any serious damage but they were more than enough to bite into his hands and cause some serious agitation. He could only imagine the color of his hand now. After all, he was already red skinned but now he was probably a deep crimson. What a depressing thought really.
Shifting a bit, he continued to grasp his hand tighter and clinch down. The sand bit into his hand a bit more and the sand that had transformed to solid bit even worse. He gripped for one last moment and let out a deep growl as he pushed his chakra onward.

An exhausted sigh left his lips. The head of the cat turned and looked to him.
“That’s enough. Lets see how you’ve done.
He release his hand. It took a few moments for him to actual uncurle his fingers. It was partly out of fear and partly out of having clenched his hands to tightly. Once done, the first thing he noticed was his hand’s color which was, as he predicted, a deep crimson in color. Thankfully, this wasn’t from blood but just from pressure. He noticed several flakes of skin that were almost cuts but not quite. His eyes seemed almost to avert his product. The very reason for his labors.
In the palm of his hand lay a perfectly formed stone. There were still several grains of sand here and there but overall, the rock was completely formed. He looked to it for a good moment and shook it around in his hand. Nothing came loose. His hand became heavy as Etna landed on his arm and batted around the stone. She grinned and hopped off the boys hand.
“Good job boy. I expected less of you.”
Such good words from the cat. She began to walk off and looked back to him then to the sand bag. She was letting him know to keep going. He stored the stone away into his pocket and moved up to the bag again. He gripped another handful of sand and began again.

The grit, the sand, everything was so familiar yet so fresh and new. The sand was even a bit cold compared to the heated stone he just created. He knew it was a result of his chakra being pumped into the stone and sand and the fact that sand holds heat fairly well. Either way, it didn’t matter. He simply smiled and began the process once more. His chakra pumped through his arms like normal and he began to push harder and harder to move his chakra and form it.

A good flow of energy pumped into his hand and into the rock. He grunted a bit as he didn’t expect that much chakra. His chakra control was a bit off right now. Still strained from the last bit. Of course, he had a good deal of chakra to spare but this wasn’t exactly your common chakra training now was it. A sigh left his lips as he looked to the sand. A cold chill ran down his back as the cold thought that he might be forced to do all that sand. What a disturbing thought. TO make matters worse, his imagry of the cat as a torture queen came rushing into his mind as well. Cold chills continued but he had to work through them. He knew that if he let his mind get distracted and lost focus, he’d screw up and if he screwed up, all these images would come true.

A deep rush flowed over his body as he got ahold of the chakra in his system and moved it to his hands. He looked over to his partner and saw her trying her best to light the bulb but she was having as much trouble as him. He couldn’t focus on this right now… after all looking at her would only disturb his own train of thought and he wouldn’t be able to focus at all. Those double D’s had some sort of magical effect or something. He was almost positive it was a form of genjutsu. A soft chuckle left his lips as he pulled his chakra to his hands again and focused

Yumi had received notice in the form of a letter that she had been assigned to a squad.....Team Etna. She bubbled inside and was especially eager. But after the intense training with Giglamesh-sensei she wasn't sure how to react to being with new people. She had grown accustomed to his ways and that would be kind of what she expected from the members and leader of her team. She made her way up the plateau to where the other people were gathered. She shifted slightly and tried to unsuccessfully hide her awkwardness. She looked up to the leader of the group. She slowly handed the letter stating her assignment to the group.

Roy looked over to the girl that had come up...what was her deal? She was coming out of no where and seemed almost afraid of everyone there...
Wait...hadn't he seen her before? He arched a brow and moved to take the paper from the girl and looked it over. Yumi...why was she so damn familiar... Of course, he could have meet her about 5 billion times by now, his memory was shot to hell anyway. Either way, he couldn't figure it out till he looked her over once more, "OH NOW I REMEMBER! Your one of Gig's do-girls aren't ya?!"
A sharp yip filled the air as something black flew across Roy's back. He fell to one knee, still holding the sand mind you. The black objected ended up being the cat that was in the area.
"So your the new slave hmm? Oh well, 1 or 1 million, matters little to me.." the cat said licking her paw. "Well now girl, your a new one. What's your element? What do you focus on? SPEAK!" the cat was a bossy thing.

Yumi was still kind of uncomfortable in front of the new group. She let out a very small smile confiming Roy's comment about her being one of Giglamesh-sensei's students. Although he phrased it quite differently. She hadn't learned any of her elements as in practice yet but she was aware of what they were. Her main was was earth. She looked shocked at the presumptuous nature of the black cat that had jumped up onto Roy. Yumi spoke firmly even though her nervous-ness. She was Giglamesh's student after all and she had to have some sort of strength in her or he never would have accepted her as a student. "Earth Element." She said sharply, but with no attitude towards the words. She stood there with her two wakizashi's at her sides that Giglamesh had given her. They hung about an inch from the ground due to her heighth. It would look sort of awkward seeing such a petite girl hold two good sized swords, but she did. She added that about her practice with the wakizashi's. "I am working with these as well." She said plainly to the cat, trying to show her respect. She placed her left hand onto the appropriate wakizashi.
