Leyenda giggled. "I can imagine. Familiarity is always welcome, even if it's not something that's your favourite."
Herself, she was glad to be somewhere with actual buildings again. It felt almost like home, except that everyone looked different and spoke a different language. But at least the basic elements were the same. Not that she didn't like Kelirahc's people, they had a good way of life: but it was just comfort in familiarity.
"Anyways," she murmured, "you should pay for that, and I would like to talk to the artist about a custom bag."

"Right," Lin grinned.
With that she headed to the counter to pay for her new bag, maybe she would get Rhea to rune it. Though Lin was also considering maybe learning how to do so herself one day.
Though, where would she find the time to do that?

Alena was still chatting with the boy who was behind the counter, but as Lin approached she stepped back so that Lin could pay for the bag, watching with interest.
The boy straightened as Lin came closer and smiled brightly at her, his green eyes sparkling brightly.
"Hello!" he greeted her warmly. "All set?"

Setting the bag on the counter Lin nodded, "All set, it's all very nice."
She smiled as she reached into the other bag she had carried with her from the ship for the pouch that would hold her coins. Not hard to find she was pretty good at finding things in her runed bag.

The boy smiled at the bag that Lin set in front of him and held out his hand to her. "Ten styl," he requested.
For a young boy he was quite businesslike, rather serious, and Leyenda, looking on, wondered how long he had been keeping the shop.

"Uhm..." Lin held out a gold coin not sure of it's value here.
She had always been painfully aware of the price difference between Gaia and this world. She knew a gold coin was a lot but she was seriously not sure how much was ten styl.
"Would you take this coin?" she asked.

The boy blinked at the coin that was being offered to him, and stared, and blinked again.
"Is that ... gold?" he asked, amazed. He reached for the coin and held it in his hand, examining it closely. "It's so pretty ..."

"It is," Lin nodded.
She knew it was rare but still it was interesting to see such amazement over the metal. Though she supposed it would be like her interest in their coins.
"I only have metal coins," Lin explained.

The boy looked up at Lin, his eyes filled with worry. "I don't know if I can take it," he said anxiously. "I've never seen one before, and I don't know if my Mama would allow it ... or how much it is worth ..."
How much change would he have to give? Or would more than just one coin be enough? He had no idea of the worth of gold, how could he make the correct judgment? And it wasn't his shop, it was his mother's, he couldn't do something like that without her permission.
Leyenda looked over at Lin. "Didn't you say you had some things you could trade instead?" she asked her. "Just in case?"
The boy brightened visibly. "I can take items in trade," he said eagerly.

"Yea," Lin nodded tucking the coin away.
It was a good thing she had family members who thought that far ahead because Lin sure has heck wouldn't have thought of it. She rummaged around in her bag for her box of stuff. She found it and opened it while it was still inside the bag.
The box was of stuff was a dark wood carved box of middle size (if Lin didn't have anything else left her father said). Lin hadn't actually taken a good look what was inside of it until she opened it. It was odd she thought, but looking at it's contents made her slightly homesick.
The first item she found was a solid jade bracelet, Lin nearly twitched as she pulled it out o the bag because it reminded her of the Lunar New Year and of her baby sisters.
"Are you familiar with jade?"

The boy shook his head. "It's pretty, though," he smiled. "I looks like a stone bracelet. Mama might like it, but I'm not sure it would be enough for the bag."
He had an eye for quality, it seemed, but he also knew the worth of the bags that he sold, and, it being up to him to make sure the family got along fine, he couldn't take anything less than its worth.

Setting the bracelet down, Lin nodded. She didn't know much about the worth of metals and stones, she knew jade was semi precious but it was just a common stone to use it probably was like marble in a way.
"It is a stone bracelet," Lin murmured checking her bag again, "It's some sort of tradition that all girls get one at least once in their life time...."
At least that's what her grandmother would always tell her Lin thought to herself as she pulled out a silk coin pouch. There was embroider work on it of blood red lilies against a golden cream white. She studied it for a while before holding it out, she was pretty sure Trisha had done that work.
"It's a coin pouch, but.. I'm not sure if it's enough, maybe with the bracelet?"

The boy looked thoughtful. Though the silk was nothing special (it was quite common to them), the paint on it was quite skilled, and it was indeed a unique item. Alone, it was not worth very much: the could find the equivalent down the road at the silk shop, save for the painted design; but with the bracelet, which was indeed a one-of-a-kind item, it did have quite a bit of worth.
"Very well," he decided with a nod. "One leather bag, sold for the price of one painted silk bag and a jade stone bracelet."
He reached out and took the two items on the counter, nudging the leather bag with the butterflies on it towards Lin. He smiled at her as he tucked the payment away. "Thank you for your business!"

Taking the bag, Lin tucked it into her other bag for later. She would transfer over her items as soon as she got it runed.
"Thank you," Lin grinned.
She was glad that was settled, but in the future she should take a long at was in the box next time so she would know for the future.
