Now seriously, what the hell were they thinking?

Jacen stood astounded at this site. He and the rest of the residents that stayed behind managed to dismantle wave after wave of the Sentinel assault, but this Cassandra Nova strode in without a care in the world it seemed. Single-handedly she had incapacitated Wolverine and was on the verge of breaking Storm's mind like a twig. Even some of the younger students who'd come in to help were being tossed aside as so much refuse.

"This is a losing battle," Jacen commented on as he saw Kitty get sent sprawling backwards only to be propped immediately back to her feet by Jacen. "Kitty, I need you to check up on the others. Make sure they're ok." Jacen looked around at the downed X-Men and then noticed Cassandra Nova marching diligently through the halls. "I've got something to take care of."

Hurriedly, Jacen ran down a parellel corridor in hopes of catching up with Cassandra. Unfortunately for him every time he thought he'd be able to turn down and cut her off, a swarm of Chicken Sentinels attacked. With each Sentinel came a loud crack or explosion as they effortlessly fell one by one. Nearly exhausted, Jacen was through disposing of the chicken-legged machines and was ready to pursue his quarry. At least that's what he thought.

A horrid scraping along with what sounded like hydraulic pumps echoed through the hallway where Jacen was standing. It was one of the Snake Sentinels. About ten feet of shined up titanium alloy made up the body and the various instruments it carried were for nothing more than a slow, torturous death.

"Come on," Jacen said quietly to himself as the snake-like robot slithered nearer and nearer. He could still hear the fights raging on behind him, and that bothered him slightly, but this machine in front of him was his main concern. The Sentinel started to fire shots at Jacen's feet, sending him backwards a few feet. Still feeling somewhat rundown, Jacen noticed that the floor was starting to give way slightly. "Here goes nothing," Jacen thought as he let loose a massive blast at the ground, sending wood and metal shards flying into the air. He needed this quick escape route, if only for a few minute breather.

"See ya, big and nasty," Jacen said as he jumped down the hole to the basement level. He didn't know if the Sentinel would be able to follow him or not. He hoped not. Not right now. With his uninjured arm, Jacen hit the button on his comm-link not knowing who'd recieve the transmission, but for whatever reason he felt he needed to let someone know his whereabouts.

"Guys, I'm in the basement," said Jacen to no one in particular, "I'll be topside soo..." He stopped speaking when he heard an elevator's ding, and saw a hulking figure he could have mistaken for the Professor...if it wasn't for this person's feminine features.

"Out of the way, child," Cassandra snarled as he started to prod through Jacen's brain, attacking his motor functions. Once she had control of his muscle activity, she 'told' Jacen to send his fist repeatedly into the metal walls of the basement. And he did so until his right hand was nothing more than gnarled knuckles, broken bones, and dripping blood. And without a second thought, she made Jacen hold his twice injured arm up to the wall, took a metal casing that was housing some spare parts for McCoy, and slammed it against Jacen's arm.

Jacen nearly blacked-out from the combined pain and exhaustion, but he saw what this monster was after. She was heading for Cerebro. He tried to reach for his comm-link to let someone know that they needed to stop Cassandra now, but as he tried to lift himself up from his knees, he passed out on the floor with a heavy thud.

Cascatta walked out of the restaurant, full as could be, and saw the sentinels attacking. She called out the water from the river to try and rust one, but it didn't work. "Merda buona*."

OOC: I am on the plane, but I guess it was confusing, because I thought we were leaving, which is why I was looking out the window to see the sentinels, but now it sound's like we're going back down to help, but I don' know. . .

No, I'm almost 100% that we had to at least have SOME students ride away on a plane with no idea what was going on, at least thats how this whole thing was set up ><

OOC: Just a word to say that I do live but my brain isn't. I don't know when I'll feel like posting but I'll do my best to post during the coming week. The rush of the end of semester is killing me and so is my job. xp
