A large open space. Dirt floor. In the middle was a large folding table, strewn with papers and files. Several men and women were bustling in and out. The QM was obvious: he stood over the papers, issuing orders and directing people.

"Quartermaster, we'd like to have a word with you and we need to be gone within three hours," Anatoly declared.

The QM glanced up and waved a hand.
A guard stepped out from beside them. "Identification, please?"

Mike walked in glancing around taking in everything he could. He slipped his hand back in his pocket taking off the mysticker so that he wouldn't accidentally be found out. He watched the guard carefully making sure to look bored and annoyed. He waited for Anatoly to silence him with another lie.

"Ithaca Group," Anatoly replied, displaying the coin again. "We're here investigating a possible misappropriation of funds." He had traced Skulltap outside. He could hold one charge as long as he needed to.

The guard looked at the coin, then to the QM. The QM nodded and the guard stepped back.

Mike watched the guard back away. He thought it was hilarious that all these people let them past because of one simple trick. They were all to eager to seem like they had some greater knowledge than the others. He controlled himself to make sure that none of this showed on his face. He then waited for Anatoly to go on.

"Thank you for your cooperation," Anatoly said. "I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding. We'll need your inventory documentation. This shouldn't take too long."
He didn't show it, but he was starting to get nervous. Had he, by coincidence, managed to select the name and method of ID of an actual organization?

"If you refuse, we'll report this refusal. The suspicions of misappropriation of funds - embezzlement, if you will - will be taken more seriously than they have been. An investigation will come through standard channels. It'll take up more time and more effort and more money than this matter should," Anatoly replied smoothly. "If there's nothing to fear, it would be preferable for Ithaca to do away with the suspicions and lay the matter to rest quietly."

"That's not intimidation, that's just how it works. You know it's true," Anatoly said with a sigh. "Someone was going over the shipment logs. They noticed that one high-cost purchase was logged as having been shipped here but no matching receipt document ever came. We're fairly certain the receipt notice just got lost, but you know as well as I that it's a serious matter if something else happened. We need to confirm arrival of all shipments in the last couple of months and we can be on our way."

The man did not seem to fully believe them, but he slowly slid the files across the table. His eyes never left Anatoly.

"Thank you," Anatoly said with a nod. "We'll try not to take up too much of your time. We apologize for the inconvenience." He turned and handed the documents to Mike. "You know which one we need to confirm."

Mike watched the man the man closely and was about to ask him if anyone had ever taught him that it's rude to stare, but he stopped himself knowing that although it wouldn't give them up it could cause suspicion and he wanted to avoid such a thing. He then took the documents from Anatoly and started flipping through them pausing every so often to read a line or two, just so the man would think he was going through each of them individually. Eventually he came across the one they were looking for. "Here it is." he said handing the documents back to Anatoly pointing out which one. "We need to confirm that this item is still in the inventory and that someone hasn't removed it."
